지식정보자원의 급속한 증가에 따른 정보문제를 보다 효율적으로 해결하기 위해 다양한 기능을 갖춘 검색엔진들이 개발되고 있다. 메타검색은 다른 웹 검색서비스보다 더 포괄적인 검색을 수행할 뿐만 아니라 더욱 안정된 검색 기술로써, 다양한 검색 정보원들에 대한 검색결과를 시스템이 통합하여 제공하기 때문에 검색에 소요되는 시간과 노력이 덜 든다는 점에서 효율적이고 사용하기 용이한 장점이 있다(Selberg 1999). 그러나 이러한 메타검색의 장점에도 불구하고 기존의 연구에서는 많은 이용자들이 각 데이터베이스를 통합하여 검색하는 것보다 개별적으로 검색하고 그 결과를 스스로 통합하는 분리 인터페이스를 더 선호하고 검색결과에 더 만족하였으며, 검색 효율성도 더 높은 것으로 나타나고 있다.(박소연 1999). The major functions of the digital textbooks that have been developed recently were focused on electronic whiteboard, learning tools, multimedia. But supporting contents retrieval was not included yet. This study is aimed to develop an elementary digital textbook that supports retrieval function. We surveyed elementary teachers about the requirements for search function and a digital textbook was designed and implemented based on the result of the survey. The distinctive feature of the developed digital textbook, which is written in XML, is that it is enabled to search the units of meaningful phrases. The survey which was carried out after using the new digital textbook showed that more than 90% of the teachers think that it is quite useful in class and they would like to use this textbook in their class. If a retrieval function can be added to the digital textbook which is going to be supplied to elementary schools, it will be a lot helpful for teaching and learning procedure.

As computing technologies are rapidly progressed and widely used, the needs of high quality information have been increased. To satisfy these needs, it is essential to develop a system which can provide an efficient storing, managing and retrieving mechanism of complex multimedia data, esp. video data. In this paper, we propose a metadata model which can support content-based retrieval of video data. And we design and implement an integrated user interface for querying and browser for content-based retrieval in video database which can efficiently access and browse the video clip that user want to see. Proposed query processor and browser can support various user queries by integrating image feature, spatial temporal feature and annotation. Our system supports structure browsing of retrieved result, so users can more exactly and efficiently access relevant video clip. Without browsing the whole video clip, users can know the contents of video by seeing the storyboard. This storyboard facility makes users know more quickly the content of video clip.

We in this paper propose a semantic search system based on Korean medicine ontology. Semantic search augments search results and improves search accuracy by understanding which concept denotes terms which users is trying to find. Our semantic search system also provides these semantic search capabilities. Moreover, search scenarios which is meaningful in Korean medicine are designed and implemented by analyzing the semantics of Korean medicine ontology. Therefore, our system can help users find the useful search results with respect to Korean medicine by providing the more meaningful information as well as the connected information in ontology.

In this paper, I propose an efficient data search system using data partitioning algorithm in Microsoft Excel. I propose searching algorithm to retrieve data quickly using VBA functioning in the Excel. This algorithm is to specify the sheet you are looking for. Once the sheet is specified, the algorithm searches the beginning and the end of the data in the sheet. The algorithm compares intermediate values and key words, from the starting position of the cell. In this way, it will search data to the end. This proposed algorithm was implemented and tested in the Excel system using VBA program. The experimental results showed that the performance was better than that of the conventional sequential search method.

본 논문에서는 글자 단위를 기본으로 하는 한글 검색 기능을 구현할 때 적용될 수 있는 검색유형 (search pattern) 들은 어떠한 것들이 존재할 수 있는지에 대해 먼저 살펴보고, 검색 알고리즘에 적용시켜 본다. 이 때 부호계와의 연관성과 효율성을 따져보기 위해서 두 바이트 상용조합형, 두 바이트 KS C 5601 완성형, n-바이트 (3 바이트) 부호계, 그리고 국제 표준 한글 부호계의 첫-가-끝 부호계 등 여러가지 부호계를 사용할 때를 서로 비교해 본다. 각 부호계를 사용할 때 알고리즘이 조금씩 바뀌게된다. 그 변형을 살펴보면 그 효율을 측정할 수 있는데, 한글 글자단위 검색 등의 유형의 작업에서는 조합방식의 부호계를 사용하면 더욱 편리하다는 것을 알 수 있다. 이는 단순히 한글 글자단위 검색 기능에서 유리하다고 하기보다는 한글의 특성을 더 잘 반영하고 있다고 할 수 있는 것이다. 또한 조합방식의 부호체계 중에서도 별도의 연산값이 소리마디에서 글자를 분리해 낼 수 있는 부호계 (3-바이트 부호계, 첫-가-끝 부호계) 의 경우는 글자를 기본 단위로 처리하고자 하는 응용 분야에서 더욱 편리하게 사용될 수 있다.

The information overload with many information resources is an inevitable problem in modern electronic life. It is more difficult to search some information with user's information needs from an uncontrolled flood of many digital information resources, such as the internet which has been rapidly increased. So, many information retrieval systems have been researched and appeared. In text retrieval systems, they have met with user's information needs. While, in image retrieval systems, they have not properly dealt with user's information needs. In this paper, for resolving this problem, we proposed the intelligent user interface for image retrieval. It is based on HCOS(Human-Computer Symmetry) model which is a layed interaction model between a human and computer. Its' methodology is employed to reduce user's information overhead and semantic gap between user and systems. It is implemented with machine learning algorithms, decision tree and backpropagation neural network, for user adaptation capabilities of intelligent image retrieval system(IIRS).

영상보안 시장은 DVR(Digital Video Recorder)을 중심으로 아날로그 시스템을 디지털로 빠르게 대체하며 네트워크를 이용한 고화질 시장으로 발전을 거듭하고 있다. DVR의 핵심적인 기능인 녹화, 검색 기능은 시스템에서 상대적으로 속도가 느린 디스크 자원의 의존도가 높은 기능으로 성능에 직접적인 영향을 미치는 녹화 파일 포맷이 최적화 되지 않을 경우 심각한 성능 문제를 일으킬 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 인덱스를 이용하여 고속 탐색 및 재생 성능을 유지하면서 비디오와 오디오 데이터 외에도 다양한 형태의 이벤트 데이터를 수용하여 DVR의 녹화와 검색 기능의 실제 운용 환경에 적합한 AMS (Advanced Multi-channel Streaming) 파일 포맷을 설계하고 최근 DVR 전용 파일 포맷으로 제안된 ESP 파일 포맷과의 비교 실험을 통하여 기능 및 성능이 향상되었음을 확인 하였다.

정보의 중요성이 날로 부각되고 인터넷 사용인구가 급격히 증가함에 따라 국내에서도 정보검색에 대한 관심이 크게 높아지고 있다. 여기에 PC의 보급이 일반화되어 사무실이나 가정에서 쉽게 온라인에 접속하여 정보검색을 할 수 있게 됨에 따라 정보검색이 일부 전문가들의 영역을 벗어나 일반인들 사이로 확산되고 있다. 이제는 정보검색을 전문적인 기능으로 국가에서 관리하는 방안을 검토할 때이다. 전문 검색인의 발굴 및 평가 체제를 일본의 사례를 통해 알아보자.

XQuery is a new recommendation for XML query. As an efforts for extending XQuery capabilities XML insertion and deletion are being studied and its standardization are going on. Initially XML databases are developed simply for XML document management. Now their functions are extending to OLTP. In this paper we are adding updating functions to XQuery processing system that is developed only for XQuery retrievals. We suggest the structure of tables, numbering schemes for hierarchical structures, and the methods for SQL translations for XQuery updates.
