  • This study compares hand-based interfaces to improve a user's virtual reality (VR) presence by enhancing user immersion in VR interactions. To provide an immersive experience, in which users can more directly control the virtual environment and objects within that environment using their hands and, to simultaneously minimize the device burden on users using immersive VR systems, we designed two experimental interfaces (hand motion recognition sensor- and controller-based interactions). Hand motion recognition sensor-based interaction reflects accurate hand movements, direct gestures, and motion representations in the virtual environment, and it does not require using a device in addition to the VR head mounted display (HMD). Controller-based interaction designs a generalized interface that maps the gesture to the controller's key for easy access to the controller provided with the VR HMD. The comparative experiments in this study confirm the convenience and intuitiveness of VR interactions using the user's hand.

  • Applications which are implemented on Table Top Display are controlled by hands, so that they support an intuitive interface to users. Users feel the real sense when they interact on the virtual scene in Table Top Display. However, most of conventional augmented reality applications on Table Top Display satisfy only visual sense. In this paper, we propose an interface that supports multi-modal sense in that tactile sense is utilized for augment reality by vibrating a physical control unit when it collides to virtual objects. Users can feel the collision in addition to visual scene. The proposed system facilitates tactile augmented reality through an air hockey game. A physical control unit vibrates when it receives virtual collision data over wireless communication. Since the use of tabletop display environment is extended with a tactile sense based physical unit other than hand, it provides a more intuitive interface.

  • AR contents, if markers to be tracked move fast, show flickering while updating images captured from cameras. Conventional methods employing image based markers and SLAM algorithms for tracking objects have the problem that they do not allow more than 2 objects to be tracked simultaneously and interacted with each other in the same camera scene. In this paper, an improved SLAM type algorithm for tracking dynamic objects is proposed and investigated to solve the problem described above. To this end, method using 2 virtual cameras for one physical camera is adopted, which makes the tracked 2 objects interacted with each other. This becomes possible because 2 objects are perceived separately by single physical camera. Mobile robots used as dynamic objects are synchronized with virtual robots in the well-designed contents, proving usefulness of applying the result of individual tracking for multiple moving objects to augmented visualization of objects.

  • Due to COVID-19, the face-to-face on-site exhibitions were not held. With this opportunity, technologies such as virtual reality/augmented reality are increasing attention, and these technologies are being used in many fields. In this study, we made a virtual exhibition content which was produced using virtual reality technology. Our virtual exhibition was held in parallel with the on-site exhibition that included the same contents. Also this exhibition provided an opportunity to realistic experience using the head mounted display. In order to provide a high sense of presence, we created an open virtual space and used realistic 3D objects and textures. Although it is a virtual exhibition, the audience can experience a sense of realism like an on-site exhibition. After the exhibition was over, a survey was conducted on the audience who participated in both the on-site exhibition and virtual exhibition to analyze their responses. As a result of the survey, the similarity and immersion of the virtual exhibition were highly evaluated.

  • Augmented Reality is a growing area in virtual reality research, The world environment around us provides a wealth of information that is difficult to duplicate in a computer. This evidenced by the worlds used in virtual environments. An augmented reality system generates a composite view for the user. It is a combination of the real scene viewed by the user and a virtual scene generated by the computer that augments the scene with addition information. The registration method represent to the user enhances that person's performance in and perception of the world. It decide the direction and location between real world and 3D graphic objects. The registration method devide two method, Model based tracking and Move-Matching. This paper researched at to generate a commerce correlation using a tracking object method, using at a color distribution and information, in the sequence scene.

  • The AR(Augmented Reality) is the technique that make the fusion between real world and virtual object. The augmented object on real world can provide the visualization of digital information to user. Also, the real-time AR system makes the interaction between user and computers. Therefore, the immersion of user be increasing and help the information transfer to user with AR system. In this paper, we implement the AR system with the modeled VRML as a three-dimensional object using programming language. The application technique is proposed that augment the various virtual clothes to three-dimensional avatar. Moreover, we propose the novel interface by using marker that can be increase the immersion of user.

  • In the past, the Image processing system is independently implemented and has a limit in its application to a degree of simple display. The scope of present image processing system is diversely extended in its application owing to the development of image processing IC chips. In this paper, we implement the image processing system operated independently without PC by converting analogue image signals into digital signals. In the proposed image processing system, we extract the motion parameters from analogue image signals and generate the virtual movement to Simulator and operate Simulator by extracting motion parameters.
