A Development of Floating Dock Control Simulator for Skid Launching System (Skid Launching System을 위한 Floating Dock Control Simulator의 개발)

  • Since the shipbuilding industry is at its peak to assimilate the large volume of orders in recent years, the Floating Dock has been an alternative to the dry dock which takes a certain period of time to build. Hence the use of Floating Dock is steadily increasing. Since the Skid Launching System(SLS) is used in Floating Dock, the balancing of the ship while launching is important and achieved by adjusting the Ballast tank of the Floating Dock. In this paper a Floating Dock Control Simulator for SLS is developed through the on-line interface of VRC(Valve Remote Control), Tank Level & Draft Measuring System and Valve Control algorithm on Simulation Tank Plan.

A Study on the thermal Kinetics for Disposal of Sewage Sludge Using Thermal Wind Drying of One mechanical Power (ONE구동 열풍건조시스템을 이용한 하수슬러지 감량화를 위한 열적거동 연구)

  • The objectives of this study was to investigate the improvement of thermal kinetics for disposal of sewage sludge using thermal wind drying. The operational parameters varied are the temperature of $130{\sim}170^{\circ}C$ and evaporation velocity WD. Important parameters effect on thermal kinetics for evaporation of water in sewage sludge studied include the drying time, water content of sewage sludge, solids amount of sewage sludge(TS%) by the varied temperature. The saturation point of water evaporation was observed at the drying time of 60 min in conditions of drying temperature $170^{\circ}C$ and drying time of 120 min by drying temperature $130^{\circ}C$ and WD=0.95 m/s. Operation at drying temperature of $170^{\circ}C$ led to higher rate of evaporation than those 130, $150^{\circ}C$ at WD=1.0 m/s and WD=1.0 m/s was higher than WD=0.5 m/s at drying temperature of $130^{\circ}C$.

  • Recently transparent electrodes using carbon nanotube (CNT) have been studied actively to replace conventional ITO. In this work, CNT or ITO coated poly(ethylene terephthalate) (PET) were prepared by controlling the surfaces since the cohesion degree depends upon drying conditions. As transparent electrode application, 3 drying temperatures were set as 20, 80, and $120^{\circ}C$ to produce the change of surface properties. Interfacial durability and electrical properties of prepared transparent electrodes were evaluated by electrical resistance measurement. Surface change with changing drying temperature was observed by FE-SEM, whereas the transparency change was measured by UV-spectroscopy. The electronic properties of nanoparticle coated surface were evaluated using cyclic voltametry method upon the surface change with controlled drying temperature. Durability of CNT coated surfaces was better than ITO coated ease. As drying temperature increased, better coated surface was prepared due to improved cohesion among nanoparticles, which resulted in increased electrical properties.

  • 우리나라 조선업을 40,000 TDW(Handy-max size)를 기준 해서 대형 조선소와 중소 조선소로 분류해도 무리가 없을 것으로 생각됩니다. 그런데 중소 조선소는 10,000 TDW급 이하의 선박을 주로 건조하고 있으므로 40,000 TDW-10,000 TDW(Hand-size)사이는 거의 공백 상태라고 해도 무방할 것입니다. 우리나라 조선업은 건조선박크기로 볼 때 대형과 소형사이에 중형이 거의 없습니다. 중소 조선소들은 그 숫자가 많기는 하나, Hand-size 이하의 소형선을 건조해 왔고, 그 시장도 극동해역을 거의 벗어나지 못해 왔으므로 중소 조선업이 "세계화"되었다고 말하기에는 다소 미흡한 점이 많아 보입니다. 필자는 우리나라 중소 조선업의 "세계화"가 가능할 수 있다고 믿는 사람중의 하나입니다. 그래서, 먼저 몇가지 소견을 밝힘으로서 여러 회원들 중 뜻을 같이 하고저 하는 분들을 이 가능성에로 초대하고 싶습니다. 이 글은 커다란 잠재력 개발을 향한 첫걸음에 불과한 것이고, 여러 회원들의 동참에 의해 지속적으로 개발돼 나갈 수 있을 것이다.적으로 개발돼 나갈 수 있을 것이다.

Model of Drying Stress Distribution in Disks End-wrapped in Korean Paper and Effects of End-wrappings on Prevention of Drying Defects for Vacuum Drying of Disks (한지(韓紙) 엔드래핑처리 원판(圓板)의 감압건조응력(減壓乾燥應力) 분포모형(分布模型) 및 엔드래핑스의 건조결함(乾燥缺陷) 예방효과(豫防效果))

  • It was proved that in conventional kiln drying of disks piling position in the kiln exerted a great influence on drying rates, and the larger the variation of disk diameter, the more undulating drying rates of disks. While in vacuum drying disks there was no influence on drying rates. By the end-wrapping treatments and the radial direction of disks tangential surface stresses in the core of disks were slightly compressive in three species. In control disks the drying stresses distributed into one step-style that compressive stresses in the pith side of 6cm from pith were larger than those in the bark side, while in the disks end-wrapped with Korean paper the drying stresses distributed uniformly, because flow rates of free water in disks had no difference between heart-and sap-wood by obstruction of evaporating water from surface of disks by end-wrapping with Korean paper. And end-wrapping with Korean paper considerably restrained those. Tangential differential shrinkage stresses developed the maximum tensile stress near the bark and with approaching the pith the stresses gradually reduced and changed into compressive stresses in near the pith. At the end of vacuum drying the maximum tangential tensile stresses of disks end-wrapped with Korean paper were smaller than those of control disks, and critical moisture contents causing the V-shaped crack of disks end-wrapped with Korean paper were lower than those of control disks because of the set by obstruction of evaporating water of end-wrapping with Korean paper. In the experiment of vacuum drying stress distribution the disks end-wrapped with Korean paper or aluminum foil in three species were free from V-shaped cracks and control disks were defected very slightly by V-shaped cracks. And also disks end-wrapped with Korean paper were free from heart checks in Alnus japonica and Juglans sinensis, and heart checks were occurred very slightly in others. Especially, not to speak of disks end-wrapped with Korean paper, vacuum drying of disks end-wrapped with aluminum foil prevented effectively drying defects, moreover drying times could be shortened, that is. Ginkgo biloba, Alnus japonica, and Juglans sinensis disks could be dried from green to in-use moisture content in 110 hours, 272 hours, and 407 hours, respectively.

  • 최근 기후변화로 인한 기상재해 중 건조와 관련하여 인플루엔자, 호흡기질환 등과 같은 질병과 산불발생빈도의 증가로 인해 건강 및 재산상의 피해가 증가하고 있다. 특히, 한반도의 주택지역은 산림지역과 근접하여 산불 발생시 그 피해와 복구비용이 막대한 것으로 나타났다. 뿐만 아니라 향후 지구온난화가 가속화 될 경우 건조와 관련한 환자와 산불로 인한 피해가 증가할 것으로 예상되므로, 이에 대한 사전방재계획 및 복구계획 등이 필요하다. 이와 같은 건조현상 등의 자연재해에 대한 방재계획이 효과적으로 운영되기 위해서는 방재 정보를 인지하고 실천하는 개인의 적극적인 활용이 필요하다. 특히, 개인의 생활에 영향을 미치는 피해는 정부적인 대책보다 개인이 스스로 인지하여 대비함으로써 감소시킬 수 있기 때문에 재해에 대한 개인의 인지정도는 대책마련에 있어 중요한 요인이 된다. 이에 따라, 본 연구에서는 건조로 인한 질병 및 산불 발생 등 기상재해 증가에 대한 사전방재계획의 효과적인 운영을 위하여 설문조사분석을 통한 일반인의 건조특보 인지도 및 활용도 분석을 실시하였다. 또한, 기후가 변화함에 따라 더운 낮과 밤의 증가로 건조현상뿐만 아니라 폭염의 발생빈도도 증가할 것으로 예상되고 있다. 이와 관련하여 기후변화 적응측면에서 국민들의 건조특보 및 폭염특보와 관련한 정보 습득이 잘 이루어지고 있는지를 파악하고자 한다. 이를 위해, 선행연구에서 대학생의 주된 폭염특보 관련 정보습득경로가 TV와 인터넷인 점을 참고하여, 기상청에서 제공하는 건조특보와 폭염특보 발표일수와 TV, 인터넷의 대중매체를 통한 보도회수를 비교 분석하였다. 본 연구를 통해 대학생집단과, 10대, 20대의 저연령층의 인지도가 상대적으로 낮은 것으로 파악되었으며, 이는 대중 매체를 통한 건조특보와 관련한 정보전달의 부족으로 나타났다. 폭염특보와 관련한 언론보도는 기상전달뿐만 아니라, 폭염의 위험성, 폭염으로 인한 피해상황, 폭염특보제 홍보, 폭염과 관련한 대비책 등 다양한 내용으로 기재되었다. 반면에, 건조특보의 경우에는 대부분이 단순 기상전달로 폭염특보에 비해 보도의 다양성이 결여되어 있었다. 차후 대중매체를 통한 이용자들의 접근성을 증대시키기 위해서 신속하고 정확한 정보전달이 필요하다. 산불 및 화재예방과 관련하여 기상청의 정확한 기상정보 제공과 사전방재계획 수립에 대한 필요성을 직업별, 연령별로 구성된 각 집단의 50%이상이 느끼는 것으로 나타났다. 이에 따라, 기상정보 전달의 핵심인 기상청을 중심으로 온라인/오프라인 상의 기초교육부터 체계적인 사전방재계획 및 안전교육 프로그램 마련이 필요하다.

Characteristics of Cereals Prepared by Extrusion-Cooking and Freeze-drying (압출성형과 동결건조 곡류의 특성)

  • Characteristics of cereals prepared by extrusion-cooking and freeze-drying were compared. Parameters used were water solubility index (WSI), water absorption index (WAI), paste viscosity, and sterilization. Variables for extrusion process were barrel temperature at die section (70, 90, and $110^{\circ}C$) and moisture content (25 and 30%). WAI and WSI of extruded cereals were higher, whereas trough, breakdown, and final viscosity were lower than those of raw and freeze-dried cereals. Plate counting revealed no microbes in extruded cereals, whereas microbe colony was observed in freeze-dried cereals. Extrusion-cooking at low temperature resulted in better sterilization of microbes than freeze-drying for preparation of instant cereal drinks.

A Study on Humid Control Characteristics of Alkaline Desiccants (알칼리성 용해제의 조습특성에 관한 연구)

  • Many salts have the ability to attract and remove water vapor from the surrounding environment. The ability of each salt to remove water vapor is based on the flow rate and temperature of air in surrounding. The objective of this study was toinvestigate the humid control characteristics in air-water system by using a desiccants. The aim is to asses the influence of three parameters on the humid control process which are air volume rate, air temperature and desiccant amount. Humidity control materials which consist of K (potassium) or Na (sodium) have been synthesized by the aqueous process. The humidity control properties of materials have been also investigated. Experiment results are as following. Thermal characteristics of desiccants showed similar properties regardless of processing condition. The experiments were examined by using artificial air-water system (humidity : 70~93%, air volume rate : $0.22{\sim}0.69m^3/s$). The results showed that the Na-type desiccant was an effective material. It was found that dew point increased with air volume rate, and the humidity change in humid control process was depended on desiccants amount.

Drying Shrinkage of Ultra High Strength Steel-Fiber Reinforced Cementitious Composites (초고강도 강섬유 보강 시멘트 복합체의 건조수축에 관한 연구)

  • When UHSFRC is applied to structures, it can be expected that it shows excellent performance in a point of constructability and load capacity. However, its rich mix can cause some problems concerning the long-term behavior such as shrinkage and creep. Therefore it is inevitably needed to investigate its long-term behavior in order to apply it to structures safely. This study is dealing with the drying shrinkage of UHSFRC. UHSFRC shows relatively fast drying shrinkage in the early exposed ages and slow moisture diffusion caused by compact microstructure of the material. It was found that The KCI model to predict the drying shrinkage did not properly represent these properties of UHSFRC. therefore a modified drying shrinkage model applicable to UHSFRC, which has different shrinkage properties from that of normal concrete, was proposed

Fungal Occurrence in Fresh and Dried Red Pepper (건고추 생산단계 중 고추의 곰팡이 발생)

  • Fungal occurrence during production of dried red pepper was investigated using red pepper samples collected at harvest, before and after washing, and before, during or after drying. Fungal incidence was evaluated by counting the number of fungal colonies grown after incubating random pepper cuts on potato dextrose agar plates. Washing with ground water had no significant effect on reduction of fungal contamination. Fungal increase was observed in some samples, and the insides of washer and containers were contaminated with fungi. Drying caused significant fungal increase regardless of drying method although the fungal incidence after machine drying was lower than that after greenhouse drying. Fungal increase was observed in the samples being dried in a greenhouse and some mycotoxigenic species were also detected. Therefore, the most important control point for fungal contamination during dried pepper production appears to be the drying process, especially in a greenhouse.
