  • Wikipedia is one of the world's most visited sites for content collaboration. Its success is due to thousands of volunteers' motivation and commitment to contribute their knowledge to Wikipedia. In this paper, we use the Cox regression model to assess the effect of self-loop editing on the promotion of Wikipedia featured articles. We collected 2978 Wikipedia featured article editing history from start of Wikipedia until 2011. We use self-loops as a proxy measure for Wikipedia editors' commitment, and find that self-loop editing has a positive effect on the promotion of featured articles. We further distinguish the self-loop into a short-term self-loop and a long-term self-loop. We find that long-term self-loop editing is more helpful than short-term self-loop editing. This research has been conducted with both theoretical and practical application methods.

Especially, career help from military organizations is closely related to affective commitment. Third, psychological contract fulfillment plays a key role in mediating the relationship between organizational career management help and affective commitment. • The current study is an attempt, in two separate surveys, to explore the role of motivation to lead, which has rarely been introduced into academic leadership research in Korea. For the survey and statistical analysis, the population is defined as the employees working in Korea. The motivation to lead is considered important in practices since without it any leadership development interventions show less possibility to succeed. The motivation to lead was defined in terms of three dimensions as in affective motivation, socio-normative motivation, and non-calculative motivation(Chen & Drasgow, 2001). The study then empirically explored the potential relationships between the three dimensions and leadership styles. Specifically, such leadership styles as transformational leadership, transactional leadership, and self-sacrificial leadership behavior have been correlated to motivation to lead. In addition, using regression analysis, the explanatory power of the motivation to lead on various dependent variables were investigated. As a result, the three dimensions of motivation to lead, that is, affective, socio-normative, and non-calculative motivations each were found to have strong correlations with transformational, transactional, and self-sacrificial leadership, as well as with other criterion-related variables such as organizational commitment and trust. Limitations of the current study, along with future research directions were also discussed.

  • This research attempts to analyze the relationship among leadership, LMX and organizational achievements for chefs in the Jeju district. The results of the research revealed that the leadership type only affected the servant leadership of LMX. Furthermore, the job satisfaction for leadership and LMX was influenced by organizational commitment. Therefore, to strengthen the relationship of LMX, the leadership type's servant leadership must be the essential link between the relationship of LMX, and LMX serves as the link between leadership and organizational achievement. Ultimately, to augment the employer-employee relationship, the factors of servant leadership must be applied, for example, by taking good care of the workers, persuasion, attentively listening to the workers, sympathy, and suggestion of vision, as well as the mutual link and respect among the employers and employees, all of which were shown to have positive influences on the organizational achievements.
