This study is to examine the PEG concentration, and drying humidity and drying periods of humidity-controlled drying(HCD) for conservation of waterlogged woods(Pinus densiflora S. et Z.), and dimension stability of HCD were compared with those of air-drying and vacuum freeze-drying(VFD). Dimension stability of vacuum freeze-drying was the most excellent, i.e., PEG crystal was uniformly distributed in woods. Increasing concentrations of PEG, dimension stability of HCD was increased and drying periods decreased. Dimension stability of HCD after the treatment with the high concentration(70%) of PEG soaking was similar to those of VFD after the treatment with the low concentration(40%) of PEG soaking. In conclusion, high concentration(about 70% in water) PEG solution was the most suitable as a pre-treatment for HCD of waterlogged woods. However, drying should be maintained with enough high humidity and longer period.
During hot air drying of root vegetables such as radish and sweet potatoes, shrinkage and casehardening occurred, and thereby the quality change appeared. Therfore the hot air drying apparatus in which air temperature, relative humidity and air velocity could be controlled was designed, and the drying and shrinking characteristics of radish and sweet potatoes were studied. Also the external factors that affected these characteristics were investigated. The whole drying process of radish and sweet potatoes could be divided into four different drying rate periods, namely constant rate period, first falling rate period, second falling rate period (a) and (b). The shrinking rate curve consisted of four periods nearly corresponding to drying rate periods. The shrinking rate slowly increased in the constant rate period, rapidly increased in the first falling rate period, and reached the highest value in the early period of the second falling rate period. The surface shrinkage was greatly affected by the thickness of sample, relative humidity and initial moisture content. The shrinking ratio was increased with decreasing thickness and increasing relative humidity and initial moisture content.
The moisture sorption behaviors of dry corn(DC). dry-corn (DCC) and soaked-rooked corn(SCC) at $25^{\circ}C$ were analyzed. The corn was soaked in water at $26^{\circ}C$ for 8hr. The cooking times for DCC and SCC were 30 and 20min. respectively, at $80^{\circ}C$. Desorption occurred for DC and DCC at RH below 23% and SCC at RH below 33% during storage. Moldiness was observed in all samples at RH 97%, after 192hr for DC and 288 hr for both DCC and SCC. At the same water activity. SCC sample had the highest moisture content, followed by DC. The SCC sample had the highest monolaver value and sorption heat. Stability isotherms indicated that DC and SCC had better storability than DCC.
Drying shrinkage is a very important properties of concrete, which is affected by environmental conditions. The environmental conditions are temperature, relative humidity, and wind speed, which is quite variable and its effct on drying shrinkage is quite complex, too. In this study, environmental effects on drying shrinkage wrer integrated into one variable-evaporation rate. In several different environmental conditions, evaporation rate was measured with Evaporometer and compared with PCA chart, and also compared with measured drying shirnkage to verify the possibility of being a single parameter. The results are summarized in a prediction chart and prediction equation for drying shrinkage.
Air drying depends on species, density, dimension of wood, the geographical location of the air drying yard, and the meteorological factors of air drying site. If there are four seasons with large difference in temperature and humidity like in Korea, the research of the meteorological factors is required in air drying site. In this study, effective air drying days (EADD) of 24 regions in Korea were calculated by using the average monthly temperature, relative humidity, and wind speed. The EADD in 24 regions in Korea was ranged from 239 days to 291 days, with an average 265 days. This result is 5 days increased compared to the average of EADD calculated using the meteorological factors from 1955 to 1984. The results of multiple regression analysis on the EADD and meteorological factors showed that EADD affected in the order of temperature, relative humidity, and wind speed. As a result of dividing Korea into 4 zones of EADD, the zones of EADD were moved northward compared to previous study due to global warming. As basic data for predicting the moisture content (MC) distribution of Korean red pine logs during air drying conducted in Seoul, the average monthly temperature, relative humidity and wind speed for three years from 2016 to 2018 were presented, and the corresponding changes of the equilibrium MC were analyzed.

Water binder ratio combine high-performance concrete shrinkage of less than 0.4 to determine the transformation to a total shrinkage of water to move outside and internal consumption of moisture due to drying shrinkage and autogenous shrinkage, and then, the relative humidity changes and strain to be approached by surface physics describe the relationship between self-desiccation and autogenous shrinkage was set. To verify the self-desiccation in the humidity shrinkage and humidity measurements performed, and the research model, Tazawa, CEB-FIP model than to let the measure and the most similar results in this study based on self-desiccation model, autogenous shrinkage didn't represent the linear shrinkage by the drying shrinkage of the external moving but exponential relationships, unlike with the nature and rapid in the early age properly describes the attributes in shrinkage could see. After this research to move moisture and to reflect the shrinkage model, temperature, moisture transfer, strain analysis by multi-physics model is very similar to the results of mock-up specimen measurements performed for this research, the value measured by the internal consumption of moisture, therefore self-desiccation and a multi-physics model considering autogenous shrinkage might be relevant.

The hygrothermal effect on the strength of composite single-lap bonded joints were investigated. The specimens were manufactured in four different manufacturing methods and tested in three different environmental conditions. An interesting result is that the strengths of the joints in the elevated temperature and wet (ETW) conditions were found to be 11 ~ 23% higher than those in the room temperature and dry (RTD) environment. In contrast, the strengths of the joints in the cold temperature and dry (CTD) condition decrease by 8 ~ 21% compared to those in the RTD environment except for cobonded joint. The difference in the strength by testing environments is mainly attributed to the change of the material properties of adhesive by temperature and moisture.
Square slices of sea tangle was dried in hot air drier that could be controlled air temperature, relative humidity and air velocity. Under various drying conditions, drying and shrinking characteristics were investigated. 1) During drying sea, tangle, the constant rate period was nonexistant and the falling rate could be devided into a 2 periods, namely, a first falling rate period and a second falling rate period. 2) The tip part was proceeded more shrinkage than base part, and under drying condition of air temperature $50^{\circ}C$, relative humidity $30\%$, air velocity 0.4m/s, when the moisture content was reduced to $20\%$, the shrinking ratio of tip part, middle part and base part were 57.5, 54.0 and $42.7\%$, respectively. 3) The drying shrinking and drying rate increased with decreasing relative humidity, but when the moisture content was reduced to $20\%$, the shrinking ratio increased with increasing relative humidity.
The shrinking and overall drying rate equations which can accomodate experimental date and the rate of initial drying ratio were investigated. The results obtained from hot air drying experiments of radish and sweet potatoes were as follow. The drying rate constant and the order were affected by the thickness of sample and temperature. The empirical drying rate and shrinking equations at constant drying conditions (d=4mm, $Ta=50^{\circ}C$, RH=10%, U=0.8m/s) for radish and sweet potatoes were found to $dx/dt=0.112{\times}10^{-2}\;A(1-x)^{0.43}$, A=Ao(-0.480x+1) and rates of initial drying ratio were expressed of sample thickness, relative humidity and air velocity; for radish $dx/dt=0.0648(RH)^{-0.31}\;(d)^{-0.75}\;(U)^{0.39}$ and for sweet potatoes $dx/dt=0.0547(RH)^{-0.28}\;(d)^{-0.63}\;(U)^{0.37}$
