An applicability estimation of the HSPF model considering watershed scale (유역의 규모를 고려한 HSPF 모형의 적용성 평가)

  • 최근에 들어 도시화와 이상기후의 영향으로 유역에서의 유출특성과 오염물질 발생특성이 변화하고 있어 이에 따라 체계적인 유역 관리가 요구되고 있다. 우리나라는 하천 및 호소에 대한 수질 관리를 생활하수, 공장폐수 등 점오염원을 중심으로 수질관리정책 및 대책을 추진하여 왔으나, 오염물질의 상당량은 비점오염원에서 유발되고 있다. 또한 오염총량제의 실시 이후 국내에서는 비점오염원 관리의 중요성이 점오염원에 비해 상대적으로 높아짐으로서 유역수질모델링의 중요성을 인식하고 있으며, 비점오염원에 관련된 연구도 활발히 진행되고 있다. 이를 위해 유역의 유출 및 수질 분석을 효율적으로 하기 위해 유역간 물질의 교환 및 전달이 유역 규모에 따라 얼마나 높은 정확성을 나타내는지를 분석하고 이를 검토하여 효과적인 유역수질모델링의 방법이 제시되어야 한다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 통합적 수질관리의 필요성 증대에 따라, 유역 내 수문 순환 및 비점 오염원의 발생 거동을 정량적으로 분석할 수 있는 HSPF(Hydrologic Simulation Program - Fortran) 모형을 통해 오염총량 단위유역을 각각의 소유역으로 순차적으로 모의하여 검 보정을 수행 후 그 결과로 계산된 매개변수들을 단위유역 전체에 대한 분석에 입력하여 수행한 모의 결과와 비교 평가하였다. 또한, 이를 바탕으로 비점오염원에 의한 유역 내 하천 수질 영향도를 파악하였다. 유량 및 수질해석을 위하여 남강유역의 2004년부터 2007년까지 강우와 기상자료, 유량과 오염원 자료를 수집하여 입력 자료를 구축하였다. 또한, 대상유역에 해당되는 환경기초시설의 방류 유량 및 수질을 유입시킴으로써 HSPF모의가 진행되었다. 하천수질에 영향을 줄 수 있는 비점오염원은 강우 및 기상 관련 자료의 입력을 통하여 유역 내 유출 조건의 초기입력을 수행하였으며, 강우 입력에 따른 유출에 영향을 고려하기 위하여 토지이용 및 토양도를 고려하였다. 그리고 유역의 규모를 고려하였을 때 오염총량 단위유역의 유역 규모에 따라 모의를 실시한 결과를 바탕으로 HSPF 모형의 정확성 여부를 판단하여 정확성이 높은 방법을 선택할 수 있도록 하였다. 모의결과 소유역을 순차적으로 모의한 결과(CaseA)가 전체유역을 모의한 결과(CaseB)보다 실측치와 더 높은 상관계수를 나타냄을 알 수 있었다. 본 연구에서의 평가방법을 바탕으로 유역수질모델링이 이루어진다면 추후 비점오염원에 대한 효과적인 관리에 도움이 될 것이며, 모니터링 기법 및 GIS기반 유역관리모델 개발, 4대강 비점오염원 최적관리기법 연구 등에 활용할 수 있을 것으로 사료된다.

Seismic Techniques for the Integrated Assessment of Structural Integrity of Concrete Runway (콘크리트 활주로 건전도상태의 종합평가를 위한 비파괴 탄성파기법)

  • Concrete pavement may suffer from material deterioration or structural problems, which lead to surface cracks and deflection of a concrete pavement. Degraded concrete pavement, when it is still under operation, should be recovered by an urgent maintenance to avoid the discontinued service leading to the significant traffic problems and economic loss. Seismic techniques are good tools to assess the structural integrity of concrete runway. It is because seismic techniques can evaluate engineering properties nondestructively and quickly and the evaluation can be extended to subgrade. In this study, a series of numerical simulations of stress-wave propagation were performed to verify feasibility of seismic techniques as an assessment tool. Based on the results of the numerical simulation, a framework of using seismic techniques was presented fur the nondestructive integrated assessment fur structural integrity of concrete runway. And the presented framework was applied to $\bigcirc\bigcirc$ concrete runway with surface cracks, which required urgent maintenance, to identify the causes of the surface cracks. The results obtained from the structural integrity assessment were compared with the measurements of the cores collected from the same runway for verification of the presented framework.

  • 자발적 컴퓨팅은 인터넷의 연결된 가정 혹은 사무실의 PC를 집적하여 고성능 컴퓨팅을 창출하고자 하는 것이 목표이다. 이는 많은 자원제공자가 참여할 수 있도록 확장성이 보장되어야 한다. 하지만 기존의 자발적컴퓨팅 시스템에서는 중앙관리서버에 의해서만 작업분배가 이루어지므로 서버의 병목현상이 발생하게 된다. 본 논문에서는 결함포용에 사용되는 중복수행기법을 이용하여 P2P기반의 중복작업분배기법을 제안한다. 제안하는 P2P기반 중복작업분배기법은 서버의 병목현상을 줄이고, 서버의 결함 시에도 일정시간 서비스를 유지할 수 있는 강건함을 보였다.

  • This paper proposes a new approach to rollback-recovery using multi-agent in distributed computing system. Previous rollback-recovery protocols are dependent on inherent communication and operating system, which causes a decline of computing performance in distributed computing system. By using multi-agent, we propose rollback-recovery protocol that is independent on operating system. We define three kinds of agent. One is a recovery agent that performs rollback-recovery protocol after a failure. Other is an information agent that constructs domain knowledge as a rule of fault tolerance and information during failure-free operation. The other is facilitator agent that controls the efficient communication between agents. Also we propose rollback-recovery protocol using multi-agent and simulated the proposed rollback-recovery protocol using JAVA and agent communication language in CORBA environment.

  • GFR 서비스는 ATM 네트워크에서 인터넷 트래픽을 효과적으로 처리하기 위하여 ATM 포럼에서 정의되었다. 단순 FIFO 기반 GFR 구현 기법은 가상 연결 단위의 계수기나 분리된 버퍼 관리가 필요치 않아 실용적이지만, QoS가 만족스럽지 않다. 본 논문은 이 구현 기법의 QoS를 개선할 수 있는 방안을 찾기 위해, 이 구현 기법의 문제점을 명확히 하고자 컴퓨터 시뮬레이션을 수행하고 그 결과를 분석하였다. TCP 트래픽에 따른 성능 평가를 위해 Tahoe와 New-Reno 두 버전을 각각 적응하였다.

An Efficient Buffer Management Scheme for TCP Traffic Transmission in ATM Networks (ATM망에서 TCP 트래픽 전송을 위한 효율적 버퍼관리 기법)

  • The Guaranteed Frame Rate(GFR) service has been designed to accomodate non-real-time applications, such as TCP/IP based traffic in ATM networks. The GFR service not only guarantees a minimum throughput at the frame level, but also supports a fair share of available resources. In this paper, we propose a cell scheduling scheme which can improve the fairness and the goodput through the traffic control in GFR service. For the evaluation of the proposed scheme, we compare the proposed scheme with the existing scheme in the fairness and the goodput. Simulation results show that proposed scheme can improve the fairness and goodput comparing with the existing buffer management scheme.

  • This paper analyzes file access characteristics of smartphone apps and finds that a large portion of file writes are performed only once. Based on this observation, we present a new buffer cache management scheme that considers this characteristics. Buffer cache improves storage performance by maintaining hot file data in memory thereby servicing subsequent requests without storage accesses. However, it should flush modified data to storage in order to resist system crashes. The proposed scheme evicts cache data that has been written only once upon flushes, thus improving cache space utilization. Simulation experiments show that the proposed scheme improves cache hit ratio by 5-33% and power consumption by 27-92%.

  • Traditional databases exploit a record-based model, where the attributes of a record are placed contiguously in a slow hard disk to achieve high performance. On the other hand, for read-intensive data analysis systems, the column-based compressed database has become a proper model because of its superior read performance. Currently, flash memory SSD is largely recognized as the preferred storage media for high-speed analysis systems. This paper introduces a compressed column-storage model and proposes a new index and its data management scheme for a high-capacity data warehouse system. The proposed index management scheme is based on the asymmetric index duplication and achieves superior search performance using the master index and compact index, particularly for large read-mostly databases. In addition, the data management scheme contributes to the read performance and high reliability by compressing the related columns and replicating them in two mirrored SSD. Based on the results of the performance evaluation under the high workload conditions, the data management scheme outperforms the traditional scheme in terms of the search throughput and response time.

Integral Method of Stability Analysis and Maintenance of Slope (비탈면 안정해석과 유지관리의 통합해석기법)

  • Even if the various data analyzing methods were suggested to examine the measured slope behaviors, it is difficult to find methods or procedures for connecting the analyzed results of slope stability and measured slope data. This research suggests the analyzing methods combing the stability analysis and measured data based on progressive failure of slope. Slope failure analysis by time degradation were calculated by strength parameters composed of strength reduction coefficients, also which were compared to the measured data according to the variations of safety factor and displacement of slopes. The accumulated displacement curve were shown as 3rd degree polynomials by suggested procedures, which was the same as before researches. The reverse displacement velocity curves were shown as linear function for prediction of brittle slope failures, also they were shown as 3rd degree polynomials for ductile slope failures, which were the same as the suggested equation by Fukuzono (1985) and they were very similar behaviors to the in-situ failure cases.

Priority-based Hint Management Scheme for Improving Page Sharing Opportunity of Virtual Machines (가상머신의 페이지 공유 기회를 향상시키기 위한 우선순위 큐 기반 힌트 관리 기법)

  • Most data centers attempt to consolidate servers using virtualization technology to efficiently utilize limited physical resources. Moreover, virtualized systems have commonly adopted contents-based page sharing mechanism for page deduplication among virtual machines (VMs). However, previous page sharing schemes are limited by the inability to effectively manage accumulated hints which mean sharable pages in stack. In this paper, we propose a priority-based hint management scheme to efficiently manage accumulated hints, which are sent from guest to host for improving page sharing opportunity in virtualized systems. Experimental results show that our scheme removes pages with low sharing potential, as compared with the previous schemes, by efficiently managing the accumulated pages.
