  • This paper proposed a design of intelligent supervisory control systems for maintenance of highway traffic information equiprrent and processing algorithm of equiprrent fault data. The fault data of highway traffic equipment are transmitted from rerrnte supervisory controller to central supervisory system by real time, the transmitted fault data are anaIyzed the characteristic using evaluation algorithm of fault data in central supervisory system. The evaluation algorithm includes a neural network and fault knowlOOge-base for processing the multi-generated fault data. For validating the evaluation algorithm of intelligent supervisory control systems, the rrethod of analysis used to the five pattern of binary signal by transmitted real time and the opTclting user-interface constructed in central supervisory system.

  • In this paper, we propose a framework (named Multimedia Service Framework) that provides the development and operation of different kind of multimedia applications. This framework defines the architectures and its functionalities for supporting multimedia services, in 3 layers of: Application, Distributed Support System and Network. Firstly, we analyzed general characteristics of multimedia applications, and defined a set of horizontal and vertical services in the Application Architecture. Also, we determined functionalities and services required to support all application services in the Distributed Support System Architecture which must provide functions for the distribution transparencies, resource sharing, interoperability and portabiliy. Finally, in the Network Architecture we proposed the network infrastructure and services to increase the efficiency in resource management and processing capacity of network components such as router and switch, adopting the active networking approach.

  • Video sequence should be hierachically classified for the content-based retrieval. Cut detection algorithm is an essential process to classify shots. It is generally difficult for cut detection algorithms to detect cut points since a current frame is compared with a previous one, because movement of camera or object made adrupt scene change. We reduce ratio of failed cut detection so that compare the difference between frames of predicted cut point and their neighbors. In this paper, first we get predicted cut point, then we judge that the predicted cut point is true point or not. And we extracted DC images in MPEG video sequence for comparison. As a result of experiments. We confirmed that the cut detection ratio of the proposed algorithm is higher than of any other algorithms.

  • The rapid increase in the use of many commercial software products has necessitated a systematic and objective method of their evaluation and selection. Our study focuses on the assignment of weights and choice of proper models. First, the weights of attributes are assigned consistently by using the analytic hierarchy process. Second, many models, which can be suitable for the structure of evaluation and selection for software product, are collected, categorized into two types of model, and compared in terms of their strength and weakness. The models involved are four compensatory models and seven noncompensatory models. Finally, they are analyzed through the application of specific software products(database data modelers) in terms of their attributes. Our study enhances the applicability of models to a variety of user requirement utilizing the evaluating procedure and applications.

  • A word 'is' in "A parallelogram is trapezoid." is ambiguous and very rich when it comes to its meaning. In this paper, 'is' as in everyday language will be identified as semantic primes that can be interpreted in different ways depending on context and situation, and meanings of 'is' in mathematics will be discussed separately. Focusing on 'identity', 'is' will be reinterpreted in the view of equivalence relation and van Hieles' work. 'Is', as a mathematical sign, is thought to have a significant importance in producing mathematical ideas meaningfully.

  • In this paper, an automatic recognition algorithm for linearly modulated signals like PSK, QAM under noncoherent asynchronous condition is proposed. Frequency, phase, and amplitude characteristics of digitally modulated signals are changed periodically. By using this characteristics, cyclic moments and higher order cumulants based features are utilized for the modulation recognition. Hierarchial decision tree method is used for high speed signal processing and totally 4 feature extraction parameters are used for modulation recognition. In the condition where the symbol number is 4,096, the recognition accuracy of the proposed algorithm is more than 95% at SNR 15dB. Also the proposed algorithm is effective to classify the signal which has carrier frequency and phase offset.

  • We developed the platform safety step system for the passenger to avoid misstep accident and secure the pedestrian safety. In this study, we classify platform safety step system into hierarchy system and predict the failure rate of each part and calculate the failure rate & MTBF(Mean Time Between Failure) of each module(sub-system) by means of RBD(Reliability Block Diagram) & FTA(Fault Tree Analysis). Finally, we will propose the reliability analysis results for RAMS analysis of platform safety step system.

  • 본 논문은 문서 영상에 존재하는 개별 단어들에 대한 속성정보 추출 방법을 제안한다. 단어 단위의 속성 인식은 단어 영상 매칭의 정확도 및 속도 개선, OCR 시스템에서 인식률 향상, 문서의 재생산 등 다양한 응용 가치를 찾을 수 있으며, 메타정보(meta-information) 추출을 통해 영상 검색(image retrieval)이나 요약(summary) 생성 등에 활용할 수 있다. 제안하는 시스템에서 고려하는 단어 영상의 속성은 언어의 종류(한글, 영문), 스타일(볼드, 이탤릭, 보통, 밑줄), 문자 크기(10, 12, 14 포인트), 문자 개수 (한글: 2, 3, 4, 5, 영문: 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10), 서체(명조, 고딕)의 다섯 가지 정보이다. 속성 인식을 위한 특징은, 언어 종류 인식에 2개, 스타일 인식에 3개, 문자 크기와 개수는 각각 1개, 한글 서체 인식은 1개, 영문 서체 인식은 2개를 사용한다. 분류기는 신경망, 2차형 판별함수(QDF), 선형 판별함수(LDF)를 계층적으로 구성한다. 다섯 가지 속성이 조합된 26,400개의 단어 영상을 사용한 실험을 통해, 제안된 방법이 소수의 특징만으로도 우수한 속성 인식 성능을 보임을 입증하였다.

  • Recently, increasing attacks using network packets cause serious problems in networked environments ; from disturbing normal network operations to damaging computing resources. Among them denial of services are considered as critical attacks that directly exploit network packets to degrade availability. In this paper, we classify the types of denial of services in the network layer and develop detection methods that can keep the network from the classified denial of service attacks. The methods are then merged into an integrated denial of service detection algorithm that is scalable to detect new denial of service attacks.

  • Advanced Manufacturing Technology(AMT), a comprehensive collection of new technologies for the efficiency and flexibility of manufacturing systems has received a growing attention recently, AMT consists of various industrial and technological components, homogeneous in some aspects while heterogeneous in others. Thus, it is difficult but necessary task to construct a classification framework in which the relationship among individual technologies are depicted in a meaningful fashion. In this, paper, we propose a hierarchical framework in which the objective and criteria of classification are decomposed into three level: industrialization, development and application of AMT. At the first and highest level, the main interest is to "industrialize" AMT. The major actors at this level are policy makers(public sector) and top management(private sector) and the primary classification criterion is the interrelationship between industry and technology. At the middle level exist system engineers whose main objective is to "develop" new technologies and/or systematize individual technologies. At the final and bottom level, shop floor managers need to "apply" AMT in order to enhance the efficiency and flexibility of manufacturing process. It should be stressed that, as a whole, the above three levels should be interactively linked to that each level contributes to the balanced development of AMT.
