Design of a MAC protocol for Urgent Events in Wireless Sensor Networks (긴급 메시지의 우선 처리를 위한 무선센서네트워크 MAC 프로토콜 설계)

  • Wireless Sensor Networks are widely applied for organizing real-time monitoring systems. Unlike general kinds of sensor networks, it is important to preferential send emergency data to the control server when urgent events are occurred. But IEEE 802.15.4 MAC protocol which is generally deployed for wireless sensor network does not support algorithm for urgency data handling. Therefore, we proposed a MAC protocol which consider the priority for the urgency data handling.

Tanner Graph Based Low Complexity Cycle Search Algorithm for Design of Block LDPC Codes (블록 저밀도 패리티 검사 부호 설계를 위한 테너 그래프 기반의 저복잡도 순환 주기 탐색 알고리즘)

  • In this paper, we propose a efficient shift index searching algorithm for design of the block LDPC codes. It is combined with the message-passing based cycle search algorithm and ACE algorithm. We can determine the shift indices by ordering of priority factors which are effect on the LDPC code performance. Using this algorithm, we can construct the LDPC codes with low complexity compare to trellis-based search algorithm and save the memory for storing the parity check matrix.

A Message Schedulability Analysis using an Improved EDF Scheduling for Distributed Real-Time Systems (분산 실시간 시스템에서 개선된 EDF 정책을 사용한 메시지 스케줄가능성 분석)

  • This paper presents an approach for scheduling network messages with real-time dynamic algorithms. We present the method that calculates an intermediate relative deadline of the message based on the EDF(Earliest Deadline First) scheduling policy. We adjust the slack of message by using this intermediate relative deadline to allocate a priority of message. The priority of the message can be determined accurately by using the slack that calculates in our approach, which increases the schedulability efficiency of the message. As a result, we reduce the worst-case response time and improve the guarantee ratio of real-time messages. Also, we describe the analysis method to check the schedulability on message sets, and show the efficiency of our approach by comparing the results of the DM(Deadline Monotonic) approach and the existing EDF approach with that of the improved EDF in our approach through the simulation.

Association between Cognitive Impairment and ADL of the Elderly in Rural Area (농촌 노인들의 인지기능장애와 일상생활 활동도와의 관련성)

  • Objectives. The purpose of this investigation was to study the correlation between cognitive impairment and activities of daily living(ADL) In the elderly of rural area. Methods. The study population consisted of 210 elderly people aged 65 years and older, living in a district of Kyongju City. The cognitive impairment was measured with the Korean version of mini-mental state examination(MMSE-K) and newly constructed the Korean version of mini-mental state examination (K-MMSE). Bristol activities of dally living scale developed specifically to be used with people with dementia was used to measure ADL Results. The mean scores of both MMSE-K and K-MMSE were significantly different by sex groups and by .age groups, respectively(p<0.05). The mean scores of ADL were significantly different by age groups(p<0.01) not by sex groups. Among the 4 components of ADL(instrumental activities of daily living(IADL), self care, orientation, and mobility), the mean score of the orientation was significantly higher in men(p<0.01); and IADL, orientation and mobility components were significantly different by age groups(p<0.01). ADL correlated well with MMSE-K (r=0.54) and K-MMSE(r=0.52) and showed higher correlation in female (r=0.73, 0.71) than male(r=0.27, 0.29). IADL and orientation showed significant correlation with MMSE-K(r=0.52, 0.62) and K-MMSE(r=0.50, 0.63), respectively(p<0.01). Conclusions. In developing and establishing a care model for people with dementia in the community, both cognitive impairment and the activities of daily living(ADL) need to be considered.

Developing of Learning Attitude Examination Tool for Vocational College Students (전문대학생을 위한 학습태도검사)

  • The purpose of this study was to find a way to improve the basic learning ability of vocational college students and to develop the examination of learning attitude. This examination can be used at Center for Teaching and Learning as a previous step to find the strategy and effectiveness of learning. The examination of learning attitude which consisted of 33 questions was surveyed by 984 college freshmen. The survey revealed that five factors; effective content arrangement, priority and self-management, Check and improve of study habits, goal setting and implementation, learning plans have high interrelation(.53~.72). Especially, the more positive aptitude for their majors students had, the higher score they achieved in those five factors. According to general characteristics, there was significant difference among five factors. Therefore, if it is considered to run a differentiated Teaching and Learning method individually, it is expected to be more effective learning strategies.

  • Sympathetic reaction to grotesque facial injuries with oral bleeding can trigger confusion and generate inefficiency among emergency room personnel. Regardless of the extent of the injury, or of the sympathy elicated, the victim must be evaluated and treated as a whole patient with multiple trauma. There must be no confusion as to order of importance in the steps of evaluation : 1. airway 2. hemorrhage 3. shock 4. associated injuries 5. local injury 6. triage of facial injuries. The most dangerous aspect of oral hemorrhage is the possibility of its obstructing the upper airway. Swallowing large amounts of blood will usually cause gastric irritation and lead to vomiting, thus further complicating the management of the patient. Once a clear airway is assured and hemorrhage have been controlled, consideration is given to possible associated injuries before undertaking treatment of the facial injuries themselves. Status of the cardiopulmonary, gastrointestinal and neuromuscular systems all have a bearing on decisions concerning facial injury treatment. In this light, treatment priority becomes exceeding important. On the other hand, the importance of facial injuries should never be minimized, especially in a mentally retarded patient with oral hemorrhage. This is a case report about oral hemorrhage control as treatment priority in a mentally retarded patient.

Classification Society Selection Factors for Shipping Companies (해운기업의 선급 결정 요인에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to establish shipping companies' selection factors related to a classification society and to explore the relative importance of each factor using the analytical hierarchy process(AHP) technique. Insufficient research exists on the hierarchial structure of shipping companies' factors of selecting a classification society. The factors are identified and classified into two tiers of major and detailed factors, by referring to the related industrial linkages, prior research related to the determinants, and the process and service delivery of the classification society's activities. The empirical analysis of this study is based on the relative importance of determinants when selecting a classification society, and experts engaged with shipping companies were surveyed using questionnaires. The results of the AHP methodology on the main factors of shipping companies in selecting a classification society are as follows. The relative importance of the main factors was 0.373 for technical and survey services, 0.284 for recognized organizations(RO) functions, 0.177 for cost and 0.167 for market(related industry) expectations. The relative importance of the detailed factors is 0.144 for the ability to respond to a port state control(PSC) inspection, 0.143 for technical services, 0.090 for the requirements of financial institutions/ shippers/shipyards, 0.087 for class maintenance costs, 0.086 for the survey network, 0.085 for surveyor competency, 0.072 for cooperation with IMO and government authorities, 0.067 for recognition for RO, 0.058 for the business power of the classification society, 0.052 for the initial inspection costs, 0.040 for reputation and trustworthiness, 0.038 for the costs related to the class, and 0.037 for connections to related industries.

Analysis on Barriers and Resolution Priority of Sea-Rail Multimodal Logistics among Korea and Eurasia Nations (한국-유라시아간 해륙복합운송 문제점 및 해결 우선순위 분석)

  • The Panmunjom Declaration adopted by the leaders of South and North Korea on April 27, 2018, has created an environment conducive for peace and cooperation in the Korean Peninsula. In the June of last year, South Korea has joined the Organization for Cooperation between Railways (OSJD). The membership of OSJD has established a solid foundation for restoring a multimodal logistics system that connects the Korean peninsula to Eurasia countries, including China and Russia. In this paper, a questionnaire survey targeting working-level experts was conducted to find the barriers in constructing multimodal logistics that efficiently connect the port-continental railways of the Korean peninsula and the Eurasian nations. Survey items were divided into five categories-border crossing procedures, technology, facilities, operation, and government support. As a result, among the most important problems of international multimodal logistics in Eurasia that need to be solved on priority include improving transshipment facilities, eliminating inspection carried out at every country for transit, simplifying documents for customs clearance, and minimizing the changes in freight rates. In conclusion, for vitalizing the connection between the Korean peninsula and the continental railways, it is necessary to develop a transshipment system to facilitate the changes in tracks at the borders by making a joint effort with the international community. Second, railway and operational systems in South Korea, North Korea, China, and Russia should be standardized. Third, international cooperation among South Korea, North Korea, China, and Russia is essential for simplifying customs clearance at borders, priority departure of domestic cargo, sharing information about the changes in freight rates, and so on. Finally, the government should come up with measures to secure the quantity of cargo required to form block trains, while developing new business models.

A Study on Estimating Scour Safety of Levee for Effective River Management (효율적 하천관리를 위한 하천제방 세굴안전도 산정에 관한 연구)

  • 하천제방의 설계 시 침식 및 세굴에 대한 보호를 위해 호안을 설치하도록 하고 있으나 확실한 설계기준이 없는 실정이며 호안이 설치된 이후에도 호안에 대한 관리나 안전성 검사가 수행되지 않고 있다. 홍수로 인해 제방이나 호안의 손실이 발생하면 피해복구를 실시하는 수준에서 하천의 제방관리가 이뤄지고 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 하천흐름에 대한 호안의 안전도를 산정하여 도상에 표시해 제방의 유지관리에 활용할 수 있는 세굴안전도맵을 제시하였다. 세굴안전도는 호안의 형식별로 하천흐름에 대한 외력과 호안자체의 저항을 나타내는 내력을 비로 산정하였으며 매우안전, 안전, 보통, 위험, 매우위험의 5단계로 평가하였다. 남강유역을 시범유역으로 하여 남강댐 하류부터 낙동강 합류부까지의 모든 제방에 대해서 안전도를 평가하였다. 우선적으로 현장조사를 통해 제방호안에 대한 설계도서와 현장시공결과를 비교하였으며 호안의 확인이 어렵거나 호안설치가 되지 않는 제방에 대해서는 무호안 또는 식생호안으로 가정하였다. 산정된 하천제방 세굴안전도를 GIS를 활용하여 맵으로 도시한 결과 만곡부 또는 합류부에서의 세굴안전도가 낮게 평가되는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구를 통해 산정된 하천제방 세굴안전도 맵을 하천관리에 활용한다면 직관적으로 위험제방에 대한 파악이 가능하고 투자우선순위를 결정하는데 기초자료로 활용되어 하천관리 업무의 효율성을 높일 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

  • 원자력 발전소 주요 부품에 사용되는 Alloy 600의 PWSCC 개시와 전파기구를 살펴보고 그 억제 기술을 소개하였다. ○ 균열은 경화된 표면 산화층이 깨질 경우, 입계부식, 공식(pitting), 열처리 또는 물속에 노출되었을 때 일어나는 선택부식(selective corrosion), MnS등 게재물의 용출등에 의해 시작된다. ○ 균열의 전파는 '느린 성장'과 '빠른 성장'으로 구별해 볼 수 있는데 빠른 균열성장은 균열 선단에서의 응력확대 계수(KI)가 균열이 전파하는 임계값(KIscc)을 넘는 경우에 일어난다. ○ Slip Dissolution/Film Rupture Model, Enhanced surface mobility model, Hydrogen assisted creep rupture, Internal oxidation 등의 모델이 제시되어 있으며 Internal oxidation 모델이 여러 실험자료로 잘 뒷 받침되고 있다. ○ PWSCC 억제 방안으로는 부식환경과의 격리 및 보수용접이 대표적이며 부품의 교체를 통한 안전 확보의 방안도 있다. 수소량 조절을 통한 억제 방안도 제시되어 있다. ○ Alloy 600 PWSCC열화 관리 전략프로그램은 결함 발생 가능성이 높은 부위 선정, 우선 순위에 따른 계획적인 검사, 결함이 발견될 경우 완화조치를 취하거나 필요시 교체/보수를 실시하고 그 운영프로그램을 지속적으로 갱신관리하는 방안으로 유지되어야 한다.
