Development of natural transition synthesis and control UI technology of AR and VR for efficient XR production (효율적인 XR제작을 위한 AR과 VR의 자연스러운 전환 합성 및 제어 UI 기술 개발)

  • 최근 XR은 LED스크린의 VR과 그 LED 스크린의 외부영역을 AR 그래픽으로 덮는 방법으로 LED에서 표현되는 VR영상과 확장된 AR의 효과로 LED VR의 확장의 개념으로 가상환경 제작으로서 많이 시도 되고 있다. 그러나, 여전히 LED 스크린의 VR에서 어떤 가상의 객체가 AR로 튀어 나올 때 타이밍을 맞추어 전환해야 할 경우 부자연스럽거나 동기가 맞지 않아 합성결과가 어긋나 품질이 떨어지며, 여러 객체를 동시에 수동으로 전환시켜야 할 때 객체의 제어에 어려움이 많을 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 그래픽 오브젝트가 VR과 AR의 경계를 오갈 때 자동으로 자연스럽게 전환/합성 가능하도록 하는 'Culling 박스'와 또, 여러 렌더링 머신에서 같은 오브젝트 제어를 동시에 제어 가능한 'TCP/IP 기반의 원격제어 UI'를 설명한다. 컬링박스는 전환해야 할 객체가 많은 복잡한 장면에서 모든 오브젝트가 일정 경계에서 자동으로 전환되며, 원격제어 UI의 타임라인 에디터와 이벤트 제어메뉴 UI를 통하여, 각각의 다른 머신의 시퀀스 및 오브젝트들을 제어 가능하여 효율적인 XR제작이 가능함을 확인 하였다.

  • 4차 산업혁명 시대에는 산업간 경계를 뛰어넘는 혁신적 융합기술 기반 신산업 창출 및 성장동력 확보의 필요성이 제기되고 있으며, 이를 위해 관련 규제 개혁을 통한 창의적 기업활동 생태계 조성이 선행되어야 한다. 그동안 규제 개선을 위해 다양한 시책들이 추진되었으나 기술 발전의 속도를 따라잡지 못하고 있으며, 상대적으로 타 국가에 비해 과도한 규제로 인해 4차 산업혁명 대응에 있어 보다 혁신적인 변화가 요구된다. 이에 네거티브 규제 방식, 규제 샌드박스 등에 대한 검토를 통해 4차 산업혁명 시대에 적합한 규제 패러다임의 변화에 대해 분석하고자 한다.

Concrete Aging-Dependent Deflection Analysis of Flexural Composite Members Using Sectional Analysis Method (단면해석법을 이용한 합성형 휨 부재의 재령 종속적 처짐해석)

  • An analytical method to predict the time dependent flexural behavior of composite girder is presented based on sectional analysis. The time dependent constitutive relation accounting for the early-age concrete properties including maturing of elastic modulus, creep and shrinkage is derived in an incremental format by the first order Taylor series expansion. The sectional analysis calculates the axial and curvature strains based on the force and moment equilibriums. The deflection curve of the girder approximated by the quadratic polynomial function is calculated by applying to the proper boundary conditions in the consecutive segments. Numerical applications are made for the 3-span double composite steel box girder which is a composite bridge girder filled with concrete at the bottom of the steel box in the negative moment region. The calculated results are compared with those by finite element analysis results. Close agreement is observed between the two approaches.

Comic Image Normalization using the gradient Radon Transform based on OpenCL implementation (OpenCL 기반의 그래디언트 라돈변환을 이용한 만화영상의 정규화)

  • Digital comic images are one of popular contents on the Internet. Usually, they are scanned from comic books by digital scanners. Without post-processing, they may have different sizes, skews and margins other than contents at the boundary. To normalize the size of their contents without the skews and margins is an important step in comic image analysis and application such as content-based comic image retrieval system. In this paper, we propose a method to detect a box frame in comic images by extracting of line segments using the gradient Radon transform. The box frame in comic images is the maximum rectangle which consists of contents without margins. We use the detected box frame to normalize the size of comic images and to make them no skew. In addition, the proposed method is implemented by OpenCL to speed up the detection of the line segments. Experimental results show that our proposed method effectively detects the box frame in comic images.

  • 게임에서 충돌탐지는 게임의 성능향상을 위해 중요하다. 본 논문에서는 효율적인 충돌탐지를 위해 BSP 트리를 사용한다. 공격에 사용되는 스프라이트와 공격의 대상이 되는 스프라이트를 트리로 구성하여 빠른 시간내에 충돌탐지를 행한다. 또한 스프라이트의 모양에 따라 경계 볼륨(bounding volume)을 구와 박스(box)를 선택적으로 사용하여 충돌탐지에서 발생하는 문제점을 해결한다.

  • 본 논문에서는 인간의 시각적인 감각을 멀티미디어 컨텐츠의 UMA 변환 서비스에 적용하여 영상의 다양한 디스플레이 크기의 사용자 단말기에 맞게 효율적으로 변화(해상도 축소나 Cropping) 기법을 제안하고 있다. 즉, 영상의 중요한 객체를 사각형 경계박스로 표시한 후 각각의 객체의 저자의 의도대로 사용자가 지각적으로 인식할 수 있는 최소의 공간 해상도 축소 정보를 정의하여, 영상의 변환 시 각각 객체를 사용자가 충분히 인식할 수 있는 한계치로 사용하여 효율적인 UMA 서비스를 보장하는 사용자 자원 재분배 기법을 제안한다. 또한, 본 논문에서 제안된 알고리즘을 기존의 방식과 비교하여 실험적으로 그 장단점을 비교한다.

Vehicle Detection in Dense Area Using UAV Aerial Images (무인 항공기를 이용한 밀집영역 자동차 탐지)

  • This paper proposes a vehicle detection method for parking areas using unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and using YOLOv2, which is a recent, known, fast, object-detection real-time algorithm. The YOLOv2 convolutional network algorithm can calculate the probability of each class in an entire image with a one-pass evaluation, and can also predict the location of bounding boxes. It has the advantage of very fast, easy, and optimized-at-detection performance, because the object detection process has a single network. The sliding windows methods and region-based convolutional neural network series detection algorithms use a lot of region proposals and take too much calculation time for each class. So these algorithms have a disadvantage in real-time applications. This research uses the YOLOv2 algorithm to overcome the disadvantage that previous algorithms have in real-time processing problems. Using Darknet, OpenCV, and the Compute Unified Device Architecture as open sources for object detection. a deep learning server is used for the learning and detecting process with each car. In the experiment results, the algorithm could detect cars in a dense area using UAVs, and reduced overhead for object detection. It could be applied in real time.

Object Tracking using Color Histogram and CNN Model (컬러 히스토그램과 CNN 모델을 이용한 객체 추적)

  • In this paper, we propose an object tracking algorithm based on color histogram and convolutional neural network model. In order to increase the tracking accuracy, we synthesize generic object tracking using regression network algorithm which is one of the convolutional neural network model-based tracking algorithms and a mean-shift tracking algorithm which is a color histogram-based algorithm. Both algorithms are classified through support vector machine and designed to select an algorithm with higher tracking accuracy. The mean-shift tracking algorithm tends to move the bounding box to a large range when the object tracking fails, thus we improve the accuracy by limiting the movement distance of the bounding box. Also, we improve the performance by initializing the tracking start positions of the two algorithms based on the average brightness and the histogram similarity. As a result, the overall accuracy of the proposed algorithm is 1.6% better than the existing generic object tracking using regression network algorithm.

  • This study is about the modeling and simulation of heat transfer in the box for packaging and shipping of vaccines. Comparison of the simulation results with experimental data revealed that a one-dimensional model (a spherical model of using a radius equivalent to the rectangular geometry of box) showed good agreement with experimental data during cooling process but did not successfully simulate heating process. It is considered that a rigorous boundary condition is not properly applied for outer surface of the box. However, we could successfully develop a basic algorithm for simulating heat transfer through multi-slabs combined with different materials including phase change material.

  • In this study, the numerical fire analysis for temperature distribution and spalling behavior of underground concrete box structures that contained lifelines, such as power cables and communication cables. The temperature field of inner space was assumed based on the fire curve with the thermal gradient obtained from CFD analysis. It was assumed that the spalling behaviors of concrete are occurred when the concrete temperature reached the threshold, as dehydration degree. In this case, the elements correspond to spalling parts were removed and the analysis model were updated. Three fire scenarios were analyzed and the results were showed adequate spalling behavior. The bearing capacities of the box structures would be estimated in the companion paper.
