The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between the oral health behavior and oral health belief of transportation workers. The subjects in this study were 270 selected taxi drivers who engaged in the taxi transportation industry in Jeollabuk-do. They were selected by convenience sampling. To determine the influence of their general characteristics and oral health belief on scaling experience and oral health education experience, a logistic regression analysis was made. And a multiple regression analysis was made by selecting general characteristics and oral health behavior as independent variables and by selecting oral health belief as a dependent variable. A statistical package SPSS for Windows ver. 12.0 was employed to make all the statistical analysis. As a result of making the logistic regression analysis, benefit that was one of the subfactors of oral health belief had something to do with oral health education experience, and the subfactors that exerted an influence on scaling experience were benefit, susceptibility and barrier. When the multiple regression analysis was carried out to find out influential factors for oral health belief, monthly mean income had an impact on susceptibility and barrier among the subfactors of oral health belief, and self-rated oral health status affected seriousness and barrier. There were differences among the taxi drivers in oral health belief according to their own characteristics, and oral health belief was linked to oral health behavior. Therefore oral health belief and oral health behavior should be taken into account when it's planned to promote the oral health of taxi drivers.
Purpose: This study was undertaken to compare perceived stress and coping patterns, and their effects on depression between cancer patients and healthy adults. Methods: A descriptive design was used with 278 subjects, consisting of 139 cancer patients and 139 health adults, living in an urban area. All participants completed the following prerequisites; Stress Visual Analog Scale, Ways of Coping Checklist (W.C.C.L), Depression Index (CES-D), and Demography and Disease Data Questionnaire. Results: Perceived stress and depression were significantly higher, while wishful thinking was lower among cancer patients than healthy adults, after adjusting for education and family income which were not homogeneous between the groups. Among cancer patients, 20.2% of depression was mainly due to seeking support (10.7%), perceived stress and education, while 30.7% of depression in healthy adults was due to perceived stress, problem solving, and seeking support. Conclusion: These findings suggest that interventions to manage depression in cancer patients should include strategies to best foster positive coping patterns and reduce perceived stress.
The purpose of this study was to examine association between oral health status and perceived general health symptom. We analyzed 14,231 subjects who participated in Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (2007~2009). All individuals were examined by a questionnaire about socioeconomic history, smoking and drinking habit, the frequency of daily tooth brushing, the presence of regular dental visit, and EuroQol-5D. Dental survey was conducted to find the decayed, missing, and filled teeth (DMFT) index and community periodontal index. Subjects with perceived problem with mobility had higher DMFT index (odds ratio, 1.18, p<0.001). Subjects with with perceived problem with pain/discomfort had higher DMFT index (odds ratio, 1.16, p<0.001). Self-rating general health symptom was not associated with periodontitis (p>0.05). Perceived general health was associated with DMFT index. It is recommendable that we can use the perceived general health to predict oral health status.
This study conducted a survey of 249 adults to determine the effect of oral health beliefs on total body health by mediating subjective oral health. The results showed that the subject's oral health belief averaged 3.75 points, the component of oral health belief was 3.41, the severity 3.73, the importance 4.22 and the benefit 4.19, and the subjective oral health was 3.77 points and the overall health was 3.06. Oral health belief and subjective oral health were found to have a correlation of wealth (r=-0.54, p<0.001), oral health belief and total body health also had a correlation of wealth(r=-0.30, p<0.001), subjective oral health and total body health had a relationship of justice(r=0.47, p<0.001). It was also found that oral health beliefs affect total body health by fully mediating subjective oral health. Based on these findings, it is thought that oral health education programs for adult oral health beliefs can be developed and utilized as basic data for comprehensive general health care, including oral health care, based on correct knowledge and attitudes.

It used SPSS 14.0 from 626 university students. First, LOHAS trends was found to have positive effects on healthy menu and reusing had only positive effects on nutrition elements and nutritional value. On the other hand, durability was found not to affect nutrition elements and nutritional value significantly. Second, reusing and durability were found to have significant effects on healthful dietary behavior. Third, nutrition elements and nutritional value were found to have positive effects on healthful dietary behavior. Based on the results of this study, it is suggested that food industry managers should pay particular attention on the eating behavior of university students in developing healthy menu.
