  • 본 논문은 뇌-컴퓨터 인터페이스(BCI)를 활용한 게임 개발을 통해 집중력 부족 문제를 해결하기 위한 방안을 제시한다. BCI 기술은 사용자의 뇌파 신호를 분석하여 게임에 적용할 수 있으며, 그에 따라 뇌파 신호를 활용한 집중력 향상을 도모해 볼 수 있는 게임을 설계하였다. Unity 게임 개발 환경과 Emotiv Insight 장비를 사용하여 게임을 구현하였으며, 사용자는 뇌파 신호를 통해 플레이어를 제어하여 게임을 즐길 수 있다. 연구 결과는 뇌파 기반 게임이 사용자의 집중력 향상에 도움을 줄 수 있는 잠재력을 보여준다.

  • The effect on creative problem solving ability and learning flow is analyzed by applying game-based learning using sandbox game, Minecraft Edu for elementary school students. It appeared to be effective when applied to sand box utilizing game-based learning than traditional lecture teaching method on creative problem solving ability and learning flow. It is found to be a significant difference observed in all sub-elements on Creative problem solving ability and it is found to be a significant difference in all sub-elements on learning flow except sense of control and transformation of time.

  • Recently, systematic research on the brain has been conducted and BCI(Brain -Computer Interface) technology applying electroencephalogram has been actively researched. Especially, serious game technology using BCI device has been the subject of interest. This paper develops a "twosome collaboration dance game," which is a serious game that takes advantage of NeuroSky's SDK(System Development Kit) and helps developing the spirit of team work and sociality based on attention and meditation, unlike existing single player games. We expect that this game will help to visualize brain functions of people and to cure ADHD children and the elderly people with MCI(Mild Cognitive Disorder). It is also expected to play a role of social catalyst to the game culture of the adolescent.

  • In this paper, we analyze the interaction features using eye-tracker and the characteristics of attention concentration of children with intellectual disabilities, and present gamification elements that can be used when designing digital contents for them. For children with quadriplegic cerebral palsy, eye-trackers will increase the accessibility of digital contents. Foreground gamification can be used for selective attention concentration, background gamification and intrinsic motivation to sustain attention concentration, and foreground gamification and extrinsic motivation for mobility.

  • This study is analytical prototype and usability studies centering on game development for game major in university curriculum by the collaboration of professor and students. The study set up the assumption of successful game development throughout the school curriculum initialized by fifteen weeks of time period. In the previous study, we defined the responsibility of positional personnel, and possibilities of current game majored school from both USA and Korea. The study aimed to analyze the productional guideline for the game development courses by conducting a usability survey from the groups of potential participants.

  • This study investigated the psychological effects of using a serious game with young learners in the English classroom compared with those of a dictionary application. A tablet PC-based serious game was created for the training of English phoneme discrimination for Korean 6th graders, and its psychological effects were measured using a paper-based survey and face-to-face interviews. The overall results revealed that the serious game had more positive psychological effects on young learners than the dictionary app. These findings provide supporting empirical evidence for using serious games in English classrooms.

  • Due to smart phones introduced since 2007, mobile contents production become activated and with this trend, attention among different age groups to production of mobile games has been growing. Whereas in the past, development of games was the domain of developers equipped with technical knowledge, provision of editor-type engines in recent times is lowering the high barrier of entry to game production. This paper proposes an event-based module design method from the perspective of general users, aimed at producing games by oneself with a Unity 3D, one of editor-type game engines. This is to plan behaviors and roles in the unit of modules in the whole process of a game to be in line with the perspective of game production by one person. Each module includes diverse events that express game characteristics. In addition, the script function provided by the Unity 3D is appropriate to embody the proposed module structure and utilizes the Unity 3D. Lastly, this study produce a simple 3D mobile casual game in order to verify whether effective game production from the planning to the development is possible through the proposed method.

  • In line with the increase in consumer demand for mobile games, game companies face stiff competition. For a more successful marketing strategy, many game companies actively adopt Cross Promotion. The Cross Promotion marketing strategy in the mobile game is regarded as a low cost and high efficiency marketing method because the game companies provide new experiences to game users by utilizing existing game infrastructure and absorbing current users of game companies. Despite the advantages of Cross Promotion, there has been little practical study on the relationship between Cross Promotion and mobile game acceptance. Accordingly, the aim of this study was to determine the influential factors of Cross Promotion on the acceptance of mobile games. After reviewing previous research, a structural model was established, a survey was performed and the model was analyzed. The managerial implications are suggested along with the concluding remarks.

  • This paper will discuss the process behind creating casual games utilizing Spritekits. Casual games, which recently have been on this rise due to the increasing use of personal adhered media and SNS, are significant in that they are leading the way to various changes in the gaming industry whilst making it popular. With this background in mind, and through research on Casual Games, we have divided the production process of Casual Games into three parts and created the game "Round and Round" which utilizes Spritekits. We have sectioned and organized the production process of Casual Games into four parts as followed: information architecture, design, program development, and debugging. This research will propose an easier methodology to approaching the production of casual games and be a guideline for creating games with the minimal amount of personnel.

  • This study is about utilizing social game as a gamification advertising platform. Since iPhone released to the world, the smart phone industry has rapidly increased. And the development of the smart phone industry has rapidly increased its rate of users in which it has led to leaping growths of new kind of service such as SNS(Social Network Service), and SNG(Social Network Game). The purpose of this study is predicting the development of advertising industry in smart phone paradigm shift. This study focused on social network game as a gamification advertising platform, and studied on case of which is social network game used as a gamification advertising platform. Finally, this study has developed suggestions for new way of advertising by utilizing Mobile social network game as a gamification advertising platform.
