In Korea, even though many aspects of medical care system for the elderly have been considered. Until now, most people have realized that the conceptualization range of geriatric hospital is the same as recuperation hospital. However the recent geriatric hospital includes a short term treatment like general hospitals, together with that it has a tendency to increase the propotion of rehabilitationby the Introduction of the concept of active rehabilitation treatment for returning to society. Unlike the general hospitals, geriatric hospital has got different characteristics in a managing and patient. However this is not a concrete standard of faacilities by the law of health welfare and medical. So these kinds of research will have to keep continuing. What I want to say In this study is that the prominence of information, which is based on the existing data analysis, is what forms my latest projects that engage with a wider repertoire of strategies and approaches toward architectural problem.

This study aims at providing suitable outdoor spaces for physical, social, and psychological condition of Korea elderly, examining design characteristics and presenting design guideline of outdoor space for elderly. To do this, this study examined previous research papers and scholastic writings, related to elderly housing, and analyzed existing outdoor space for elderly. Additionally evaluation of usage pattern and physical trace carried out four silver towns. As a result, first, the study showd that characteristics of outdoor space are related to safety, amenity, recognition and efficiency. Second, types of outdoor space in elderly related facilities are very limited in verity, just facilitating with rest space, sport space, and garden space. Third, from a standpoint of barrier-free-design, four silver town cases are not carefully concerning about outdoor space for elderly. These spaces should be designed for both neighborhood and elderly people.

우리 나라도 최근들어 소득수준 향상, 건강의식의 고조, 평균수명의 연장등으로 고령화 사회의 진전추세가 가속화되고 있다. 한국보건사회연구원(1987)의 조사에 의 하면 국내 인구의 고령화 속도는 급속히 빨라져 65세 이상 노인 인구의 비가 전체 인구의 5.5%를 차지하고 있으며, 2,000년에는 노인이 전체인구의 7%, 2,025년에는 14%에 달할 것이라고 하며, 이 속도는 프랑스 보다 4.6배, 미국에 비해서는 3배나 빠르다 한다. 인구 구성비에서 65세 이상의 노인 인구가 7%를 넘는 사회를 고령화 사회, 14%를 넘으면 고령사회로 정의를 하고 있는 유엔의 규정을 감안한다면 우리 나라도 앞으로 수년내에 본격 고령화 사회로 접어들게 될 것이다. 본 연구에서는 인간의 행동이 머리의 판단과 수족의 동작으로 이루어 지므로 동작 및 판단속도의 연령대별, 성별 수행성취도 차이를 비교분석하여 그 특성을 고찰하고 그 결과로 고령 자의 고용에 필요한 근로능력의 평가, 고령자의 근로적응을 위한 직무나 작업장의 설계, 더 나아가서는 노인의 복지향상을 위한 복지시설의 설계시 이용할 수 있는 기초자료를 제공하고자 한다.

노인들이 주거하는 실버타운에는 노인들의 건강 관리가 가장 중요하다. 이러한 노인들은 갑작스럽게 생체 신호의 변화나 건강 상태가 나빠질 수 있다. 대부분의 실버타운은 의료시설 외의 다른 장소에서 노인들의 건강 상태를 확인할 수 없다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 실버타운에서 노인들의 생체 정보 및 응급상황을 언제, 어디서나 모니터링 할 수 있는 USN(Ubiquitous Sensor Network)시스템을 설계 및 구현한 연구를 소개한다. 또한, 실버타운 환경을 고려한 라우팅 알고리즘을 소개한다.

Aging society appears immediate social problem in Korea. Housing for aging is required independent and comfortable housing life to live considering about feature of elderly. It is necessary field to prepare. Aged person who suffers the aging process several stages gets changing weak, so living environment is important aging person aspect of social, psychological and physical point. Finally, aged person living together requires facilities for the naturally communicating and active things. Community of aged person required organization of space for keeping independence and connection with each other. According to space of community, housing for aging should have a different access route. In conclusion, congregate housing of the elderly should be planed organization of space to be solved anxiety and tension and to be aware of joining the community.

음 배리어 프리(acoustic barrier-free)는 '음과 관련하여 장애인과 고령자의 생활에 불편을 주는 장벽을 제거하는 방안'이라고 정의 된다. 음 배리어프리는 건축, 도시 공간 및 교통 수단에서의 시각 또는 청각약자를 위한 안내, 유도, 경보 및 피난 시설에 대한 설계와 관련된다. 또한 보청기 등의 청각지원기기, 전자기기 등의 신호음 및 안내음과 음성 전송 장치와 같은 제품 디자인에도 음 배리어프리 개념은 요구된다. 본고에는 일본사례를 중심으로 음 배리어프리의 현황을 소개하고자 한다.

The number of people over sixty five years old is rising steadily and the residential facilities for elderly people are continuously increasing. For many elderly people, losing their ability to see well means losing independence. Good lighting environment can help elderly people's Independent life. This research has been done with a purpose of suggestion the methodology of lighting design for elderly people. For this purpose, the basic knowledge to develop lighting design guidelines of residential facilities for elderly people are prepared through literature review.

Studies about architectural planning for elderly residences have been carried out to examine various factors including the unit plan, site planning, and size planning. However, no studies have been undertaken that focus on the residents' daily life patterns. This study offers the design guidelines to support the daily life patterns of the elderly through the planning of elderly housing. For this study, elderly residents in Tokyo, Yokohama etc. in Japan were interviewed and surveyed. The results indicate that the changes to the daily life patterns of the residents living in elderly housing are the reduction of household, the increase of free time, and the change of social relationships. The elderly want to utilize their free time and focus on their social relationships. However, the elderly residences that we surveyed pay no consideration to social spaces and programs for their residents except for the cafeteria. To support the daily life patterns of the elderly, elderly housing should set a high value on the location, shared spaces, and unit plans of the residences in order to consider the personal diversity of the residents. Accessibility to public transportation systems and facilities should to be considered in the initial location planning. The revitalization of the public spaces should to be considered during the architectural planning stage. Considerations of personal taste during the unit planning stage are also necessary.

고령화 사회로 진입된 현재 노인들의 응급상황에 대한 안전 보호 기능이 더욱 요구되고 있으나, 노인들이 거주하고 있는 주거설비나 시설들은 노인의 안전에 대한 특성을 배려하지 못하고 있으므로 각종 안전사고가 일어날 수 있다. 특히 현재, 홀로 거주하는 노인들이 집안 내부 중 폐쇄공간인 화장실과 욕실과 같은 공간에서 발생하는 응급상황에 대비할 수 있는 기능은 호출 버튼을 누르는 정도이나, 노인들의 경우 화장실과 욕실에서 미끄러짐과 넘어짐과 같은 응급 상황이 많이 발생하고 있고 특히 생명과 직결되는 경우가 많다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 노인들이 거주하는 집안과 자주 이용하는 화장실에서 노인 안전 보호 기능을 강화할 수 있도록 다양한 센서를 통해 노인들의 움직임과 동작을 수집하고 수집된 노인들의 생활 패턴 정보에 대해 사례기반추론을 이용하여 실시간으로 상황을 인식하여 응급상황이 발생할 경우 신속하게 가족 혹은 친척이나 관련 기관에 전화를 걸어 대처할 수 있는 시스템을 개발하였다.

본 연구는 보행보조차의 사용성평가 및 노인의 사회활동에 대한 조사를 통해 제품 R&D에 기초자료를 제공하며 제품이 고령자의 삶에 미치는 영향을 알아보아 고차원적 참고자료 제시를 목적으로 연구를 진행하였다. 본 연구는 성남시 거주 보행보조기 사용 노인 60명을 대상으로 설문조사를 진행하였다. 조사결과 제품의 접이기능, 무게, 등받이의 형태, 의자의 재질 등에서 불만족이 나타났다. 사회활동 조사 결과 제품의 편의성이 노인의 외출 증가에 가장 큰 영향을 주는 것으로 드러났으며 승강기 및 대중교통과 같은 시설 이용의 불편이 외출 감소에 상당한 영향을 주는 것으로 드러났다. 따라서 노인의 일상생활 및 외출에 보행보조차의 기능개선도 중요한 요인 중 하나지만 도시적 차원의 인프라 개선 및 구축도 중요한 요인으로 파악된다.
