  • Medium and high speed marine diesel engines have been widely used as prime mover in small car ferries and fishing vessels with reduction gear. These propulsion shafting system should be installed and matched the elastic coupling between engine and reduction gear to isolate the vibratory torque. In this paper, the elastic dynamic characteristics of coupling with rubber type circular segments is confirmed by the theoretical analysis using the FEM and the hydraulic exciting test at shop. And its adaptation is investigated in the torsional vibration test in factory shop.

  • In this study, we made two types of main control room floor systems (Type I, Type II) and several shaking table tests with and without isolation system were conducted to evaluate floor isolation effectiveness of LRB(Lead Rubber Bearing). Both type showed large difference according to input earthquake signals, but showed little difference according to floor type. It is required to make LRB of which design frequency is below 1Hz when applied to main control room of NPP, but considering much difficulties in making such LRB, it is recommended that consideration should be taken into account when applied to main control room of NPP.

  • Recently, the high precision technology can not be developed continuously if we don't have anti vibration technology. Vibration isolation technology using an air spring and laminated robber bearing is widely used because it has excellent vibration isolation characteristics. We developed high precision vibration table with two good element(air spring and LRB) for semiconductor factory. Air Spring is used for isolating the vertical vibration and LRB is used for isolating the horizontal Vibration. As a result, It has D-Class degree in BBR-Criteria. In this paper, we talk about orifice characteristics in the self-damped air spring and design flow of the laminated robber bearing. The orifice characteristics is delicate shade of length and diameter. When we do experimentation to find orifice characteristics, length is fixed and diameter is changed. The orifice diameter is the wider and the air spring stiffness is the softer.

  • Medium and high speed marine diesel engines with reduction gear have been widely used as prime mover in small car ferries and fishing vessels. The elastic coupling should be installed and complemented the propulsion shafting system to isolate the vibratory torque between engine and reduction gear. In this paper, the dynamic characteristics of elastic coupling with rubber type circular segments is confirmed by theoretical analysis using the FEM and the hydraulic excitation test at shop. Further adaptation was investigated with the torsional vibration test at diesel engine factory shop.

실리콘 고무의 트래킹에 미치는 충전재의 영향 (The influence of filler for silicone rubber tracking)

  • Tracking is one of the biggist problems to be overcome in polymeric materials for outdoor insulators. But It can be decreased with the addition of filler such as alumina trihydrate (ATH). In this paper, the tracking of surface and evaluation of insulating ability at silicone rubber is investigated, using the salt fog test. At initial state, the peak leakage current and numbers by dry band arcing is increasing with increasing the filler level, but at aged state decreasing at high concentration filler samples. This is because the roughness of the surface may contribute to the increase in peak leakage cur-rent and numbers. As increasing the filler level, the insulating ability of materials is higher and weight loss is decreased. The mechanism of insulating failure is occurred by the erosion than the tracking and the erosion caused weight loss of 2 g.

  • 1. Physical properties of various nylon cords in a tire, both of home and foreign products are studied. The experimental data for home nylon cords appeared to be quite satisfactory for use in a tire compared with foreign nylon cords with respect to its tenacity, elongation, shrinkage and contraction. 2. Excellent results have been obtained with 50 phr carbon in butyl-carbon compounding.

  • As a series of the studies of EPDM-polymer blonds, the experiments are concentrated to the investigation of the physical properties of the EPDM-BR blends. The results are shown as follows: 1. In blending, tensile strength and elongation decreased with increase in EPDM contents. 2. The resistance for aging and ozone were much improved after blending. It was effective more :han the ratio of EPDM/BR is 50/50. 3. Tear strength is less influenced after blending and rebound character decreased with increase in EPDM contents.

  • As a series of the studies of EPDM-Polymer blends, the experiments are concentracted to the investigation of the physical properties of the EPDM-NBR blends. The results are shown as follows; 1. As EPDM addition ratio is increased, the physical properties such as resistance to ozone and aging have also improved, on the other hand, elongation and abrasion resistance decreased. 2. Tear strength is less influenced by blending and character after aging exhibited the same result. 3. Tensile strength decreased with increase in EPDM contents, especially the ratio of EPDM/NBR are 50/50 and 75/25.

  • 1. The effect of reactive type antioxidant, G-1 in comparism to ordinary antioxidant, SP, which are used for NR and SBR has teen studied, and its recipes are equal. The effects against ozone aye been shown that ill ordinary antioxidant, SBR, no an particular effect both for NR and SBR was found, where as in reactive type, considerable influence was recogniged particulary in dynamic ozone test. 2. The influence of reactive antioxidants on velcanization has been studied by means of Mooney viscometer and Rheometer. 3. The ageing properties of vulcanizates containing reactive antioxidant have been studied in terms of tensile strength.

In blending, tensile strength decreased with increase in EPDM contents and decreasing value was good results than various EPDM blending. 2. As EPDM Addition ratio is increased physical properties such as elongation have also improved, on the other hand, hardness and abrasion resistance decreased. 3. Aging resistance is less influenced by blending. 4. Tear strength is less influenced by blending and character after aging exhibited the same result. 5. Ozone resistance was much improved after blending. It was effective more than the ratio of EPDM/CR is 25/75.
