Rheological Properties and Foaming Behaviors of Modified PP/Nano-filler Composites (개질 폴리프로필렌/나노필러 복합체의 유변학적 특성 및 발포거동)

  • Modified polypropylene (m-PP) was fabricated by furfuryl sulphide (FS) as branching agent and m-PP/nano-filler composites were prepared with silicate and multi-walled carbon nanotube (MWCNT), using a twin screw extruder. The chemical structures and thermal properties of the m-PP were investigated by FTIR and DSC. The chemical structure of the m-PP was confirmed by the existence of =C-H stretching peak of the branching agent at 3100 $cm^{-1}$. There was no district change in melting temperature in case of m-PP, but a certain increase in crystallization temperature was notified and the increase was in the range of $10-20^{\circ}C$. The rheological properties, filler dispersion and foaming behaviors of the m-PP/nano-filler composites were investigated by dynamic rheometer, X-ray diffractometer (XRD) and scanning/transmission electron microscope (SEM/TEM). m-PP/nano-filler composites showed a high complex viscosity at a low frequency, an increase in melt elasticity, and a high shear thinning effect. Compared to pure PP, m-PP and m-PP/nano-filler composites were sufficient to enhance the foaming behavior.

Automatic Extraction of Training Dataset Using Expectation Maximization Algorithm - for Automatic Supervised Classification of Road Networks (기대최대화 알고리즘을 활용한 도로노면 training 자료 자동추출에 관한 연구 - 감독분류를 통한 도로 네트워크의 자동추출을 위하여)

  • In the paper, we propose the methodology to extract training dataset automatically for supervised classification of road networks. For the preprocessing, we co-register the airborne photos, LIDAR data and large-scale digital maps and then, create orthophotos and intensity images. By overlaying the large-scale digital maps onto generated images, we can extract the initial training dataset for the supervised classification of road networks. However, the initial training information is distorted because there are errors propagated from registration process and, also, there are generally various objects in the road networks such as asphalt, road marks, vegetation, cars and so on. As such, to generate the training information only for the road surface, we apply the Expectation Maximization technique and finally, extract the training dataset of the road surface. For the accuracy test, we compare the training dataset with manually extracted ones. Through the statistical tests, we can identify that the developed method is valid.

교류형 플라즈마 방전 표시기 방전유지 전압의 전압 상승 시간의 변화에 따른 방전 현상의 변화

  • 교류형 플라즈마 방전 표시기(AC Plasma Display Panel, AC PDP)의 구동에서의 방전 현상은 기입방전, 유지방전, 소거 방전이 있다. 이중 유지 방전은 표시장치로서의 휘도와 계조의 표현을 위한 방전으로 표시기로서의 효율을 결정하게 된다. 본 연구에서는 유지 방전 전압의 상승 시간의 변화에 따른 방전현상과 휘도, 효율의 변화를 살펴 보았다. 방전 현상에서의 가장 큰 변화는 교류형 플라즈마 방전 표시기의 방전 개시 전압과 방전 유지 전압의 변화이다. 유지 전압의 상승시간이 증가할수록 방전 개시 전압과 방전 유지 전압의 변화이다. 유지 전압의 상승 시간이 증가할수록 방전 개시 전압과 방전 유지 전압의 차(sustain margin)는 감소하여 상승 시간이 1$\mu$s/100V 이상의 영역에서는 방전 개시 전압과 방전 유지 전압이 차이가 없어지게 된다. 이는 방전 유지 전극 위의 유전체에 쌓이게 되는 벽전하(wall charge) 양의 감소에 의한 방전 약화의 영향을 보여질 수 있다. 그러나 방전 유지 전압의 형태와 전류의 시간적인 변화를 살펴보면 이러한 약한 방전은 벽전하의 감소에 의한 방전 시의 전계 감소보다는 방전 전류의 발생 시간이 방전 전압이 증가하여 최고점에 이르지 못한 시간에 위치하여 방전이 형성될 때의 전계가 강하지 못하기 때문인 것을 알 수 있다. 방전 전류를 측정한 결과에 의하면 방전 전류의 시작은 변위 전류가 흐르고 난 후부터 시작되며 그 결과 방전 전류가 최고점에 도달하는 시간은 방전 전압 상승 시간이 길어질수록 낮은 전압에서 형성되게 된다. 또한 방전 유지 전압의 상승 시간이 길어질수록 플라즈마 방전표시기의 휘도와 효율은 낮아지고 이 결과 또한 약한 전계에서의 방전에 의한 결과로 생각되어진다.플라즈마의 강도값을 입력하여 플라즈마의 radiation을 검출하고, 스퍼터링 공정중 실질적인 in-situ 정보로 이용하였다. PEM을 통하여 In/Sn의 플라즈마 강도변화를 조사하였다. 초기 In/Sn의 플라즈마 강도(intensity)는 강도를 100하여, 산소를 주입한 결과, plasma intensity가 35 줄어들었고, 이때 우수한 ITO 박막을 얻을 수 있었다. Pulsed DC power를 사용하여 아크 현상을 방지하였다. PET 상에 coating 된 ITO 박막의 표면저항과 광투과도는 4-point prove와 spectrophotometer를 이용하여 분석하였고, AES로 박막의 두께에 따른 성분비를 확인하였다. ITO 박막의 광투과도는 산소의 유량과 sputter 된 In/Sn ion의 plasma emission peak에 따라 72%-92%까지 변화하였으며, 저항은 37$\Omega$/$\square$ 이상을 나타내었다. 박막의 Sn/In atomic ratio는 0.12, O/In의 비율은 In2O3의 화학양론적 비율인 1.5보다 작은 1.3을 나타내었다.로 보인다.하면 수평축과 수직축의 분산 장벽의 비에 따라 cluster의 두께비가 달라지는 성장을 볼 수 있었고, 한 축 방향으로의 팔 넓이는 fcc(100) 표면의 경우 동일한 Ed+Ep값에 대응하는 팔 넓이와 거의 동일한 결과가 나타나는 것을 볼 수 있다. 따라서 이러한 비대칭적인 모양을 가지는 성장의 경우도 cluster 밀도, cluster 모양, cluster의 양 축 방향 길이 비, 양 축 방향의 평균 팔 넓이로부터 각 축 방향의 분산 장벽을 얻어낼 수 있을 것으로 보인다. 기대할 수 있는 여러 장점들을 보고하고자 한다.성이 우수한 시

  • The generalized Hamming weight is one of the important parameters of the linear code. It determines the performance of the code when the linear codes are applied to a cryptographic system. In addition, when the block code is decoded by soft decision using the lattice diagram, it becomes a measure for evaluating the state complexity required for the implementation. In particular, a bit-parallel multiplier on finite fields based on trinomials have been studied. Cellular automata(CA) has superior randomness over LFSR due to its ability to update its state simultaneously by local interaction. In this paper, we deal with the efficient synthesis of the pseudo random number generator, which is one of the important factors in the design of effective cryptosystem. We analyze the property of the characteristic polynomial of the simple 90/150 transition rule block, and propose a synthesis algorithm of the reversible 90/150 CA corresponding to the trinomials $x^2^n+x^{2^n-1}+1$($n{\geq}2$) and the 90/150 reversible CA(RCA) corresponding to the maximum weight polynomial with $2^n$ degree by using this rule block.

Study on the 2G High Temperature Superconducting Coil for Large Scale Superconducting Magnetic Energy Storage Systems (대용량 에너지 저장장치용 2세대 고온 초전도 코일의 특성해석)

  • Large scale superconducting magnetic energy storage (SMES) system requires very high magnetic energy density in its superconducting coils to enhance the energy capacity and efficiency of the system. The recent high temperature superconducting (HTS) conductors, so called 2G conductors, show very good performance under very high magnetic field so that they seem to be perfect materials for the large scale SMES coils. A general shape of the coil system with the 2G HTS conductor has been a tor oid, because the magnetic field applied perpendicularly to the surface of the 2G HTS conductor could be minimized in this shape of coil. However, a toroid coil requires a 3-dimensional computation to acquire the characteristics of its critical current density - magnetic field relations which needs very complicated numerical calculation, very high computer specification, and long calculation time. In this paper, we suggested an analytic and statistical calculation method to acquire the maximum magnetic flux density applied perpendicularly to the surface of the 2G HTS conductor and the stored energy in the toroid coil system. Although the result with this method includes some errors but we could reduce these errors within 5 percent to get a reasonable estimation of the important parameters for design process of the HTS toroid coil system. As a result, the calculation time by the suggested method could be reduced to 0.1 percent of that by the 3-dimensional numerical calculation.

Synthesis and Optical Properties of M-Si(Al)-O-N (M: Sr, Ca) Phosphors for white Light Emitting Diodes (백색 발광다이오드용 M-Si(Al)-O-N (M: Sr, Ca) 형광체의 합성 및 발광 특성)

  • Oxynitride green phosphors for white light emitting diodes (LEDs) were synthesized and their optical properties were evaluated. The N/O ratio ($\delta$) of $SrSi_2O_{2-{\delta}}N_{2+2/3{\delta}}:Eu^{2+}$ closely depended on the synthesizing conditions. The most excellent green emission (545 nm), which was assigned to the $5d{\rightarrow}4f$ transition of $Eu^{2+}$ ions, was achieved at the conditions of $1700^{\circ}C$, 5 mol% $Eu^{2+}$, and $H_2$ atmosphere. The well-developed $Ca-{\alpha}-SiAlON:Yb^{2+}$ particles with homogeneous size were obtained at m = 3 (n = 0.15) for the compound of $Ca_{0.5m-0.005}Yb_{0.005}Si_{12-(m+n)}Al_{m+n}O_nN_{16-n}$, resulting in the strong green emission at around 550 nm.

Security Analysis of Block Ciphers Designed with BOGI Strategy against Differential Attacks (BOGI 전략으로 설계된 블록 암호의 차분 공격에 대한 안전성 분석)

  • The upper bound of differential characteristic probability is mainly used to determine the number of rounds when constructing a block cipher. As the number of rounds affects the performance of block cipher, it is critical to evaluate the tight upper bound in the constructing process. In order to calculate the upper bound of differential characteristic probability, the previous searching methods for minimum number of active S-boxes constructed constraint equations for non-linear operations and linear operations, independently. However, in the case of BOGI design strategy, where linear operation is dependent on non-linear operation, the previous methods may present the less tight upper bound. In this paper, we exploit the properties of BOGI strategy to propose a new method to evaluate a tighter upper bound of differential characteristic probability than previous ones. Additionally, we mathematically proved the validity of our method. Our proposed method was applied to GIFT-64 and GIFT-128, which are based on BOGI strategy, and the upper bounds of differential characteristic probability were derived until 9 round. Previously, the upper bounds of differential characteristic probability for 7-round GIFT-64 and 9-round GIFT-128 were 2-18.395 and 2-26.885, respectively, while we show that the upper bounds of differential characteristic probability are more tight as 2-19.81 and 2-28.3, respectively.

  • This paper is to analyze how firms in a large firm-led industrial city have carried out the restructuring in the face of radical shifts, with focus on the strategy and the restructuring of firms in Ulsan, a typical industrial district in Korea that is specialized in heavy & chemical industry. It has been well known that the local economy has been led by a small number of large firms, including affiliates of chaebol, and its industrial structure has also been characterised as a clear dichotomy between large firms as a customer and small and medium-size firms as a supplier, which can be called not horizontal but vertical relations. It can identify some tendencies, however, that local companies have been rather dynamically changing in response to increasingly turbulent environment since the Asian crisis. Some are radical, but some incremental. These can be summarized in four distinctive but interlinked ways. First, more than half of local companies surveyed have attempted to change their production systems, mainly from the fordist mass production towards the flexible mass production, seeking both economies of scale and scope. Second, local firms have vigorously continued to reorganize the boundary of the production and the organization, by specializing products and focusing on the core competence in order to save costs and cope with radically changing customer demands in a flexible way. Third, there have been various strategies for the organizational innovation such as the introduction of team organization, the boundary blurring between the managerial and production workers and the intra-firm spin-offs, so as to improve managerial efficiency and competence in the use of internal labour market. Finally, they have tried to be more sensitive to the market and customers. These tendencies seem to be increasingly critical to sustain their competitiveness. To do so, they tend to focus increasingly not only on the competing via the product quality rather than through price, but also to seek to diversify the market and customer firms beyond national boundary.

Classification of Ground Subsidence Factors for Prediction of Ground Subsidence Risk (GSR) (굴착공사 중 지반함몰 위험예측을 위한 지반함몰인자 분류)

  • The geological factors for causing ground subsidence are very diverse. It can be affected by any geological or extrinsic influences, and even within the same geological factor, the soil depression impact factor can be determined by different physical properties. As a result of reviewing a large number of papers and case histories, it can be seen that there are seven categories of ground subsidence factors. The depth and thickness of the overburden can affect the subsidence depending on the existence of the cavity, whereas the depth and orientation of the boundary between soil and rock are dominant factors in the ground composed of soil and rock. In case of soil layers, more various influencing factors exist such as type of soil, shear strength, relative density and degree of compaction, dry unit weight, water content, and liquid limit. The type of rock, distance from the main fracture and RQD can be influential factors in the bedrock. When approaching from the hydrogeological point of view, the rainfall intensity, the distance and the depth from the main channel, the coefficient of permeability and fluctuation of ground water level can influence to ground subsidence. It is also possible that the ground subsidence can be affected by external factors such as the depth of excavation and distance from the earth retaining wall, groundwater treatment methods at excavation work, and existence of artificial facilities such as sewer pipes. It is estimated that to evaluate the ground subsidence factor during the construction of underground structures in urban areas will be essential. It is expected that ground subsidence factors examined in this study will contribute for the reliable evaluation of the ground subsidence risk.

Influence of Groundwater on the Hydrogeochemistry and the Origin of Oseepchun in Dogye Area, Korea (도계지역 오십천에서의 지하수 영향분석 - 수리지화학적 특성과 기원)

  • Water quality of Oseepchun, Dogye area, was investigated quantitatively for its origin and hydrogeochemistry in relation to the influence of groundwater. Groundwater appears to be the principal source of Oseepchun from the water-quality monitoring data including redox potentials, composition of dissolved ions and their correlations, hydrogen and oxygen stable isotopic ratios, and the distribution and occurrence of contaminants. Water-quality type of the surface water was grouped by the water-rock interactions as $Ca-HCO_3$ type originated from carbonated bed-rocks in the Joseon Supergroup, (Ca, Mg)-$SO_4$ type related with dissolution of surfide minerals in coal beds of Pyeongan Supergroup, and (Ca, Mg)-($HCO_3$, $SO_4$) type of the mixed one. Locally water pollution occurs by high $SO_4$ from mine drainage and $NO_3$ from waste-treatment facility. Intensive precipitation in summer has no effect on the water type of Oseepchun, but increases the inflow of nitrate and chloride originated from land surface. Results of this study direct that groundwater-surface water interaction is intimate, and thus surface-water resource management should begin with groundwater characterization.
