Brand Positioning Strategy of Franchise Family Restaurant (프랜차이즈 패밀리레스토랑의 브랜드 포지셔닝에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to suggest positioning strategy according to franchising family restaurant brands. Discriminant Analysis was utilized to suggest methodological framework that seeks to find their relative positions in the family restaurant brands. As a result, the results show that five factors (employee service, physical environment, marketing, accessibility, and food quality) were extracted from Exploratory Factor Analysis that contains twenty three questions related to service quality of family restaurant. Second, Discriminant Analysis revealed that three factors out of five including employee service, physical environment, and accessibility showed the highest discriminant power. Based on the three factors, positioning maps were made and the location of four brands were identified. Third, service quality, satisfaction, and willingness had a significant influence on revisit intention.

Personalized and Social Search by Finding User Similarity based on Social Networks (소셜 네트워크 기반 사용자 유사성 발견을 통한 개인화 및 소셜 검색)

  • Social Networks which is composed of network with an individual in the center in a web support mutual-understanding of information by searching user profile and forming new link. Therefore, if we apply the Social Network which consists of web users who have similar immanent information to web search, we can improve efficiency of web search and satisfaction of web user about search results. In this paper, first, we make a Social Network using web users linked directly or indirectly. Next, we calculate Similarity among web users using their immanent information according to topics, and then reconstruct Social Network based on varying Similarity according to topics. Last, we compare Similarity with Search Pattern. As a result of this test, we can confirm a result that among users who have high relationship index, that is, who have strong link strength according to personal attributes have similar search pattern. If such fact is applied to search algorithm, it can be possible to improve search efficiency and reliability in personalized and social search.

A Study on Bikway Design Index for Digital Data Survey (자전거도로의 인프라 데이터 구축을 위한 설계지표 연구)

  • The purpose of paper is to find index for building digital database of bike infrastructure statistics by analyzing the existing design standards and manuals. The design standards and guides of both central and local governments which designates the design elements of bikeway were investigated to find the primary index, and then the attribute data of bikeway were grouped into four categories including transportation, geometry, pavement, safety and utility facility, and were analyzed to find the secondary index. A FGI(Focus Group Interview) was conducted with experts in the arena of transportation to collect the opinions on the selected index. It is found that the final twenty four design elements were selected and additional six elements were added. The proposed twenty four index of bikeway design elements are considered to be included when building the digital bikeway register database.

Evaluation and Case Study of Geoscience Data Repositories Using re3data.org (re3data.org를 활용한 Geoscience 분야 데이터 리포지터리 평가 및 사례 연구)

  • In order to share and reuse research data, data repositories are operated mainly by research institutes, communities, and countries. Currently, there are 3,236 data repositories registered on re3data.org, and the repositories are operated by each subject. The purpose of this study is to identify the operational status of data repositories in the Geoscience field and provide repository services in the field. As a result of the study, 634 out of 890 data repositories in the Geoscience field satisfied more than 4 out of 9 properties, confirming that approximately 74% of the repositories are generally well operated. In addition, as a result of checking the services in the repositories, it was found that they provide various implications in terms of data policy, curation, tools and APIs, and quality management. These research results will serve as a basis for reference when configuring data repository services in the Geoscience field in the future.

Factors Influencing Commuting Time to Work for the Simple Linkage Travel (단순연계 출근통행시간에 미치는 요인분석)

  • This study investigates the factor that influences commuting time to work when individuals allocate their time for different types of activities. The commuting time is an important indicator for an individual to determine the residence and choose the means of transportation. The analysis uses the data collected from people who live in Seoul metropolitan area including Seoul, Incheon and Gyeonggi Province, and commute to work and making the simple linkage travel (home-work-home) within the area. For the analysis, the Cox hazard proportional methodology was adopted. The method is known to be well applied without assuming any distribution in case of the dependent variable being continuous. For the covariate, the interaction effect between the space variable of the work place and the variable of transportation has been also included in the model. The commuting time to work has been estimated for both 1) the whole metropolitan area and 2) the separate regions i.e., Seoul, Incheon and Gyeonggi-Do. The result reveals that characteristic variables related to individual, household and travel properties influence the mode of transportation and the time allocated for commuting to work (p<0.01). This study also demonstrates the usefulness of the Cox hazard proportional model. The data used in this study is the actual household travel data surveyed in 2006 in the metropolitan area, and analyzing the survey data in 2010 is currently in progress. Comparison of the two survey data sets seeking any behavioral change is suggested for the future study.

Analyzing Pedestrian Characteristics Using the Seoul Floating Population Survey: Focusing on 5 Urban Communities in Seoul (서울시 유동인구조사자료를 활용한 보행특성 분석: 서울시 5개 생활권역을 중심으로)

  • This paper analyzes and compares the pedestrian characteristics of 5 urban communities with 2012 Seoul floating population survey data. First of all, differences in total pedestrian volumes and time distribution of the volumes are compared across the 5 urban communities and the effects of pedestrian road properties are investigated. Then, we conduct a regression analysis to find factors influencing pedestrian volume according to the type of urban community and day of week. As results, the urban community had the greatest volume and the volume increased significantly at lunch time. Center bus lane, bus stop, and crosswalk lead to more trips in the urban community, while opposite patterns occurred in the other communities. Less slopes and commercial region areas caused more trips in all communities. Regression analysis results showed that a variety of variables including demographic indices, land use type and pedestrian road properties differently affect pedestrian volumes in individual urban communities. The research can be used as basic data to establish polices for pedestrian environment improvement.

A Positioning Study of National Food: In Perspective of Korean, American, Chinese Food Tourists (세계음식 브랜드 포지셔닝에 대한 연구: 한국, 미국, 중국 음식관광객을 대상으로)

  • This study was conducted to derive a positioning map using multidimensional scaling method to understand how the brand image of national foods including Korean food, Chinese food, Japanese food, Thai food, and Vietnamese food is perceived by domestic and foreign tourists. In order to achieve the research purpose, this study collected 250 data through online and offline surveys for potential food tourists who are interested in visiting overseas. Except the unfaithful responses or missing values, 202 data were analyzed. As a result, first, 8 factors which are considered to be important by food tourists were extracted. Second, the result of similarity analysis using ALSCAL and PROXSCAL did not show that the foods of the five countries were very similar, but all countries seemed to be more likely to compete with each other. Third, attribute selection also indicates that mean value of food taste (3.88), national image (3.82), and sufficient food quantity (3.65) had high level of importance, respectively. These results may provide practical implications for development of branding strategy in food tourism.

A Study on Importance Setting of Activation Elements in Domestic Tourist Destinations Regeneration Consequent on the Cause of Stagnation or Decline (정체·쇠퇴원인에 따른 국내 관광지 재생 활성화 요소의 중요도 설정 연구)

  • Currently, 230 domestic tourist destinations have been designated, established, and operated in accordance with the Tourism Promotion Act. According to the results of preceding research, more than 30% of them have been getting into the stagnation or decline stage. This is becoming a burden to local governments operating and managing tourist destinations, making it necessary to seek resolution measures. Thus, this study determined the activation elements of stagnant/declined tourist destinations regeneration to deal with problems of domestic stagnant or declined tourist destinations and also to regenerate rational and sustainable tourist destinations. This study conducted a survey with experts based on causes for stagnation and decline of domestic tourist destinations suggested by preceding research. Based on the survey results, the activation elements of stagnant/declined tourist destinations regeneration were drawn through the Delphi Technique and Analytic Hierarchy Process. And then the priority and weight of the drawn activation elements of stagnant/declined tourist destinations regeneration were drawn for the sake of reasonable project progress of tour site regeneration. In the results of the analysis, as activation elements of stagnant/declined tourist destinations regeneration, a total of seven upper-attributes, 23 sub-attributes, and 66 detailed-elements were drawn. It would be possible to raise the efficiency of projects and rational decision-making when executing future tourist destinations regeneration projects by using the activation elements drawn. Also, the drawn elements could be applied to the actual tourist destinations regeneration projects as measures for the stagnant/declined domestic tourist destinations' contribution to the vitalization of local economy based on sustainability, prohibition of thoughtless development of domestic tourism projects, and also efficient use of tourism resources.

The Effects of Locational Point Representation of Apartment Complexes on Hedonic Valuation of Air Quality (공동주택 위치표현 방법이 대기질의 한계잠재가격 측정에 미치는 영향)

  • The marginal implicit price of air quality can be measured by taking a partial derivative of hedonic price function (HPF) with respect to the level of air quality. It has been pointed out that the size of the marginal implicit price varies with the use of different function forms, different estimation methods, and the different ways of measuring air quality level in estimating HPF. In addition to these factors, this study shows theoretically and empirically the way housing properties are represented on a digital map could differentiate the size of marginal implicit price of air quality when GIS is used to measure location attributes of the housing properties in the Korean apartment market. Furthermore, this study shows that the degree of difference in the marginal implicit price due to the manner in which housing properties are represented on a digital map can be larger than the degree of difference in the marginal implicit price due to using different function forms and estimation methods. The major implication from the results of this study is that one should carefully try diverse ways of representing housing properties in the Korean apartment market on a digital map in the process of estimating HPF, as he or she usually tries diverse function forms and estimation methods, to see if the value of the marginal implicit price of air quality varies substantially.

A study on primary control area for information security management system (ISMS): focusing on the finance-related organizations (정보보호 관리체계를 위한 주요 통제영역 연구: 금융 관련 조직을 중심으로)

  • Financial service industry has introduced and operated management systems such as information security management system (ISMS), personal information security management system, business continuity management system to protect and maintain suitably customer's financial information and financial service. This study started that it's desirable financial industry takes consideration of ISMS and it can be different types among various organizations taking consideration of culture, practical work, and guideline of information security. The study derives primary control areas of ISMS through analyzing non-conformity trends and control factors according to certification audit for finance-related organizations introduced international ISMS of ISO27001 which is well known and commonly applicable irrespective of areas in financial service industry. Through case analyses for five finance-related organizations operating ISMS, this study analyzed improvement effects of ISMS. It has a meaning as an initial research though it was difficulty in acquiring data for empirical study because of rare organizations maintaining certification in financial sector. As a result, number of non-confirmity from the first audit to three years' elapse was decreased every year. Physical and environmental security, communication and operations management, and access control having the highest frequency of non-conformity each presented 23%, 19%, and 17%, which reached 59% in total and they are derived into primary control areas. ISMS can fulfill technical, managerial, physical security issues, which have not been treated importantly in financial industry. In addition, this study presented that ISMS can be an effective management system applicable for financial service industry.
