Internet is a world wide telecommunication netweok that is used broadly in every fields through the multimedia services offered by using Web Browser. The purpose of this study is to examine the functions of search tools. It analyzes that search tools have various characteristics and functions and Internet users have to select appropriate search tools for their information needs. Also improvement and development for search tools have to be continued.

오늘날 급속하게 발전하는 유전자 분석기술은 유전자 서열(sequence), 단백질의 기능(function) 및 구조(structure)정보와 같은 생명현상의 연구에 필수적인 정보들을 제공하게 되었다. 특히, 인간 유전체 프로젝트의 완성 이후 염기 및 단백질의 서열데이터를 이용하여 유사한 서열데이터의 검색 및 관련 단백질의 기능, 구조 정보들과 같은 생물정보의 종합적인 검색이 요구되고 있다. 하지만 기존 대부분의 통합서열분석시스템들은 단지 관련 정보를 포함하는 데이터 베이스들에 접근하며 서열유사성을 분석한 후, 그 결과를 단순히 디스플레이 하는 것이 대부분 이였다. 부연하면, 기존 통합 서열분석시스템들은 각 데이터베이스로부터 검색된 결과들 간의 명확한 관계를 설명하지 못하여 종합적인 생물정보를 제공하지 못하고 있다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 염기 및 단백질의 서열데이터로부터 서열유사성 검색 및 관련 단백질의 기능, 구조정보에 해당하는 종합적 인 생물정보를 효과적으로 검색, 서비스 할 수 있는 통합 서열분석시스템의 설계, 구현에 관해 기술한다.

최근 사회 전반적으로 알고 있는 정보화사회의 구현은 광범위하고, 매우 포괄적이다. 잘 구현된 데이터베이스(Database)도 검색서비스환경, 네트워크환경 등 또 다른 환경이 지원하지 못하면 그 기능을 제대로 발휘하지 못하기 때문이다. 제한적이고 부분적인 기능지원은 상당한 부작용을 나타내거나 전체환경의 기능저하를 초래한다.

위성영상의 종류가 많아지고 다양한 종류의 수치지도가 생성되고 관리되기 위해서는 지도도서관이 필요할 것이며, 이는 클리어링하우스와는 달리 전통적인 종이지도까지 포함이 되어야한다. 상품화된 GIS 툴에서 제공하는 공간검색의 기능을 개발하여 지도도서관에 활용을 한다면, 지명검색보다 다양한 형태의 자료를 검색하여 비교할 수 있으므로, 데이터베이스에 각 자료의 좌상단, 우하단 좌표가 입력 관리되고, 서버에 모든 자료가 존재한다는 가정하에 사각검색과 원 검색의 원리를 경우에 따라 분류하고 SQL문으로 만드는 원리를 정리하였다. 공간검색을 통한 GIS자료의 다운로드와 생성된 자료의 업로드 기능을 클라이언트/서버환경에서 JDBC를 활용하여 구현하였다. 국가기관이나 학교에서 지도전문 도서관이 전무한 실정이지만, 앞으로의 가능성을 전제로 하여 고지도로부터 관광지도, 수치지도, 위성영상을 활용한 주제도에 대한 관리방법으로 제안한다.

최근 인터넷의 발달에 따라 XML 문서의 사용과 각종 영상정보의 양이 크게 증가되었다. 이에 따라 XML 문서를 관리하기 위한 XML 데이터베이스의 필요성과 메타데이터 표준화에 대한 중요성이 증가되고 있다. XML 데이터베이스는 XML 문서의 특성을 고려하여 그 특성을 효율적으로 지원할 수 있다. 또한 국내에서는 교육정보분야 메타데이터 표준인 KEM 2.0이 제정 되었고 국외에서는 멀티미디어 데이터에 대한 표준으로 MPEG-7이 제정이 되었다. 이에 따라 본 논문에서는 MPEG-7을 기반으로 KEM 2.0을 이용한 영상정보 XML 스키마를 생성하고 이를 이용한 영상정보 검색시스템을 XML 데이터베이스 기반으로 설계하고자 한다. 본 논문에서 설계하는 XML 데이터베이스 기반의 영상정보 검색시스템은 XML 문서에 대한 빠른 저장과 검색이 가능할 것이다. 또한 검색 기능에 있어서는 키워드 기반의 의미기반 검색과 유사 이미지를 통한 내용기반 검색, 그리고 이를 내용기반과 의미기반을 통합한 검색 기능을 제공할 것이며 XML 문서에 대한 강력한 질의 수단인 XQuery 질의를 포함하게 될 것이다.

An increasing in quantity of multimedia data brought a new problem that expected data should be retrieved fast and exactly. The adequate representation is a key element for the efficient retrieval. For this reason, MPEG-7 standard was established for description of multimedia data in 2001. In this paper, we designed a Audio/Image Retrieval System based on MPEG-7 that can retrieve multimedia data like audio, image efficiently. And we integrated high-level and low-level schemas to retrieve datas for users.

최근 바이오인포매틱스 분야에서는 유전자 주석정보 데이터들의 통합 방안에 대한 논의가 활발하게 진행 중에 있다. 본 논문에서는 BioDAS의 웹 서비스 개념을 이용, 분산된 주석 데이터서버들간의 통합검색 시스템을 구축함으로써 메타검색 시스템을 구현하였다. 본 시스템은 사용자에게 메타검색 기능 및 결과 저장기능을 제공해 주며 외부 사용자에게 웹 서비스를 제공한다.

이 논문에서는 물류체인관리(Logistic Chain Management) 소프트웨어 컴포넌트들을 웹을 통해 효율적으로 저장하고 검색할 수 있는 기능을 구현한다. 이 시스템은 기존에 개발된 윈도우즈용 컴포넌트 라이브러리 시스템의 저장 및 검색 기능을 웹을 통하여 이용할 수 있도록 구현하였다. 이에 따라 이 시스템을 이용하면 분산 환경에서 접근성이 높아질 뿐만 아니라 클라이언트에서 사용하는 운영체제 종류에 관계없이 컴포넌트를 저장, 검색할 수 있다.

In a qualitative approach, this study investigated users' perceptions associated with their satisfactions in the process of using the scholarly resource search functions of the academic version of the NAVER search engine. For this study, the data was collected from a group of undergraduate students, who conducted academic information searches in the field of own major disciplinary areas, using the Web portal. Based on the data, students' satisfactions and dissatisfactions along with the reasons of their perceptions were analyzed. The results presented users' perceptions in various evaluation criteria based on the three major domains: system interfaces, retrieval mechanisms and search results. Based on the results, the study proposed the following suggestions: 1) the enhancements of the system interfaces and HELP guidances based the limited user knowledge on basic system terminologies 2) the improvements of the retrieval mechanisms associated with understanding the contexts of the search terms presented by users 3) the necessity of the user education due to the insufficient user knowledge of the retrieval mechanisms and the search functions.

The purpose of this study is to seek how to effectively acquire a full-text using LHI(Loca1 Holdings Information) when we search bibliographic DB. For this study, the pre-investigation of LHI within Online and CD-ROM DB was made using local and overseas literature. The questionary survey was made of librarians and users who have used CD-ROM. The finding of this study is that LHI is not very widely used in libraries, thus more study on ,LHI within Online and CD-ROM DB is required to get high quality information service.
