서성광산 경작토의 중금속 존재형태

  • 일반적으로 폐광산 지역에 방치되어 있는 광미와 오염토양에 함유된 중금속원소는 자연 상태에서 물리ㆍ화학적 환경의 변화에 따라 자연정화 되거나, 또는 재용출되어 점 또는 비점오염원으로의 역할을 하기 때문에 광미와 오염된 토양에 존재하는 중금속의 존재형태를 규명 또는 예측하는 것은 매우 중요하다. 이에 따른 중금속의 오염평가와 존재형태를 규명하기 위해 서성 연ㆍ아연 폐광산 주변 경작토를 대상으로 Tessier et at. (1979)가 제시한 연속추출을 실시하였다. 그 결과는 As와 Cr이 잔류형태가 우세하여 안정한 상태로 존재하는 것으로 평가되었으며, 이에 반하여 Zn, Pb, Cu, Cd, Ni 및 Mn 등은 상대적으로 존재형태가 불안정한 것으로 평가되었다. 특히, As는 모두가 잔류형태로만 존재하는 것이 확인되어 As의 오염이 야기되지 않는 것으로 밝혀졌다.

  • This study is the application of phosphate magnesia cement for solidification of soils. The object of the study is the application of the pavment of the farm roads. The new pavement method must be environmental, ecologic and durable. So, for solidification of farm road's soil, we use magnesia cement as quick setting, high strength materials. At magnesia phosphate cement, mixing ratio of mono ammonium phosphate and magnesia is 4:6 and w/b is 50 wt%, it show 14 MPa of compressive strength, and high hydration heat. Solidified soils that mixing ratios of magnesia cement and soil are 4:6 and 5:5 have very high durability for freezing and thawing.

국내 도시 커뮤니티가든의 실태분석에 관한 연구

  • 오늘날의 정원(Garden)은 다양한 형태로 진화하고 있는데 이중 커뮤니티가든(Community Garden)은 도시화로 인하여 발생하는 개인과 사회의 문제를 해결하기 위한 대안으로 자리잡고 있다. 도시에서의 커뮤니티가든은 커뮤니티 활동을 활발하게 펼칠 수 있는 터가 되어주고 있는바 이에 국내 도시 커뮤니티가든에 대한 현황을 살펴보고 이를 위해 이론적고찰과 현장답사, 자료분석을 토대로 하여 한국적 맥락의 도시 커뮤니티가든에 대한 개념 정립을 위한 기초연구를 진행하였다. 국내 주요 도시 13곳 내에 위치한 35개 사례지를 선정하여 조사한 결과 한국적 맥락의 도시 커뮤니티가든은 주민조직과 지자체의 행정지도가 어우러진 도심내 유휴지 또는 마을 공터에 조성된 공동경작 또는 개인경작이 어우러진 정원이라 할 수 있다. 또한 한국의 도시 커뮤니티가든은 해당 지자체의 관리와 보조금 지급여부에 따라 커뮤니티가든의 물리적 상태가 달라졌으며 따라서, 주민조직체계에 대한 지원과 효율적인 관리시스템이 확립된다면 도시 커뮤니티가든의 지속가능성은 높아질 것으로 사료된다.

A Case Study of Landfarming Design Procedures for Remediation of Oil-contaminated Site (유류오염지역 정화를 위한 토양경작법 설계 표준화방안)

  • The purpose of this study was to suggest a standard design procedure of landfarming for clean-up of oil-contaminated soils. The standard design procedure consisted of four main phases; soil characterization, determination of contaminated soil volume, determination of nutrient and microbial doses, and estimation of the total remedial period. This study selected standard design parameter values or ranges among various forms used in environmental engineer communities. Those were determination procedures for the contaminated soil volume, the initial contamination concentration and nutrient doses. The suggested standard design procedure were applied for a landfarm design for remediation of a real oil-contaminated site. Soil texture of the site was classified as sandy clay loam and sandy loam. Total nitrogen and total phosphorus were estimated to be 57.01 mg/kg and 83.40 mg/kg, respectively. Also the viable bacterial numbers was assessed to be $1.78{\times}10^4CFU/g$ dry soil. The amount of TPH contaminated soil was estimated to be $4,092m^3$. With the application of remedial factors, it was estimated that the contaminated soil could be treated through 9 batches with a duration of 315 days for a landfarming unit of $15m{\times}40m{\times}1m$. The amount of liquid microorganisms and fertilizers were recommended to be 4,025L and 4,641kg, respectively.

  • As a second part of the study entitled "Field Measurement and Analysis of Fluvial Sediment in the Cheongmi-Strea", this study concerns mineralogical and contaminative characteristics of sediment particles collected at Wonbu-Gyo and Hanpyeong-Gyo in the Cheongmi-Stream. The mineralogical analysis of the bed sediment collected reveals that, in general , quarz is the most abundant mineral found in sands with feldspars and rock fragments in the next, which confirms what is known in the literature. The shape factor of sand particles is about 0.7, which also agrees to what is known in the foreign literature. The analysis also reveals that the clay particles collected are composed mainly of illite, kaolinate, and chlorite. The analysis of contamination reveals that there is no substantial difference between the contents of organic material and heavy metals in the surface water and those in the pore water beneath the river bed. It is because the sampling for this analysis was conducted right after the September flood during which the fresh top soil from the upstream watershed replaced the old bed sediment and pore water that would probably be more contaminated. The contents of geavy metals in the bed sediment of sand particles do not exceed those in the soils adjacent to the river. For fine sediment such as clays, however, the contents of heavy metals, especially of mercury and zinc, far exceed those in the soils adjacent to the river. These fine sediments are transported downstream in the form of wash load and deposited in part on flood plains, which could be a new source of contaminants.taminants.

Screening of Microorganisms with High Poly (butylene succinate-co-butylene adipate)-Degrading Activity (고활성 Poly(butylene succinate-co-butylene adipate) 분해균의 선발)

  • Microorganisms capable of degrading poly(butylene succinate-co-butylene adipate) (PBSA) were isolated from 40 soil samples such as landfill site soil, cultivating soil and activated sludge soil from 20 different sites in Korea by using the enrichment culture and the clear zone test at $37^{\circ}C$. Based on the 16S rDNA sequences, the isolated bacterium was identified to be Streptomyces sp. PBSA-1. Morphological and cultural characteristics were employed for the identification of the isolated fungi and they were proved to be Aspergillus fumigatus PBSA-2 and Aspergillus fumigatus PBSA-3. The PBSA degradation activity of the isolated microorganisms was enhanced through the serial acclimation in PBSA plate medium. The PBSA degrading microorganisms appeared to be highly active for the PBSA degradation in that 83% of PBSA was degraded by Streptomyces sp. PBSA-l, and 65% and 75% of PBSA was mineralized by A. fumigatus PBSA2 and A. fumigatus PBSA-3 respectively during 40 days of the modified Sturm test.

Effect of Municipal Sewage Sludge Application on the Contents of Heavy Metals Content in Paeonia abliflora Pall Root (도시하수오니의 처리가 작약뿌리의 중금속함량에 미치는 영향)

  • This study was conducted to find out the effect of municipal sewage sludge application on the yield and the heavy metal content in Paeonia abliflora Pall root. When the municipal sewage sludge was applied to the soil, the yields and growth of Paeonia abliflora Pall increased, and the contents of T-N, P in soils increased, while there is no difference in contents of heavy metals and inorganic materials in roots. Therefore, it is apparent that the contents of heavy metals in roots of paeonia abliflora Pall would not due to increase with the municipal sewage sludge application.

A Study on Management for the Cultivate Land of Greenhouses through Landscape Ecological Pattern Analysis in Seoul Urban Area (서울시의 경관생태학적 분석을 통한 시설경작지 관리 방안)

  • Reviewing the trend of land use in urban cultivated land, the large part of land has been changed into the high-profit cultivated land of green houses or the developing areas. So, its percent of cultivated land in land use comparing to the other types of cultivated land would get far higher. Therefore, this study aims to identify the characteristics of landscape ecological pattern in the cultivated land of green houses and to find its alternatives for management, which would be a basis of regional planning and management in terms of space and time. The cultivated land of green houses, whose its area reaches 19.3ha, in Seoul are mainly dispersed on the south eastern part of Seoul and its area is larger than the other types of cultivated lands. According to the result of shape index analysis, its perimeters were very simple. Also, Analyzing the first three major neighboring land use to the cultivated land of green houses, the most frequent biotope types of neighboring land use to the cultivated land of green houses were that transportation facility represented 60%, forest, 43%, the other types of cultivated land, 36%, and residential area, 33%. The cause why the percent of transportation facility was higher in the neigh-boring land use types was assumed for the production and distribution of crops. On the basis of the result of landscape ecological pattern analysis, the cultivated land would be managed and contributed to enhance biodiversity and urban environment preservation.

The Relationship between Soil Erosion and Cultivation in the Bockha Stream Watershed Area (복하천 유역의 토양유실량 및 경작지의 상관 분석)

  • In the past, flooding is commonly occurred in the Bockha stream watershed area with inundation by the water and eroded sediments. The purpose of this study is to find the relationship between area under cultivation and amount of soil erosion in each watershed areas using geographic information system(GIS) for decreasing the damages of flooding. The soil erosion amounts were computed on GIS using by universal soil loss equation(USLE). Small catchment areas was divided by topography and computed soil erosion amounts. The mean amount of soil erosion is 0.03 $ton/ha{\cdot}yr$ on the condition of the 1,329 mm/yr annual precipitation. The high erosion area(0.05 $ton/ha{\cdot}yr$) is shown in farm areas of the Sangyong-ri in Baeksa-myeon. The high erosion watershed area is related on the slopes of the farm lands and bare soil areas adjoining between the mountain slope and fluvial streams show much amount of soil erosion.
