Building an Ontology based on the Unified Construction Information Classification System (통합건설정보분류체계 기반 건설정보 온톨로지 구축)

  • Recently, extensive research has been conducted on classification systems for managing a huge amount of information with various froms in the construction industry. Classification Systems such as ISO/DIS 12006-2 and MasterFormathave been proposed as international standards, and accommodating them for Korean situation the Korean Ministry of Construction and Transportation has proposed the Unified Construction Information Classification System. As the construction industry becomes bigger and more complicated, however, the need for higher-level semantic representation of construction information has been recognized. In this study we develop a prototype ontology based upon the Unified Construction Information Classification and suggest a practical way of applying an ontology technology to the construction information systems. An ontology is a useful tool to effectively manageconstruction information and to support interoperability among heterogeneous information systems by clarifying the semantic relationship between concepts.

이슈 & 이슈 - 공공공사 분리발주 법제화 효과

  • 건설공사 분리발주가 공공의 이익이 매우 큰 것으로 분석됐다. 또 분리발주로 인한 공사지연, 하자분쟁 등 효율성 저하는 철저한 공사관리와 발주자 보호장치 활용으로 해결, 일부의 우려는 기우에 불과하다는 분석자료가 나왔다. 대한건설정책연구원(원장 노재화)은 박근혜 정부의 주요 국정과제 중의 하나인 공공공사 분리발주 법제화의 효과를 분석하고 향후 도입방향을 제안한 '공공공사 분리발주 법제화의 효과와 도입방향' 보고서를 발간했다. 홍성호 연구위원이 발표한 이 보고서에 따르면 공공공사의 20% 수준으로 분리발주 적용범위 결정 시 4,693억원의 공공예산 절감과 4,198억원의 부가가치, 2만6,048명의 고용이 증진되는 등 공공의 이익이 매우 큰 것으로 밝혀졌다. 또한 발주자 선택권과 자유계약 원칙을 중요시하는 미국, 일본, 독일 등 선진국도 분리발주의 법제화 또는 적극적인 활용을 통해 공공예산 절감, 부가가치 및 고용창출효과를 거두고 있을 뿐만 아니라 통합발주의 문제점도 해결하고 있다고 밝혔다. 선진국은 또 전기 소방 통신 설비공종 뿐만 아니라 건축 및 토목공종에 해당되는 여러 개의 공종을 분리발주하는 다공종 분리발주 방식을 많이 활용하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 연구원은 또 일부에서 우려하는 다수의 공종 패키지로 인한 효율성 저하는 통합발주에서도 동일하게 발생하는 현상이며 철저한 공사관리와 발주자 보호장치 활용으로 해결 가능하므로 이같은 우려는 현실성 없는 기우에 불과하다고 밝혔다. 이와 함께 분리발주로 인해 발주자 관리업무는 일부 증가하지만 건축 및 토목공종의 일부만 분리된다면 그 증가폭은 크지 않아 크게 문제되지 않고 있으며 향후 CM용역을 통해 충분히 해소 가능할 뿐만 아니라 오히려 건설산업 발전에 필요한 'Smat 발주자 육성'이 가능하다고 전망했다. 본지는 지면관계 상 연구논문 중 공공공사 분리발주 도입에 따른 효과와 공공공사 분리발주의 도입 방향 부문만 게재한다.

Development of Highway Photologging Vehicle for the Highway Management System (도로관리통합시스템을 위한 도로영상수집차량개발)

  • To understand present road state quickly and correctly, The Ministry of Construction and Transportation pushing on with their plan that they offer digital images to user with position information in the HMS(Highway Management System). For that plan, the Korea Institute of Construction Technology developed a highway photologging vehicle which could acquire two high resolution color CCD images with fixed distance on the way to run. In this paper, especially, development of image aquisition S/W and synchronization device are described. And also their performance and trajectory accuracy are investigated together. As a result, it could be hon that the newly developed highway photologging vehicle is suitable to the road image acquisition work far the HMS.

  • To understand road state more quickly and accurately, KICT(Korea Institute of Construction Technology) executing a project that acquire high resolution color CCD images of the whole national highway every 10m, and offer images to the HMS(Highway Management System). At this time, national highway images of the Kyeonggki-Do, Kangwon-Do and Chungcheong-Do province were linked to the HMS and being offered to user. In this paper, from acquisition using highway photologging vehicle to database construction, the whole image-related data processes are described such as match images with their positions one to one or rearrange data acquired by road line to by management office.

  • This paper presents new IT model, PIIS that integrates the safety control, construction, and operation managements in a conventional gas industry The systemic approach based on the PIIS model may reduce or increase the parameters as maximizing the safety, risk and crisis management, and increasing the cost-effective productivity The rapid synchronization and integration of the process using the PIIS model may produce more profits and satisfactions between customer and gas supplier. Thus, the PIIS model should quickly be introduced to gas industry at the beginning stage of engineering design and construction processes for maximizing production, effectiveness, and safety of the system from the exploration of a natural gas to a final consumption.

  • 3D and BIM technology are presumed to be used more and more in the construction industry. The scope of this paper arose from a general wondering of how the constructor in general can benefit from the use of 3D models. Presented herewith is the first application of BIM in Korea to a actual bridge construction site located in Cheongpoong in Chooncheongbook-Do. This paper tries to integrate design, cost and schedule under location-based conditions with industry-specific solution for 3D modeling. 292 activities constitute the cable-stayed bridge of 442m long with a main span of 327m long. Integration of 3D model, cost and schedule is shown by comparing the measurements of works at a specific time by use of 2 different construction sequencing scenarios and cost breakdown structures.

  • In building construction project, there are numerous information or data parts across many different software applications and professional specialists. BIM (Building Information Modeling), as a medium for managing information generated during construction project, it is intended to enhance the effectiveness of construction management and reap a lot of advantages such as, automatic quantity takeoff, error-free estimation, 4D(3D+Time), 5D(4D+Cost) simulation. Nevertheless, the overall and practical effectiveness of BIM utilization is difficult to justify at this stage. While helpful, there are some limitation when BIM applied to construction management due to the differences of data processing process between BIM and work in the field, limitations of information generated from BIM object and interoperability problem among BIM application. Therefore, this paper propose a framework integrating BIM with cost-schedule information using IFC. And we construct the system prototype based on the framework and performed case study to examine the framework. The proposed framework provides the information basis for BIM based cost-schedule integration. ultimately, the framework increase the utilization of BIM and work efficiency of construction industry by supporting an understanding of information.

Economic Feasibility Analysis for Introducing Integrated Management System for Supporting Underground Construction (지하구조물건설 현장지원 통합관리시스템 도입을 위한 경제적 타당성 분석)

  • Underground construction for traffic networks, complexes, and storage facilities has risen as an effective land use plan for dealing with emerging problems such as overcrowded urban cities and traffic jams. This paper performed an economic feasibility analysis of the development of the integrated field management system which provides field workers and managers with 3D-based location tracking and clear communication during underground construction works. To conduct the analysis, processes and problems of field management for underground construction were analyzed and deduction in accidents and field management costs and productivity improvement were estimated as expected benefits. Based on computed benefits and costs, an economic analysis was conducted using Benefit/Cost ratio(B/C), Net Present Value(NPV), and Internal Rate of Return(IRR) and then sensitivity analysis was performed to cope with the uncertainty of assumed variables.
