Analysis of Reproductive and Weaned Performances in Sow Farms (양돈농가의 계절에 따른 번식 및 이유성적 분석)

  • This study was carried out to investigate the reproductive and weaned performances in sow farms, which located in Boryeong city, Chungnam. Data surveyed a total of 10,394 litters of sow recorded from April, 2007 to March, 2008 were collected and analyzed. The results obtained were as follows; 1. The average of number of sow and farrowing rate were 314.10 sows and 78.77%, respectively. And then, there was not significant difference among seasons in number of sows, but significant difference among season was found in farrowing rate (p<0.05). 2. The average of litter size at farrowing and at initial sucking were 11.04 and 10.22 pigs, respectively. The significant differences were not all found in litter size among seasons. 3. The number of pigs, age and growth rate at weaning were 9.23 pigs, 25.77 days and 91.48%, respectively. The significant differences among seasons were not found in number of pigs and age at weaning. However, there was significant difference in growth rate at weaning (P<0.05). 4. The average of farrowing rate of sows per year, pigs from sow per year (PSY), and body weight at marketing were 2.25 times, 20.75 pigs, and 110.46 kg, respectively. The significant differences among seasons were not found in farrowing rate per year and weight at marketing, but that was found only in PSY (p<0.05), respectively.

월악산 식물계절 연구에 관한 고찰

  • 지구의 기후변화에 따른 생태계 변화를 예측하기위한 연구의 일환으로 월악산에서의 식물계절 연구를 위한 기초를 마련하고자 하였다. 그 결과, 기온의 변화 뿐만 아니라 단풍, 낙엽현삳과 같은 식물계절의 구성요소들이 다양하게 나타났다. 또한 같은 종에서도 국지적으로 분포하는 지형적 위치의 차이, 즉 능선인가 사면하부인가에 따라 큰 차이를 보였다. 따라서 사면, 능선과 같은 지형적 요소를 잘 고려하여 생물계절 연구의 장소를 선정하는 것과 기온변화에 잘 반응하는 식물 종을 골라 식물계절을 연구할 필요가 있으며, 이를 위한 보다 상세하고 구체적인 기초적 연구가 더욱 요구되고 있다.

Seasonal changes in clothing microclimate (의복기후의 계절적 변동)

  • 의복착용시의 쾌적성은 의복의 보온력 조절에 의해 의복내 기후를 형성하여, 체온을 일정하게 유지하게 하는 역할을 하므로 건강과 직접적인 관련이 있다. 그러므로 건강이나 쾌적성 평가의 측면에서 의복내기후가 체계적으로 파악되어야 한다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 사무실 환경에서 의복착용시 착용실험을 실시하여 계절적인 의복내기후의 변동을 살펴보았다. 그 결과 겨울 31.8$^{\circ}C$, 48.6%, 봄 33.5$^{\circ}C$, 47.9%, 여름 32.7$^{\circ}C$, 64.6%, 가을 31.9$^{\circ}C$, 43.6%인 것으로 나타났다. 또한 계절간의 차이는 의복내온도에 있어서 가을과 겨울간에는 차이가 없었으며, 봄과 여름간에는 차이가 있었다. 의복내습도는 여름과 겨울간에는 차이가 없었으며, 다른 계절간에는 차이가 뚜렷하였다.

꽃사슴에 있어서 소화율 및 소화관내 통과속도의 계절간 차이

  • 꽃사슴에 있어서 계절간 소화율의 차이와 사료의 통과속도와의 관계를 암사슴 4두를 공시하여 겨울과 여름에 각각 실시하였다. 사료의 통과속도는 Cr염색법을 이용하였고, 또한 비중별(0.91, 1.20, 1.55, 2.10g/ml) 통과속도의 차이를 규명하기 위하여 plastic particle(PP)를 이용하여 조사하였다. 건물, 유기물, 조단백질 그리고 NDF의 소화율은 겨울철보다 여름철이 높은 경향이었으나 유의적인 차이는 없었다(P>0.05). 그리고 분중의 경시적인 Cr 회수율과 누적회수율에서 계절간에 차이가 나타나지 않았다. 비중별 회수율에 있어서도 계절간의 차이는 나타나지 않았으나, 비중간의 차이는 유의성 있는 차이(P<0.05)를 보였다. 비중 0.90에서는 모든 사슴이 $6\%$의 미만의 낮은 회수율을 보였으나 1.20이상부터 회수율은 높아졌고, 비중 2.10의 PP는 $75\%$ 이상이 회수되었다. 그리나 비중 1.20과 1.55의 PP는 개체간 변이가 심하게 나타나 최대 $95.1\%$에서 최저$1.3\%$의 범위를 보였다. 반추에 의한 이빨자국을 기초로 반추율을 조사한 결과, 비중 0.90의 PP는 약 $70\%$ 반추율을 보였으나 비중 2.10의 PP는 $5\%$미만의 반추율을 나타내어 비중이 높을수록 반추되지 않고 보다 빨리 2-3위구를 통과하기 때문에 통과속도가 빨랐던 것으로 나타났다.

Air-borne Fungi in the Air of Seoul (서울 지방의 공중(空中) 진균(眞菌)에 관한 연구(硏究))

  • An aerial survey for fungal flora in Seoul has been carried out by Petri plate exposure method for a period of one year. A total of 2227 fungal spores appeared in the plates. Of these, Cladosporium was the commonest fungus representing 43.5% of the total spore count followed by Penicillium (15.8%). Alternaria (10.5%), and Aspergillus (3.8%). There were seasonal variations in the prevalence of fungal spores. The occurrence of these fungi was greatly affected by climatic conditions. However, Alternaria appeared to prefer warmer weather. A comparison of fungal population from the outdoor and indoor air was also investigated to support the view that Alternaria is abundant population from the outdoor air and that Cladosporium from the indoor air depending on their availability in the atmosphere.

A Study on Seasonal Variation in Marine Traffic Congestion on Major Port and Coastal Routes (주요 항만 및 연안항로의 계절별 해상교통혼잡도 변화에 관한 연구)

  • In this study, a congestion assessment was conducted to verify seasonal differences in congestion for major coastal traffic routes and fairways in major ports with GICOMS Data for 7 days without issuing a special weather report. As a result, a maximum of 11 % and 82 % are shown, with an average of 3.5 % and a 30 % seasonal difference for hourly average congestion and peak time congestion. Therefore, seasonal differences for the target area should be taken into consideration to perform further congestion assessments, particularly for maritime traffic safety assessments, and keen attention should be given to setting up safety measures against congestion.

Effect of Season on Volatile Organic Compounds and Volatile Fatty Acids Concentration in finishing Pig Slurry to Grassland (초지환원용 비육돈 슬러리의 계절에 따른 휘발성유기물과 휘발성지방산 농도 분석연구)

  • The objective of this study is to investigate the changes in levels of odorous compounds in pig slurry during different seasons. Slurry from pens of finishing pigs was sampled every 4-wk and concentration of odorous compounds was analyzed. There was no difference in the range of phenols level (123 to 156 ppm) during spring (April to May), summer (July to August) and fall (October to November). The concentration of indoles was higher (P<0.05) during spring (14.3 ppm) than summer and fall (5.4~7.6 ppm). Level of BCFA ranging from 727 to 1,194 ppm was not different at any season. Among SCFA, there was no difference in propionic acid during any season but levels of acetic acid and butyric acid were highest (P<0.05) during spring season. Concentration of odorous compounds in pig slurry was highest during spring season. Interestingly, it tended to be lower during summer season compare to fall. This result might be due to relatively lower ventilation rate in order to maintain a constant temperature during spring season. Further study will be necessary to determine the relationship between the concentration of odorous compounds and ventilation system.

Angiotensin-Converting Enzyme(ACE) Gene Polymorphism and Seasonal Variation in Mood and Behavior (기분과 행동의 계절성 변동과 Angiotensin-Converting Enzyme(ACE) 유전자 다형성)

  • Objectives: Angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) gene polymorphism has been reported to be associated with depression and therapeutic outcome in depression. The purpose of this study was to determine whether ACE gene polymorphism is associated with seasonal variation in mood and behavior in a young Korean college student sample. Methods: 297 young Korean medical students were recruited in this study. All subjects were free of major medical and psychiatric problems. They were genotyped for the ACE gene polymorphism and evaluated the seasonal variation in mood and behavior by the Seasonality Pattern Assessment Questionnaire (SPAQ). Results: Global Seasonality Score (GSS) of SPAQ between three genotypes were not different. However, comparison of the group that showed seasonality of mood and behavior during winter with the group that did not showed seasonality indicated significant difference in genotype distribution ($x^2=6.79$, p=0.034). The D allele non-carrier (ll genotype) frequency was significantly higher in winter seasonality group than non-seasonality group ($x^2=6.59$, p=0.010;odds ratio [OR]=2.27, 95% confidence interval [CI] 1.20-4.28). Conclusion: These results suggest that the ACE gene polymorphism is related to winter-type seasonality in a Korean population.

The Effect of Pre-primary Teachers' Gender and Earth Science Completion on the Concept of 'Seasonal Change' (초등예비교사의 성별 및 지구과학 이수 여부가 '계절변화' 개념에 미치는 효과)

  • This study is to investigate the effect of pre-primary teachers' gender and earth science completion while attending high school on the diversity of concepts, the level of conceptual understanding, and misconceptions about seasonal changes. This study was conducted with 71 pre-primary teachers. The conclusion of this study is as follows. First, the area of concepts used by pre-primary teachers to explain seasonal changes showed a greater difference depending on whether or not they completed earth science while attending high school, rather than depending on gender. Second, although there was no significant gender difference in the conceptual level of pre-primary teachers for seasonal change, the group who completed earth science while attending high school had a statistically significantly higher level of conceptual understanding than the group that did not complete it. Third, the ratio of misconceptions related to seasonal change of pre-primary teachers by gender was not significant, but the group who did not complete earth science while attending high school had a statistically significantly higher percentage of misconceptions than the group that completed it. As a result of the above examination, it is judged that the area of concepts, the level of conceptual understanding, and the misconceptions about seasonal changes of pre-primary teachers are more affected by the completion of earth science courses during high school than by gender differences.

Calculating Social Benefit in Travel Time Considering Seasonal and Daily Variation in Traffic Pattern (계절별 요일별 교통패턴 변동을 반영한 연통행시간 편익산출)

  • 교통정책을 평가하기 위해 기본적으로 요구되는 Data 중 가장 근본이 되는 것이 OD이다. 기존의 교통정책을 평가함에 있어서 일반적으로 사용되고 있는 OD는 AADT(Annual Average Daily Traffic) OD이다. 계절별 평일/주말 교통량의 분산이 매우 크다는 것은 기존 조사나 연구로 익히 알려진 사실이며, 또한 사회 경제적인 여건의 변화 및 주 5일제 근무제의 시행 등으로 여가통행의 비중이 높아짐에 따라 평일과 주말의 교통량의 분산은 더욱 커질 것으로 예상된다. 따라서 교통정책을 평가하는 방법도 AADT OD의 일률적인 적용이 아닌 교통량의 계절별 평일/주말의 분산을 적용시킨 OD를 가지고 교통정책을 평가하는 방법이 교통정책을 결정함에 있어 오류를 범할 가능성을 적게 될 것으로 예상된다. 기존 연구에서는 이러한 교통량의 분산의 보정을 지점교통량에 한정하여 보정하고 있어 실질적인 네트워크 분석에 적용하기에는 무리가 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 관측된 TCS Data를 이용하여 계절별 평일/주말의 OD 교통 패턴을 분석하여 계절별 평일/주말의 OD 교통패턴을 반영할 수 있는 보정계수를 산출하고 산출된 보정계수에 따라 AADT OD를 보정하여 네트워크 분석의 기초 자료를 구축하였다. 수정된 OD 교통량의 검증을 위하여 기존의 AADT OD의 인구당 통행발생비율과 계절별 평일/주말 OD의 통행발생량을 비교하였다. 그 결과 소수점 두 자리수에서 오차가 발생하여 비교적 합리적인 OD가 추정되었다. 또한 기존의 AADT OD를 이용하여 정책 결정을 할 때의 오류 가능성을 보이기 위하여 각 계절별 평일/주말 OD 교통량과 기존의 AADT OD를 입력 자료로 각각의 네트워크 분석 후 총통행시간의 차이를 분석하였다. 그 결과 정책 결정에 영향을 미칠 수 있을 정도의 차이가 있는 것으로 분석되었다.
