International Comparison of Curricula about Electricity and Magnetism in Primary and Secondary School (전기와 자기에 관한 초 . 중 . 고등학교 교육과정의 국제 비교)

  • The electric technology of modem stage is able to be convenient our everyday life and offers the chance to become a strong economic country. Therefore the education about the electricity and magnetism comes to be more and more important to enhance the electric technological power of each nation. In this paper, it is compared that how much the electricity and magnetism are treated in science education of primary and secondary school level in several nations such as USA, England, Japan, Taiwan, Singapore and Korea. We selected the teaching topics about the electricity and magnetism described in the curriculum of each nations and classified the topics by similarity to be easy in comparing. In results, Korea treats poorly most of the subjects in the middle school and early high schoollevel, but teach abrupt.ly much in the selection course of high school.

A Survey on Evaluation in Science Education at Primary and Secondary School in Korea (우리나라 초·중·고등학교 과학과의 평가 실태)

  • The purpose of this study was to monitor evaluation in science education at primary and secondary school in Korea. In order to do this, the survey was administered. The subject was 518 teachers; 292 elementary school teachers, 110 middle school science teachers and 116 general high school science teachers. It was found that the ratio of paper examination increased while that of performance evaluation decreased according to the grade of school. In the science paper examination, the ratio of selection type item was higher than that of supply type item, and the ratio of item belonging to knowledge area was higher than that of item belonging to the inquiry area regardless of the grade of school, teaching career, and teacher's gender. The teachers recognized the necessity of supply type item, but they suffered from the reliability of the result of that item. And it was hard for them to do performance evaluation because it took much time and effort. This study suggested that the high-quality in-service teacher training be provided and laboratory assistants who help the science experiment and grading test papers be employed in order to fulfil the performance evaluation and increase the ratio of supply type item and items belonging to the inquiry area.

History of Biology Education in Korea During the Periord of 1880-1945 (1880-1945 년간의 한국 생물교육의 역사)

  • The author devided th period of 1876-1945 into three epochs ; the Opening of Ports in 1876 -before the Political Reform in 1894 , the Political Reform- the Japanese annexation of Korea in 1910 , and the Epoch of Japanese Colony during 1910-1945. As civilization through including educational reform rised. The modern school system began to be introduced nongovernmentally and governmentally to Korea in the 1880's without any school laws. Were chronologycally established school regulation by Korea Government in 1895-1893, school laws by Korean Government under the supervision of the Japanese Residency-General of Korea in 1906-1910, and the educational laws of Korea by the Japanese Government-General of Korea in 1911-1943. In these epochs, the numbers of elementary , secondary and higher educational institutions and the numbers of pupils and students had increased slowly. Japanese had developed sonwhat primary education and secondary technical education, but it had checked extremely the Korean peoples to receive secondary liberal education and higher education, On the epoch of Japanese colony, Japanese occupied nearly half of elementary school teachers, almost of public secondary school teachers educated in Japan, and nearly all of professor educated in Japan in public and national colleges which were technical, and in one imperial university . Forty or more Korean teachers taught natural history chief at private secondary schools for Koreans , more than half of them being graduates of colleges of agriculture and forestry in Korea and Japan. The author mentioned curricula , and subjects and textbooks connected with biology of elementary, secondary and higher educational institutions. The pup8ls and students received biological knowledge through learning sciences at primary schools ; natural history (plants, animals and minerals ) at secondary schools including normal schools ; botany, zoology, genetics and major subjects related with biology such as anatomy, physiology, bacteriology, pland breeding at medical colleges and colleges of agriculture and forestry. There were no departments of biology , botany or zoology in Korea. Only seven Koreas graduated from departments of biology, botany or zoology at imperial universities in Japan. Some of them played the leading parts to develop education and researches of biology in the universities after 1945 Liberation.

선형 대수의 가르침에 고려하여야 할 사항에 관한 연구

  • Wassily Leontief가 미국 경제의 모델에 선형 대수를 적용한 이론으로 1973년에 노벨 경제학상을 받은 후로는 인문${\cdot}$사회 과학(특히 상경(商經) 분야)을 전공하는 사람에게도 선형 대수는 큰 관심 분야가 되었다. 그래서 1980년대 부터는 대학의 기초 과목으로써 선형 대수를 가르치는 것은 유행처럼 퍼졌고 또 가르침에 관한 연구도 활발하여졌다. 현행 우리나라의 초${\cdot}$${\cdot}$고등 학교의 수학과 교육과정(이른바 “제 7차 개정”) 속에는 선형대수의 내용이 어느 정도 있으나 학생들에게 확실한 개념을 갖도록 가르치고 있지 않다. 수직선, 순서 쌍, n-겹수, 직교 좌표, 벡터 등 해석기하적인 내용과 선형 방정식계의 풀이법(가우스${\cdot}$조르단 소거법을 쓰지 않는 풀이법) 등 일반 대수적인 내용은 다루지만 선형 변환, 벡터 공간의 구조 등은 다루지 않는다. m${\sim}$n 행렬은 수학II에 나와 있긴 하나 소개하는 정도에 그친다. 한편 과학 계열 고등학교 학생을 위한 "고급 수학"에는 비교적 많은 양의 선형 대수의 내용이 있다. 일반 계열 고등학교의 수학에서도 선형 대수의 내용을 확장하고 학생들에게 확실한 개념을 갖도록 가르쳐서 이들이 대학에 진학하여 전공 분야에서 아무 어려움이 없도록 하는 것이 바람직하다.

  • 본 연구에서는 공업계 고등학교 재학생 중 자율주행로봇 대회에 출전하려는 학생들을 대상으로 삼았다. 자율주행로봇 대회를 준비할 때는 프로그래밍, 로봇제작 등을 연습한다. 학생들은 대회를 준비하면서 성과에 대한 부담을 많이 가지고 있지만, 대회를 준비하는 과정에서 본인의 의도대로 결과물이 나타나지 않았을 때, 학습된 무기력에 빠질 수 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 자율주행로봇 대회의 출전을 준비하면서 발생할 수 있는 학습된 무기력을 극복하기 위하여 회복탄력성을 증진할 수 있는 방안을 제시하였다.
