Methods: The subjects of this study were 70 grandparents of grandparents - grandchildren family in Muan-Gun. The collected data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, regression analysis. Results: The average age of grandparents was 70.1${\pm}$6.6 years old, unhealthy of the subjective health status was 55.7%, MNA score was 21.0${\pm}$3.5 points and 62.2% of the grandparents were shown to have malnutritonal status. The ADL, IADL, depression and fall index of health status were significantly related to the relationship with gender(p<.01), age(p<.05), economic(p<.01) and educational level(p<.01), and partnership(p<.01). MNA score was significantly related to the relationship with acute disease(p<.05), ADL(p<.001), IADL(p<.01), cognitive function(p<.01) and gender(p<.01). And the health status variables and general characteristics were positively correlated while the relationships were positive between health status variables and MNA score. Conclusions: With the above findings, grandparents of grandparents-grandchildren family have the problems of health and nutritional status. Then health and nutritional intervention program for grandparents-grandchildren family is needed to serve.

  • Objective: The purpose of this study was to identify the predictors and frailty level in the frail elderly receiving home visiting health care services. Methods: The subjects were 177 frail elders aged over 65 registered in the home visiting health care services of three public health centers in Daegu. The data collection was performed from June 9 to June 24, 2015. This study used descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, scheffe test and stepwise multiple regression by SPSS Win 18.0 program. Results: The mean of the frailty score was 10.05 (${\pm}4.52$). Age and life satisfaction were the significant factors related to the frailty score in frail elderly. Health promotion behavior, empowerment, social participation and perceived health status had a negative correlation with the frailty score. Thirty seven point four percent of the variance in the frailty score can be explained by perceived health status (${\beta}=-0.398$, p<0.001), health promotion behavior (${\beta}=-0.251$, p<0.001) and age (${\beta}=0.232$, p<0.001)(Cum $R^2=0.374$, F=25.744, p<0.001). Perceived health status was the most important factor related to the frailty score in our study. Conclusions: An integrative care program which includes these significant variables of subjects is essential to prevent the deterioration of frailty in frail elderly.

By analysing and synthesizing the concept of "Sanhujori" according to concept analysis of Walker and Avant. The author has tried to establish the term "Sanhujori" which gas been widly used from the past till now in Korea as a scholarly terminoloy and to develop a tool for the assessment of "Sanhujori". The conceptional attributes of the "Sanhujori" were figured out such as (1) hospitality; (2) physical and emotional recovery; (3) caring; (4) maternal role attainment. The assessment tool for the "Sanhujori" was constituted of 40 items of the conceptional attributes and tested on the 30 mothers more than 8 weeks of postpartal period. • Purpose: This study aimed to develop a scale measuring sexuality information needs of patients with cancer. Methods: Nine items of sexuality information needs were based on the PLISSIT model and concepts of sexual rights. A factor analysis using principal axis factoring and Cronbach's ${\alpha}$ were performed to test validity and reliability. Data were collected from 211 patients with cancer visiting a cancer center in Seoul, Korea. Results: Factor loadings of the 9 items of sub scales ranged from .43 to .96. Three factors in this study explained 74.4% of the total variance. Cronbach's ${\alpha}$ of the 9 items was .83. Conclusion: The scale of information needs about sexuality showed acceptable construct validity and reliability. This scale would be useful to assess the levels of information needs for sexuality for patients with cancer. The possibility of the scales' expansion to other group could be investigated in future studies.

  • Purpose: This study was to develop a Health Dieting Competency (HDC) scale to assess self-rated health dieting competence of college students. Methods: The scale was developed as follows: items generated, and tests of validity and reliability. Items were developed through a literature review, review of instruments, and interviews. A panel of four experts reviewed the scale for content validity. Factor analysis, Pearson correlation, descriptive statistics and Cronbach's ${\alpha}$ were used to analyze the data (N=183). Results: In the preliminary stage, thirty-three items were generated. Final items were fourteen that were selected through exploratory factor analysis. The HDC scale was consisted with five factors and fourteen items that were Goal-Directed (5-items), Health Support (2-items), Health Self-Efficacy (3-items), Health Perception (2-items), and Escaping from Health (2-items). The internal consistency of HDC as measured by Cronbach's ${\alpha}$ was .78. Conclusion: Content validity, construct validity, and reliability of the HDC were established. The HDC scale is a reliable and valid instrument for early adulthood youth who are willing to assess health dieting competency.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to develop a scale to assess immigrant women's needs for pregnancy and postpartum adaptation and to test the reliability and validity of the scale. Methods: To construct scale items, critical issues and difficulties associated with pregnancy and postpartum adaptation of immigrant women were identified and categorized through a literature review. Fifty-two scale items were constructed, and data for validity and reliability testing was collected with a questionnaire survey from 367 immigrant women. Data were analyzed with descriptive statistics, factor analysis, and reliability coefficients. Results: The final measurement scale to assess immigrant women's pregnancy and postpartum adaptation consisted of 48 items and 7 factors (adaptation to daily activity during pregnancy, cross-cultural understanding and personal respect, understanding of the process of pregnancy and delivery, baby rearing and family support, physical and emotional adaptation after childbirth, nutrition during pregnancy, and sexual life adaptation). The seven factors accounted for 64.26% of the variance, and Cronbach's ${\alpha}$ was .96. Conclusion: The scale developed by this study is a reliable and valid instrument and can be used to assess needs of pregnancy and postpartum adaptation and can be utilized in providing nursing interventions for immigrant women.

Method: To develop Korean version DSCB-OA used translation and back-translation method. Then, Korean version DSCB-OA was analyzed using data of 278 older adults with type 2 diabetes. Cronbach's alpha coefficient, item to total correlation and test-retest reliability was used for the reliability test, and factor analysis was used for the construct validity. Results: Cronabach's alpha of the DSCB-OA was.77, and item to total correlation coefficient ranged from -.13 to.56. The results of factor analysis showed DSCB-OA consisted of four factors(diet, exercise, blood sugar test, treatment) which explained 62.8% of total variance. Conclusion: The Diabetes Self-Care Barriers Assessment Scaler for Older Adults (DSCB-OA) was confirmed helpful tool for Korean older adults with type 2 diabetes.

  • This study was to investigate the factors influencing colorectal cancer(CRC) screening behavior using the health belief model(HBM). It was a descriptive cross-sectional survey. A total of 148 adults aged 50 or older participants were surveyed using structured questionnaires including general characteristics,, health beliefs, and behavioral variables. The data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, t-test, chi-square test and multiple logistic regression using SPSS/WIN 25.0 program. The significant factors influecing CRC screening behavior were perceived sensitivity, spousal experience of CRC screening and family history. Therefore, in order to improve the CRC screening rate, it is necessary to increase the perceived sensitivity through systematic education about the importance of early CRC screening. In addition, it is necessary to assess the spousal screening experience and the family history of subjects and to develop the education program using the partnership of the couple.
