Numerical analyses for mechanical behavior of cut-and-cover tunnel with precast arch type (프리캐스트 아치형 개착식 터널의 역학적 거동에 관한 수치해석)

  • The thickness of the material can be thinned because arch cut-and-cover tunnel has the support mechanism by the axial force, and the ground reaction force due moderate deformation can be expected thereby making it be dynamically advantageous, therefore the arch cut-and-cover tunnel has become more widely used. An important characteristic of the arch cut-and-cover tunnel is that the thickness of the material can be thinned because precast arch type has the support mechanism by the axial force. However, there is a different stress state surrounding the structures between normally excavated tunnels and cut-and-cover tunnels, it should be considered at designing. Therefore, finite element method was carried out to examine the mechanical behavior of the precast arch cut-and-cover tunnel considering construction procedure.

Mechanical behaviour of tunnel liner using precast segment reinforced by rib (리브 보강 프리캐스트 터널 Liner의 역학적 거동 특성)

  • Due to the limitation of construction efficiency and structural safety, the application of the high covering and wide width tunnels was limited prior to the introduction of precast cut and cover tunnels. Therefore, a cut and cover tunnel structure with rib reinforcement is proposed to mechanically improve the safety on condition of high covering and wide width tunnel. In this study, large-scale experiments are carried out to examine the mechanical behavior of the cut and cover tunnel structure with rib reinforcement under static load condition. Based on the results obtained from this study, the ultimate load of tunnel structure increases to about 3.3 times by rib reinforcement. Consequently, safety of tunnel structure increases compared to non-installed cases due to confining crown part by rib reinforcement.

  • The crossing construction under railroad have two methods which are cut and cover and trenchless method. first, cut and cover method is an extremely limited method concerning non-running time. Whereas, trenchless method is free from restriction such as train speed and running time, and has the strong points of safe and rapid construction. Front Jacking method, one of the trenchless methods, is frequently applied recently due to its stability during construction and vantage of assuring schedule reliability. The procedure is that after minimizing interlocking friction with structure and earth pressure due to jacking the small steel tube, pulling the precast box manufactured at the field in the ground using PC strand and hydraulic Jack. This method is able to be applied regardless of section size and length of box and condition of ground. And that is also pro-environmental. This paper presents the case of Daejeon E. W. perforate Road Project applied with the Front Jacking method.

  • World widely, the occurrences of earthquakes have been increased recently. Speculating from cases of earthquakes in the world, it is reported that damages have been made underground structures like cut-and-cover tunnels, especially on the upper of tunnel with a shallow depth and the backfilled area adjacently by earthquakes. Earthquakes have a tendency to increase recently in Korea but it is deficient in seismic design criteria. In this study, Shaking table test on both soil and EPS blocks was performed to analyze the efficiency of the seismic performance of the cut-and-cover tunnels according to characteristic of backfill materials and embanking material. It turned out to be effective in improving the seismic performance according to analysis of strain and bending stress of tunnel by earthquakes.

Determination of priorities for management to reduce collapse accident of open excavation and road sink in urban areas (도심지 개착식 굴착공사 붕괴사고 및 도로함몰 저감을 위한 우선 관리 요소 결정)

  • The collapse accidents during a open ground excavation in urban areas not only lead to human injuries and material damages in the construction site, but also lead to road sinks and damages to the adjacent facilities due to settlement of ground around the construction site. Therefore, during a open ground excavation in the urban areas, it is necessary to thoroughly prepare for prevention of collapse accidents, and consider whole construction stage such as planning, design and construction. In this study, the priorities to be managed mainly were obtained in order to prevent collapse accidents during a open ground excavation. After analyzing results from past accidents cases for open ground excavations, priorities were evaluated regarding collapse-inducing elements using the Delphi technique which is a decision-making method by consensus among experts. As a result, insufficient groundwater treatment, bad geotechnical investigation and instability on construction, etc. were obtained as priorities for prevention of collapse accidents.

  • 해저케이블 설치시 고비용, 민원발생, 환경오염 논란 등의 이슈가 많은 개착식 공법을 대신하여 현장에서 점차 친환경적 공법으로 자리 잡고 있는 비개착식 공법을 이용한 전력설비 건설이 활발하게 논의되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 이런 새로운 시도를 위해 필수적인 장거리 케이블 포설에 대한 새로운 방법을 현장실증을 통한 Data 확보 및 장비개발로 새롭게 제시하였다. 케이블 포설시 밀어주는 장비인 Pusher, 기존의 윈치와 Pusher 의 속도를 동기화시키는 장치 및 케이블을 꼬임없이 당기기 위한 다도체용회전형풀링아이 등을 개발하여 기존에 설치하였던 해저용특수케이블이 아닌 현재 일반적으로 사용중인 케이블의 포설가능 거리를 증가시켜 도서지역 전력공급 등을 위한 장거리케이블 포설에 비개착식 방식이 적용 가능 토록 새로운 케이블 포설공법을 개발하였다.

Evaluation of seismic fragility models for cut-and-cover railway tunnels (개착식 철도 터널 구조물의 기존 지진취약도 모델 적합성 평가)

  • A weighted linear combination of seismic fragility models previously developed for cut-and-cover railway tunnels was presented and the appropriateness of the combined model was evaluated. The seismic fragility function is expressed in the form of a cumulative probability function of the lognormal distribution based on the peak ground acceleration. The model uncertainty can be reduced by combining models independently developed. Equal weight is applied to four models. The new seismic fragility function was developed for each damage level by determining the median and standard deviation, which are model metrics. Comparing fragility curves developed for other bored tunnels, cut-and-cover tunnels for high-speed railway system have a similar level of fragility. We postulated that this is due to the high seismic design standard for high-speed railway tunnel.

  • 하천에서 취수원을 개발하는데 있어 지층의 구성으로 물리, 화학적 여과, 흡착 등을 통해 자연 정화되는 간접 취수 방식이 활발히 도입되고 있다. 양질의 취수원을 공급할 수 있는 간접 취수 방식은 수량 확보 측면에서의 불확실성과 유지관리상의 어려움 때문에 많은 시행착오가 발생된다. 이와 같은 단점을 개선하기 위해 하상을 개착하여 불균질한 대수층을 치환하고 스크린을 통해 간접 취수원을 개발하는 하상여과 방식이 도입되고 있다. 대수층을 치환하여 여재를 구성함에 있어 오염물질 및 탁도의 저감 효율을 극대화하기 위해 다양한 연구가 진행되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 개착식 하상여과에서 치환하는 여재의 구성에 따른 탁도의 저감 효율을 분석하기 위해 축소 모형실험으로 구성하였다. 각각의 여재의 구성에 대해서는 상수도 시설기준을 통해 축소된 입경의 매질로 구성하였다. 실험실 규모의 모형 수조($1500mm{\times}500mm{\times}1700mm$)를 구성하고 하부에는 내경 80mm이고 길이 1300mm인 기능성 스크린이 부착된 취수관을 설치하였다. 모형 수조에서 여재의 두께는 총 1000mm로 구성하였고, 각각의 층에 대해서는 250mm로 하여 4개의 층을 구성할 수 있도록 하였다. 치환하는 여재의 매질에는 자갈, 왕사, 중사, 화산석을 사용하였고, 각각의 입경은 5-10mm, 2-5mm, 1-2mm, 2-5mm이고, 탁도를 유발하는 물질로는 입경이 $20{\mu}m$인 황토를 사용하였다. 단일매질 구성을 통해 각각의 여재 종류에 따른 탁도 저감 효과에 대해서 분석하였고, 세 가지의 혼합매질 구성을 통해 치환층 여재의 배치에 따른 탁도 저감 효과를 분석하였고, 각각의 구성은 중사-왕사-자갈-화산석, 화산석-중사-왕사-자갈, 중사-왕사-화산석-자갈로 하였다. 주입수는 30-50NTU를 유지하였으며 유출수의 탁도를 통해 저감 효율을 분석하였다. 분석된 결과를 통해 개착식 하상여과 방식의 여재 구성에 대해서 탁도 저감에 효율을 극대화할 수 있을 것으로 보여진다.

  • A finite element method is used for the force analysis of semicircular arch shaped corrugated steel plate lining. The assessment of stability and behavior for several conditions are executed from the analysis of soil-structure interaction in accordance with CHBDC (Canadian Highway Bridge Design Code, 2000). One fortieth scaled model tests were conducted on the semicircular arch lining to verify the FEM analysis results under the earth-load conditions.
