Concrete produced from the construction wastes has been largely used as the recycled aggregate. These wastes, however, is mostly used as filling materials. For any recycled aggregate like waste concrete to be used as normal construction materials, it is necessary to actively find out the proper market places as much as possible with the improved quality. In this study, we have investigated the present status on the occurrence and treatment of both domestic and abroad construction wastes, and also the recycling status and related legislation with some inhibitory factors. Based on these investigations, we suggested some effective ways to increase the recycling of construction wastes.

In Korea construction project case, architectural construction project is curtailed production because information network process within multidisciplinary isn't smooth. Particularly, the construction is not insufficient about performance, cost and material, construction process, etc. in result various question arises because of design error in construction step. And various mistake is made because communication path within multidisciplinary isn't smooth in architectural design and design change process. This research proposed the optimization method of building system which is satisfied with performance of building, cost, constructability, and proposed the information management plan which is connected with that. And The construction information in this research is restricted to design/construction information which is considerate in design step.

Connecting with cost, schedule, and quality in a construction project, resource management is one of the essential management elements. However, the material requirement planning is built at the beginning stage of construction and needs various concerned factors, it is limited to build the resource management planning on enterprise level. The disconnected communication among managements makes impossible to control historical data. In the construction project control system, the core of management elements is to manage cost and schedule information, therefore material requirement planning should be established based on historical data about EVM which is intergating schedule and cost. In this study, a resource management system concerning material requirement planning and attribute of procurement is suggested by connecting the historical data of EVM and the material requirement planning.

This study on condominium complex will adopt the quantitative assessment of the influence on the environment throughout the entire life cycle of buildings. This paper applies input-out analysis in order to analyse embodied energy regarding input of materials at material production phase. Also, it calculates environment load at use and demolition and destruction Phases of buildings as analysing energy consumption. The study categorises environment load as six impact categories and undertakes environmental impact evaluation. The consequence shows that the environment load of multi-unit dwelling takes up 88.2% out of the entire environment load of condominium complex. Also, as a result of analyzing the environmental impact of the life cycle of condominium buildings, it was found that such environmental impact comprised of about 11.96% of all industries in Korea that had an environmental impact.

This study aims to understand the environmental impact reduction of green buildings that are certified by Green standard for energy and environmental design(G-SEED). To ensure this end, this study assessed and compared the environmental impacts(global warning, ozone layer depletion, acidification, and eutrophication) of a G-SEED-certified elementary school building(green building) and an uncertified elementary school building(traditional building) using the life cycle assessment methodology. This study considered the environmental impacts from the material manufacturing, material transportation, on-site construction, and operation during 40 years. The comparison of the environmental impact intensity of two buildings showed that the green building generated much more environmental impacts than the traditional building. For example, the global warming potential of the green building was approximately 12.5% higher than of the traditional building since the global warming potential of the green building was 3.751 $t-CO_2eq./m^2$ while that of the traditional building was 3.282 $t-CO_2eq./m^2$. It signifies that the G-SEED doesn't guarantee the reduction of the environmental impacts in terms of four impact categories. Therefore, the G-SEED should be complemented and improved to achieve the environmental impact reduction.

Two-dimensional drawings are widely used as a communication tool in the construction industry, but they are still hard to be understood by engineers with less experience. A four dimensional CAD drawing is presented based on marker-based augmented reality, for visual assistance, detailed information, and prevention of misunderstanding among users. The developed drawing enables the users to easily understand its contents through the functions augmenting components, providing detailed construction information, and simulating construction process, using the marker in a 2D drawing. A questionnaire-based survey validates the capability of the developed drawing that it improves inexperienced engineers' understanding of the drawings.

In order to use recycled aggregate as pavement base or subbase materials, the US and many other European countries have started research since the early 1980s. Korea also had a recycle idea as a plan for the vast amount of construction wastes due to the downtown renovation in the 1990s, but was not put into practical use. After the resources saving and recycle expedition law in 1994, wastes from construction sites that have more than a certain amount of construction budget were recycled as pavement base and subbase materials, but now, researches are being conducted to use them as paving materials. The use of construction wastes is meaningful in many ways. It helps the natural conservation and aggregate consumption, and also improves pavement performance. This research presents a development of cold-mixed reclaimed asphalt pavement materials using recycled aggregates.
