고온압착 건조 처리시 표면처리를 통한 고강도 라이너지 개발

  • 저급의 고지 원료를 두께 방향으로 고온 압착을 가하여 건조함으로써 전반적인 종이 물성 을 향상시키는 콘디벨트 건조 방식은 70년대 중반부터 80년대에 이르는 10여년에 걸친 개발 과정을 거쳤으며 90년대에 들어서 핀랜드의 Inkeroinen에 위치한 V alemt- Tarnpella의 연구 소에 최초의 파일로트 설비가 설치되었으며 그 후 1996년에는 핀랜드 ENSO사의 P Pank밟oski 판지공장에 설치됨으로써 세계 최초의 상업생산설비를 이루게 되었다. 기존의 실린더 건조 기술과 비교할 때 콘디벨트 건조방식은 건조속도를 약 5-15배 향상시킬 수 있 으며, 건조 에너지 절감에 큰 효과가 있을 뿐만 아니라 기존의 실린더 건조시 종이가 폭방 향으로 수축되 어 인장 stiffness와 압축 강도 동의 종이 물성 이 저 하되 는 반면 습윤상태 의 섬유를 120도씨이상에서 가열에 의해 리그닌을 연화시킴과 동시에 섬유의 유연성을 증가시켜 준다. 그리고 높은 압력을 가해줌으로써 섬유간의 결합 면적을 증가시키고 건조시 종이의 폭방향의 수축을 감소시켜 인장강도, 내부결합강도, 밀도, 표면평활성, 투기저항성 등 종이의 물성을 대폭 향상시켜주는 혁신적인 제지기술로 인정받고 있으며 국내의 경우 현재 1998년 부터 상업생산을 이루어짐으로써 그 공헌도는 매우 크다고 할 수 있다. 골판지의 주원료가 되는 국산 골판지 고지 (Korean old corrugated container, K KOCC)의 거듭된 재생처리로 인하여 미세분의 함량이 전체 지료의 절반 이상에 달할 뿐만 아니라, 섬유가 각질화와 단섬유화로 인하여 고온압착 건조처리 만으로는 골판지 고지로 생 산된 원지의 강도를 버진펄프로 생산된 원지가 가지는 강도에 준하는 강도로 향상시키는데 한계점을 가지게 된다. 유럽의 제지선진국들은 골판지 원지의 강도를 향상시키는 방편으로 표변에 전분 사이즈 프레스 처리를 도입하였으며 본 연구에서는 고온 압착 건조 처리 설비를 활용한 전분 표면처리의 가능성을 검토하고 골판지 원지의 강도를 향상시키기 위한 표면처리조건을 탐색하였다.

Microwave Vacuum Drying of Germinated Brown Rice as a Potential Raw Material for Enzyme Food (잠재적 효소식품 원료로서 발아현미의 마이크로파 진공건조)

  • This work was to study the potential use of germinated and microwave-vacuum-dried brown rite as a raw material for enzyme food. Brown rice was soaked in water at $15^{\circ}C$ for 2 days and then germinated at $25^{\circ}C$ for 4 days. The germin ated brown rice was then dried by different drying methods: microwave vacuum drying 1(drying only), microwave vacuum drying 2 $(drying{\rightarrow}crushing{\rightarrow}drying)$, hot air drying, vacuum drying and freeze drying. Each drier except freeze drier was set to maintain the sample temperature to be $60^{\circ}C$. During microwave vacuum drying 1 and 2 the sample reached $60^{\circ}C$ much faster (5 min) and was dried much faster (2 to 3 hrs for microwave vacuum drying 1 and 2 than the other drying methods. The initial drying rate of microwave vacuum drying was ten times faster than that of hot air drying. The microwave vacuum drying produced a dry sample of the highly retained enzymic activity, followed by freeze drying, vacuum drying and hot air drying.

  • 청항선은 해상 부유물을 수거하는 배로서 청소과정에서 특성상 해상부유물로 인한 선체손상 또는 프로펠러 유입으로 사고의 위험이 있다. 따라서, 건조 시 이를 고려한 설계를 하거나 반영하여야 한다. 그러나 모형시험에서 구현의 문제와 많은 Case로 인해 시간과 비용에 많은 어려움이 있다. 따라서, 이를 예측하기 위해 최근 발전하고 있는 수치해석을 통해 해상 부유물을 구현하였다. 그 후 속도에 따라 부유물을 흘려 프로펠러 주변 유입여부를 확인하였다.

Study of Dried Korean Native Plants Using for Floral Clusters (건조 자생식물 종별 꽃다발 이용 가능성 검토)

  • Korean native plants were investigated for their suitability to be used for floral clusters after drying. Floral clusters which were made in semi-sphere with a hand-tied method and can be fit in $22{\times}22{\times}37cm$ paper boxes were made with 37 species. Among 37 species, the 14 species which were easy to dry, to make floral clusters, and have not been used in other countries, were Echinochloa crus-galli var. frumentacea, Imperata cylindrica var. koenigii, Muhlenbergia huegelii, Phleum pratense, Setaria glauca, and Setaria viridis in Gramineae, Artemisia capillaris, Artemisia montana, and Chrysanthemum indicum in Compositae, Agastache rugosa, Elsholtzia ciliata, Elsholtzia splendens in Labiatae, Carex neurocarpa in Cyperaceae, and Vitex rotundifolia in Verbenaceae were used with leaves, flowers, and fruits. The suitable plants for a floral cluster in $22{\times}22{\times}37cm$ paper box, a wreath in $22{\times}22{\times}6cm$ paper box, and a flower arrangement in $22{\times}22{\times}22cm$ paper box, which were made to a set, were 10 species, that is Phragmites communis, Setaria glauca, Setaria viridis, Artemisia capillaris, Artemisia montana, Chrysanthemum indicum, Elsholtzia ciliata, Elsholtzia splendens, Mosla punctulata, and Vitex rotundifolia.

The Effect of Sarcodon aspratus Fruitbody on the Cooking Quality of Beef Steak (능이버섯 가공품이 스테이크용 우육의 품질에 미치는 영향)

  • The possibility of using the dried powder form of Sarcodon aspratus fruitbody (a kind of mushrooms) as a meat tenderizer was explored in this study. The freeze dried powder had higher protease activity compared to the hot air dried powder of S. aspratus. The powder kept higher activity when preserved at -2$0^{\circ}C$ than at ambient temperature. The hardness of the meat decreased and the cooking loss increased more rapidly when the meat was treated with the mushroom powder at ambient temperature than at -4$^{\circ}C$. In terms of sensory evaluation, 0.1% of the powder based on the meat and 3 hours of treatment at 4$^{\circ}C$ gave the highest acceptability score. In the comparison test the meat was more acceptable when treated with the mushroom powder than with the imported commercial tenderizer. This led to the conclusion that it is quite feasible to develop a natural meat tenderizer using the Sarcodon aspratus fruitbody.

  • In this study, the basic properties of CO2 immobilized desulfurized gypsum (CFBG) and the possibility of being used as a stimulus for slag cement were reviewed, and performance evaluation was conducted through a concrete mixing test. The main components of CFBG were CaO and SO3, and CaO and SO3 increased as the drying temperature increased. The moisture content of undried CFBG was 15.7 %, the drying temperature was 1.7 % and the drying temperature was 0.03 % at 105 ℃. Mortar using CFBG tended to have a lower flow value as the drying temperature increased, and the compressive strength was equivalent to that of the FGB use mixture. As a result of the concrete experiment using CFBG SC, both slump and air volume satisfied the target range after 60 minutes, and the compressive strength tended to increase overall compared to the ternary binder mixture.

  • Six soybean cultivars were used to study their seed development and germinability after flowering, in 1977 and 1978. The earlier varieties showed the faster seed development, but indeterminate types resulted in slower development. The earliest germinability was found in 15 to 25 days after flowering when dried with the pod shell. The germination of the seeds dried without pod shell, however, was inhibited significantly in early seed filling stages. Regular germinability of the Hill cultivar in a cold test was 40-45 days after flowering, or 10 to 15 days earlier than the physiological maturity.

Biological Activity of Fermented Silkworm Powder (발효누에분말의 생리활성)

  • The comparative effects of the fibrinolytic, and tyrosinase inhibition activities and electrophoretical protein patterns with freeze-drying silkworm powder (FDSW), heating-drying silkworm powder (HDSW) and fermented silkworm powder by Bacillus subtilis or Lactobacillus hilgardii were investigated. When total protein patterns of FDSW, HDSW, both fermented SW, were analyzed by native- and SDS-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (PAGE), there were slightly varietal differences in electrophoretical protein patterns. Major minerals of FDSW and HDSW were K, Ca, Mg, and Zn. Major compositional amino acids of FDSW and HDSW were glycine, alanine, glutamic acid, aspartic acid, and serine. Major fatty acids of FDSW and HDSW were linolenic acid, oleic acid, and palmitic acid. Fibriolytic activity was the highest in the fermented FDSW by 5% B. subtilis among the various samples. Tyrosinase inhibition activity was higher in the water and 70% methanolic extract of FDSW than in HDSW. DPPH radical scavenging activity was slightly stronger in HDSW than in FDSW. In addition, DPPH radical scavenging activity was higher in FDSW or HDSW fermented by L. hilgardii than that fermented by B. subtilis, however, all samples exhibited a relatively low activity compared to the butylated hydroxytoluene (BHT). These results may provide the basic data to understand the biological activities of fermented SW.

Analysis of the Drying Characteristic of Wastewater Sludge by Microwave to Make Energy Resources (하수슬러지의 에너지 자원화를 위한 마이크로파 건조특성 분석)

  • Wastewater sludge had normally filled up in land before revising the law of waste material management in 2003, which does not permit landfill of organic sludge in Korea. After the law, most sludge has been littered in the ocean up to now. However, due to the London Convention 96 Protocol, littering sludge in the ocean will also be prohibited after 2011. This Protocol makes countries find out new methods to treat wastewater sludge. There is no exception in Korea too. Many researchers have urgently try to find out better ways to treat sludge. One of ways is to make sludge recycle energy and the success of it depends on drying method. Specifically, it really depends how to make sludge dry ecologic friendly and economic efficiently. Therefore, wastewater sludge produced in Youngdong was analyzed to make it energy resources in this study. The sludge was tested to analyze the drying and chemical characteristics of it by irradiating microwave. In the result, it is sure that the sludge has little heavy metals as like as others in country side. High calories, 3370 Kcal, shows that it has good potential to be recycle energy. Moreover, weight deduction of the sludge vs. time shows long S-curve and has same deduction ratio. Specifically, S-curve can be divided by three sections based on the curvature points. There are steady state reduction ratio of weight and approximately 80% of weight duction in the second section. This results can be used to estimate the amount of sludge reduction in the full-scale microwave dryer. Drying capacity of microwave shows approximately 1.0 kg/kw/hr. It makes sure that sludge recycle energy has the potential of economic efficiency too.

Optimization of Spray Drying Process for Manufacturing Dried Vinegar using Response surface methodology (분말식초제조를 위한 분무건조공정의 최적화)

  • This study was conducted to develop processing method for vinegar powder from natural vinegar for encapsulation applications. To optimize the spray drying process, experiment was designed by central composition method to find optimal conditions for manufacturing vinegar powder. The acidity, water absorption, solid content and heat stability of vinegar powder were selected as response variables. The optimal concentration of inclusion complex which was made with vinegar and ${\beta}$-cyclodextrin was determined on 30。bx. On increasing the concentration of ${\beta}$-cyclodextrin as a wall material, the quality of the vinegar was decreased. The optimum conditions of spray drying process for manufacturing vinegar powder were 188∼192$^{\circ}C$ and 500∼600 Lh$\^$ -1/ as inlet temperature and flow rate, respectively.
