The purpose of this study is to identify the core tasks, degree of professionalism on tasks, and job importance recognized by the library staff through job analysis. The results of this study will be able to take advantage of political materials about the staffing and organizational structure of public libraries in South Korea. Survey to target 49 librarians of public libraries in Gyeonggi Province was performed to job analysis. The 21.1% of library tasks was confirmed to be a high job importance, and the 69.6% of entire tasks had the high professionalism. And library staff members recognized that 73.1% of library tasks should be performed by librarians.

The purpose of this study is to examine the actual experience in establishing public libraries in I New Town, and then to propose how to build properly public libraries when new towns are constructed. In the case of I New Town, four public libraries were built in good locations but with considerable delay, and one of them was built 18 years after the new town plan was established. Those libraries are relatively bigger than the average public libraries in Korea, but their organizational structures are not ideal at all.

지난해 연말 일간지에 한 퇴임 교수의 공공도서관 장서 기증 소식이 소개되었다. 주인공은 리영희 전 한양대 교수로 그는 1970-80년대 청년학생들에겐 '사상의 은인'이었고, 맹목적 반공권력자들에겐 '의식화의 원흉'이었다. 한국의 대표적인 진보 지식인으로 손꼽혀 온 리영희 교수를 경기도 산본 자택에서 만나보았다.

Despite the importance and uses of serials in public libraries, the present condition of serial management is still behind. The purpose of this study is to investigate the problems and proposes the ways of improving serials management. For the purposes, this study conducted a literature review, case study of collection management policies of 8 regional central libraries and 3 public libraries abroad, and online questionnaire survey of 31 public libraries in Gyeong-gi province. Based on the results, this research suggests the need for extending the number and scope of serials subscriptions, improving access points and establishing management guidelines.

본 연구의 목적은 공공도서관에서 수행하고 있는 문화프로그램에 주부들이 참여함으로써 가족에게 어떤 영향을 미치는지 분석하는데 있다. 이를 위해 서울, 경기, 인천지역의 공공도서관 문화프로그램 참여 주부들을 대상으로, 공공도서관 문화프로그램의 주부 참여가 가족에게 미친 영향에 대한 23개의 설문항목을 동하여 조사 ${\cdot}$분석하였다. 이것을 기반으로 공공도서관의 주부대상 문화프로그램의 활성화 및 더 유용한 문화프로그램 개박을 위한 기초 자료를 삼고자 하는데 초점을 두었다

국민복지에 대한 사회적 관심과 복지실현의 핵심 요소로 도서관이 인식되면서 공공도서관의 수가 2000년대 들어 급격히 증가하고 있다. 1980년에 79개관에 불과했던 전국 공공도서관이 2013년 말 기준으로 885개관에 이르고 있으며, 공공도서관의 효율적 공간구성에 대한 이용자 요구가 증대되고 있다. 특히 이용자의 요구에 부응하기 위한 디지털열람실과 문화교육실의 증가는 2000년 전 후의 변화에 따른 시사점으로 나타나고 있으며, 기존 공간구성 비율에서 벗어나 시대에 적합한 도서관 공간계획이 필요한 시점이다. 이 연구는 1980~1990년대 준공된 공공도서관과 2000년 이후 설립된 공공도서관을 중심으로 시대별 공공도서관의 공간구성 형태를 상호 비교분석하였다. 장서보존과 열람 기능이 강조되었던 1980~1990년대와 이용자의 측면을 고려하여 문화영역 기능이 확대된 2000년대 이후 공공도서관의 소요시설별 면적비율의 차이를 살펴봄으로써 시대요구와 부합할 수 있는 면적기준을 제시하였다.

This study aimed to develop and validate a research model to investigate how the service quality of public libraries, where a 3-dimensional service quality model was applied, impacts user satisfaction and loyalty. We collected 353 valid responses through a survey targeting public library users across 21 locations, considering various regional and library-specific characteristics. Our analysis revealed that physical environment quality (PQ), interaction quality (IQ), and outcome quality (OQ) of service quality influence user satisfaction (US). Additionally, outcome quality (OQ) of service quality impacts user loyalty (UL), and user satisfaction (US) affects user loyalty (UL). We also found that quality improvement is a leading factor for user satisfaction, user satisfaction is the primary factor of user loyalty, and the perception of service quality directly and indirectly affects user satisfaction and loyalty. We concluded that continuous research should be actively conducted to respond to the evolving needs of public library users.

The numbers of population, areas, possessions, employees, operational budget, users, and circulated books in Korea Library Yearbook were collected for the purpose of analyzing the status of information disparity through libraries among four large regional groups in Korea in this paper. They were the main indicators of four types of libraries such as public, academic, special, and school ones. The collected data were classified into four regional groups, and were analyzed by using the comparisons of means such as t-test and ANOVA, and correlation coefficient if there is any significant differences among them or not.

The local bookstore direct loan service for users' requests in public libraries, which was launched in Gyeonggi Province, is a creative new service that has led to the revitalization of the local economy through the rise in sales of local bookstores and high user satisfaction. However, it is a service in which positive and negative reactions coexist as negative opinions are presented on the deterioration of the quality of public library books due to overlapping needs for desired books by users. Therefore, several ways of improving for local bookstore loan service in public libraries through a survey of public libraries, local bookstores, and users were suggested in this study. The local bookstore direct loan service for users' requests, which is a creative cooperation plan between public libraries and local bookstores, needs to constantly improve its services by increasing book purchase cost, organizing a steering committee for continuous communication and collecting plans through research on the book purchase cost. Also, it is necessary to improve its services by enacting regulations expanding reading culture services expanding the number of healthy users and fostering various local bookstores.

이 연구는 공공도서관 사서의 정보활용능력 수준에 대한 자기인식과 실제 평가를 통해 Big6모형을 기반으로 하여 공공도서관 사서의 정보활용능력 수준실태를 78명의 사서를 대상으로 실험하였다. 연구 결과, 정보요구 영역은 높게, 정보평가 영역에 대해서는 다른 영역보다 낮게 나타났지만 모든 영역에 대해서 평균이상으로 조사되어 사서들의 정보활용교육 필요성을 파악할 수 있었다. 특히 정보활용교육 경험여부에 대한 두 집단간의 차이는 정보이용 영역을 제외하고는 통계적으로 유의미하지 않음을 알 수 있었다.
