A Study on Predictors of Academic Achievement in College Students : Focused on J University (대학생의 학업성취도 예측요인 연구 : J 대학을 중심으로)

  • The purpose of this study is to establish a model for predicting academic achievement of college students and to reveal the interrelationship and relative influence of each factor. For this, we surveyed the personal factors and learning strategy factors of 1,310 learners at J University, and analyzed the discriminant factors and patterns of the predictors of academic achievement through the decision tree analysis, a data mining method, and examined the relative effects of each factor. Binary logistic regression analysis was performed for viewing. As a result, the most important factor for predicting academic achievement was efficacy, and other factors such as motivation, time management, and depression were predictive of academic achievement. The patterns of factors predicting academic achievement were found to be high in efficacy and time management, and high in motivation for learning even if the efficacy was moderate. Low efficacy and learning motivation, and high depression have been shown to decrease academic achievement. Based on these results, the study suggested the efficacy and motivation to improve academic achievement of college students, strengthening time management education, and managing negative emotions.

  • 도시화와 토지이용 변화로 인하여 도시지역의 불투수면적이 증가하고 있으며, 이로 인해 발생하는 홍수, 가뭄, 수질악화 등의 해결은 수자원 계획 및 관리에 있어서 중요한 과제이다. 저영향개발(LID, Low Impact Development) 기법은 물 순환 체계를 복원할 수 있는 대안으로 도시지역에서 물 관리를 통해 하천 복원 및 수자원 관리를 가능하게 해주는 기술로써, EPA SWMM의 업그레이드 버전에서는 저영향개발 기술과 관련된 시설의 설계를 통한 유출 모의가 가능해졌다. 그러나 SWMM 모형 내에서 저영향개발 시설을 설계 및 계획하기 위해서는 저영향시설과 관련된 다양한 매개변수들을 입력해야하며, 효과적인 시설의 설계를 위해서는 반복적인 모의 수행이 동반된다. 이에 본 연구에서는 SWMM 모형을 기반으로 저영향개발 시설의 설계를 위한 의사결정지원시스템인 WMAM(Water Management Analysis Module)을 개발하였다. WMAM은 저영향개발 시설과 관련된 다양한 매개변수 중에서 최종 유출량에 영향을 미치는 매개변수의 추출이 가능하다. 또한, 저영향개발 시설의 설계 및 계획 매개변수에 대한 다양한 시나리오를 생성하고, 짧은 시간에 동시에 모의 분석을 수행하여 수문학적 측면에서 효과적인 시나리오를 도출해준다. 본 연구에서는 WMAM의 효과성을 보여주고자 A대학교를 모델링한 SWMM 모형에 저영향개발 시설 중 하나인 침투트렌치의 (1)계획 전과 (2)계획 후, 그리고 (3)WMAM을 적용하였을 경우의 첨두유량과 침투손실 결과를 비교하였다. 침투트렌치 설치 전의 첨두유량은 약 0.48 CMS로 세가지 경우 중 가장 높은 값을 보였으며, 침투트렌치 설지 후와 WMAM을 활용한 경우의 첨두유량은 점차 낮아졌다. 또한, 침투손실량을 보면 설치전에는 약 0.28 m로 가장 낮았으며, 설치 후 그리고 WMAM을 활용하였을 경우는 점차 그 값이 높아졌다. 본 연구를 통해, WMAM이 저영향개발 시설의 설계 및 계획에 있어서 수문학적으로 효과적인 결과를 보이는 것을 확인할 수 있었으며, 향후 보완과 추가 개발을 통해 수자원 계획 및 관리에 있어서 유용한 프로그램이 될 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

A Study on Market Segmentation Based on E-Commerce User Reviews Using Clustering Algorithm (클러스터링 기법을 활용한 이커머스 사용자 리뷰에 따른 시장세분화 연구)

  • Recently, as COVID-19 has made the e-commerce market expand widely, customers who have different consumption patterns appear in the market. Because companies can obtain opinions and information of customers from reviews, they increasingly face the requirements of managing customer reviews on online platform. In this study, we analyze customers and carry out market segmentation for classifying and defining type of customers in e-commerce. Specifically, K-means clustering was conducted on customer review data collected from Wemakeprice online shopping platform, which leads to the result that six clusters were derived. Finally, we define the characteristics of each cluster and propose a customer management plan. This paper is possible to be used as materials which identify types of customers and it can reduce the cost of customer management and make a profit for online platforms.

  • The ultimate objective of Personal Information Management (PIM) is to collect, handle and manage wanted information in a systematic way that enables individuals to search the information more easily and effectively, However, existing personal information management systems are usually based on a traditional hierarchical directory model for storing information, limiting effective organization and retrieval of information as well as providing less support in search by associative interrelationship between objects (documents) and their attributes, To improve these problems, in this paper we propose a personal information management model based on the concept lattice of Formal Concept Analysis (FCA) to easily build and maintain individuals' own information on the Web, The proposed system can overcome the limitations of the traditional hierarchy approach as well as supporting search of other useful information by the inter-relationships between objects and their attributes in the concept lattice of FCA beyond a narrow search.

Examining the Intellectual Structure of Records Management & Archival Science in Korea with Text Mining (텍스트 마이닝을 이용한 국내 기록관리학 분야 지적구조 분석)

  • In this study, the intellectual structure of Records Management & Archival Science in Korea was analyzed using document clustering, a widely used method of text mining, and document similarity network analysis. The data used in this study were 145 articles written on the subject of Records Management & Archival Science selected from five major representative journals in the field of Library & Information Science in Korea, published from 2001 to 2006. The results of cluster analysis show that the core subject areas are "electronic records management and digital Preservation," "records management policy and institution," "records description and catalogues." and "records management domain and education." The results of document analysis, which is more detailed than cluster analysis, show that "digital archiving," a specialized subject in digital preservation, plays a central role. The results of serial analysis, which proceeds according to a timeline, show the emergence of "archival services" as a new subject area.

BestChoice SRM: A Simple and Practical Supplier Relationship Management System for e-Procurement (BestChoice SRM: 전자 조달을 위한 단순하며 실질적인 공급사 관계 관리 시스템)

  • Supplier relationship management (SRM) is an important contributor to a company's efficiency and credibility. Although several ways are used to provide SRM functionality, these are often not easily integrated with existing procurement systems. We designed and implemented a practical SRM system called BestChoice SRM and present its design and architecture. It has the core functionality of SRM with the simple adaptability of BestChoice which is a decision support system for evaluating suppliers with the aid of visualized analysis It allows seamless integration with existing systems and permits flexible strategy changes as market conditions shift. The key to this flexibility is template-based segmentation. Ease of integration was demonstrated through the installation of BestChoice SRM at a major Korean commercial e-procurement agency.

  • This study aims to present basic data for enhancing the capability of the work by clarifying the duties of the national and public university record management personnel and using IPA (Importance-Performance Analysis) techniques to identify differences and characteristics of the work by job and experience. To this end, the records management personnel of national and public universities were analyzed and surveyed, and the statistical analysis and IPA Matrix were conducted. As measures to solve problems derived from the results of the analysis, mandatory placement of national and public university record researchers, securing budget for performing their work, collection of university history records through various channels, supplementation and revision of records management institutions, and adjustment of job competency based on experience were proposed.

  • 인위적, 자연적 요인에 의한 물순환 왜곡과 물순환 건전성 저하는 이수, 치수, 환경 등 다양한 물 관리 분야의 문제를 일으키고 있다. 이에 건전한 유역 물순환 관리에 관한 사회적 요구가 증대되고 있다. 유역의 물순환 관리를 위해서는 유역 전반의 물 이동과 물 이용에 관한 정량적인 평가가 선행되어야 하고, 유역의 물순환 건전성을 평가할 수 있는 체계가 필요하다. 이 연구에서 물순환 정량화를 위해 자연계 및 인공계 물순환 요소를 반영한 유역 유출 모형을 구축하였고, 관측 자료와 모형을 통해 분석된 결과를 이용하여 물순환을 정량화하였다. 한편, 물순환 건전성 평가를 위해 물환경, 물이용, 물안전의 3가지 범주 내에 수질 관리, 비점오염 관리, 수생태 관리, 하천유지기능, 지하수 보전, 치수 관리, 이수 관리의 7가지 항목에 대한 건전성을 평가할 수 있는 평가지표와 기준을 제시하였다. 그리고 계층 분석적 의사결정 기법에 따른 가중치를 이용하여 7개의 평가항목을 종합한 물순환 건전성 지수(hydrologic soundness index; HSI)를 도입하였다. 구성된 물순환 정량화 및 건전성 평가체계를 경안천과 남강, 미호천, 황룡강 중권역에 적용하여 중권역별로 필요한 물순환 개선 사업과 투자 우선순위가 높은 표준유역을 식별하였다. 이 연구에서 제시한 물순환 정량화 및 건전성 평가체계는 유역의 다양한 물 문제를 객관적으로 진단하는 한 가지 방편으로서, 유역의 물 문제 해결을 위한 기술적 정보 제공에 이바지할 수 있다.

Playback Quantity-based Proxy Caching Scheme for Continuous Media Data (재생량에 기반한 연속미디어 데이터 프록시 캐슁 기법)

  • In this paper, we propose a proxy caching scheme that stores a portion of a continuous media object or an entire object on the Internet. The proxy stores the initial fraction of a continuous media object and determines the optimal size of the initial fraction of the continuous media object to be cached based on the object popularity. Under the proposed scheme, the initial latency of most clients and the data transferred from a remote server can be reduced and limited cache storage space can be utilized efficiently. Considering the characteristics of continuous media, we also propose the novel popularity for the continuous media objects based on the amount of the data of each object played by the clients. Finally, we have performed trace-driven simulations to evaluate our caching scheme and the popularity for the continuous media objects. Through these simulations, we have verified that our caching scheme, PPC outperforms other well-known caching schemes in terms of BHR, DSR and replacement and that popularity for the continuous media objects based on the amount of the playback data can enhance the performance of caching scheme.

The Blog Polarity Classification Technique using Opinion Mining (오피니언 마이닝을 활용한 블로그의 극성 분류 기법)

  • Previous polarity classification using sentiment analysis utilizes a sentence rule by product reviews based rating points. It is difficult to be applied to blogs which have not rating of product reviews and is possible to fabricate product reviews by comment part-timers and managers who use web site so it is not easy to understand a product and store reviews which are reliability. Considering to these problems, if we analyze blogs which have personal and frank opinions and classify polarity, it is possible to understand rightly opinions for the product, store. This paper suggests that we extract high frequency vocabularies in blogs by several domains and choose topic words. Then we apply a technique of sentiment analysis and classify polarity about contents of blogs. To evaluate performances of sentiment analysis, we utilize the measurement index that use Precision, Recall, F-Score in an information retrieval field. In a result of evaluation, using suggested sentiment analysis is the better performances to classify polarity than previous techniques of using the sentence rule based product reviews.
