As the development of wireless techniques, transmission technology of body area network plays an important role in realizing a welfare society by combining IT and BT when applying to vehicles. Off-body WBAN (Wireless Body Area Network) systems for video data transmission require low battery consumption and high data rate. To satisfy the requirement, UWB has been considered as a promising candidate for high rate WBAN. This paper introduces an antenna selection technique for ultra-wideband based off-body WBAN system with low complexity. In this paper, we propose an antenna selection scheme using non-coherent receiver for off-body high data rate WBAN system. The proposed receiver antenna selection method takes advantage of the characteristic of BPPM (Binary Pulse Position Modulation). With the property of BPPM, this scheme calculates the approximate SNR of the received signal with non-coherent receiver.

In this paper, a ZigBee-based wireless sensor network is configured for the robot to effectively communicate with the environment platform where sensor nodes are implemented using high performance microcontrollers. The localization and the navigation functions are also required to the robot which performs the given task using various types of sensor information. A new type of ZigBee stack is developed using the RUM(Router Under MAC) of the Atmel Corp. and it is applied to a 32-bit ARM core microcontroller for the high performance sensor data manipulation and transmission. It is verified by experiments that the wireless sensor network consisting of developed high performance sensor nodes can be effectively used for the robot environment platform.

The monitoring system in railway is under study to forecast any derailment and accident by defect of train. Because the monitoring system is composed of wireless sensor network based on ZigBee-communication between inside and outside of train, the study for wireless channel analysis is required. Especially, if multipath delay profile exist in the channel, the equalizer and channel estimator can be required for preventing receiver performance degradation. Therefore, we analyzed the wireless channel in train environment using measured data and, proposed the channel estimation method through the characterisitic of chip code, under the consideration of the channel characteristics in train. To show the performance of proposed method, we demonstrate the performance by mean square error(MSE), computational complexity and bit error rate(BER).

A satellite communication system is one of viable solutions for Internet applications running in wide areas. However, the performance of TCP can be seriously degraded in the satellite networks due to long round-trip time (RTT) and high bit error rate (BER) over satellite links. Therefore, a performance enhancing proxy(PEP) based TCP splitting connection scheme is used in the satellite link to improve the TCP performance. In this paper, we implement PEP testbed and conduct experiment to evaluate the performance of TCP splitting connection by comparing with high-speed TCP solutions in various environments. In our experimental environment, we consider multiple connections, high packet loss, and limited bandwidth. The experiment results show that PEP improves the TCP throughput than high-speed TCP variants in various environments. However, there is no improvement of the TCP throughput with the limited bandwidth because there is packet loss caused by both the congestion and the channel error.
A controlling system for airport refueling facilities is connected to sensors which collect various informations. Informations which are transmitted at a high speed in various sensors are processed by a dedicated software in the controlling system. The problems of system maintenance and network traffic caused by the use of dedicated software reduce the efficiency of the system operation. Therefore, a web-based system that can be accessed using the Internet environment is required. In this paper, we propose a system showing web-based real-time informations. To do this, we change the function of the communication by each sensor to a facade structure, and design a system for transferring web-based real-time informations. Also we propose data-driven infographics for displaying the real-time big data information at a high speed on the web. Finally, we compare and analyse the proposed system between the existing system and show that our system can effectively display the real-time information on the web.

With several enhanced access technologies, users have many changes to select their preference access network. There are great differences between access technologies, users' need to handover from one access network to another is getting bigger. As users' need grows there are several works to archive fast handover between heterogeneous and homogeneous access networks. However traditional handover mechanisms work only on L2 or L3 have several limits that prevent fast and heterogeneous handover. To overcome those limits, IEEE 802.21 WG and IRTF MOBOPTS RG are working for developing handover mechanisms that uses L2 information on theupper layers like L3. This paper introduces two new L2 information and properties can be used to archive fast handover of mobile nodes.

As the Internet usage grows, people want to access the Internet while they are moving. To satisfy this requirement economically, IEEE 802.11 Wireless LANs(WLANs) are rapidly deployed. In order to support mobility, WLANs must provide smooth handoff mechanism. Recent studies show, however, handoff delay of WLANs exceeds 300ms, most of which is due to slow scanning mechanism finding a new AP. With this handoff delay, current WLANs is not suitable to provide seamless realtime interactive services such as VoIP sevice. In this paper, we analyze the current handoff method of IEEE 802.11 and we propose a new handoff algorithm which can decrease time needed for searching a new AP and thus reduce overall handoff time. We show by simulation that the proposed algorithm has shorter handoff delay than current handoff method.

An IP address lookup scheme has become a critical issue increasingly for high-speed networking techniques due to the advent of IPv6 based on 128bit. In this paper, a novel global IPv6 unicast address lookup scheme is proposed for next generation internet routers. The proposed scheme perform a variable multiple hashing based on prefix grouping. Accordingly, it should not only minimize overflows with the proper number of memory modules, but also reduce a memory size required to organize forwarding tables. It has the fast building and searching mechanisms for forwarding tables during only a single memory access. Besides, it is easy to update forwarding tables incrementally. In the simulation using CERNET routing data as a 6bone test phase, we compared the proposed scheme with a similar scheme using a uniform multiple hashing. As a result, we verified that the number of overflows is reduced by 50% and the size of memory for forwarding tables is shrunken by 15% with 8 tables.
Wireless LAN (IEEE 802.11) uses traditional TCP for reliable data transmission, But it brings the unintentional packet loss which is not congestion loss caused by handoff, interference, and fading in wireless LAN. In wireless LAN, TCP experiences performance degradation because it consumes that the cause of packet loss is congestion, and it decrease the sending rate by activating congestion control algorithm. This paper analyzes that correlation of throughput and buffer size for wireless buffer tuning. We find MBT (Maximum Buffer Threshold) which does not increase the throughput through the analysis, For calculation of MBT, we experiment the throughput by using high volume music data which is creased by real-time performance of piano. The experiment results is shown that buffer tuing based on MBT shows 20.3%, 21.4%, and 45.4% throughput improvement under 5ms RTT, 10ms RTT, and 20ms RTT, respectively, comparing with the throughput of operation system default buffer size, In addition, we describe that The setting of TCP buffer size by exceeding MBT does not have an effect on the performance of TCP.

Overload vehicles operate damage to road, bridge, and then increasing in maintenance and repair cost because structures are reduced durability. The existing regulation systems have many problems and need coping measure. Therefore, this paper organized Ubiquitous sensor network system for development of intelligent auto overload vehicle regulation system about high speed vehicles, also axial load WIM sensor was selected by indoor experiment through wireless protocol. And we examined possibility U-load auto overload vehicle regulation system through experiment of the transmission and reception distance. If this system will apply to road and bridge, might be effective for economy and convenience through establishment of U-IT system. And high speed vehicle that was amalgamate IT technology and existing overload regulation problems, also tested wireless sensor for USN organization. This experiment aim to organize system interface for user through perfection man-less, wireless system of Internal/External Network from high speed WIN sensor with USN organization. Accordingly, it is necessary experimentation through Test Bed for constitution External network and application of actually regulations using WCDMA/HSDPA.
