  • Compared with public archives, personal archives are likely to disappear if creators don't preserve and manage them. So personal archives must be managed by oneself. But it's difficult to manage their archives systematically for people who don't have the expertise in archival science. Besides, there are not enough available informations. So this thesis suggests how to manage personal archives by two steps. First step is figuring out one's own archives through analyzing one's life by top-down approach and organizing them into collection. Second step is conducting archival appraisal by three steps and establishing classification schemes, describing them. Especially, this study adduce description elements using ISAD(G) for personal archives. this study also recommends using blogs on portal to manage one's archives easily. But they don't have the audit train and exporting function. So this thesis emphasizes the necessity of 'customized archive blogs'. At conclusion, this study highlights the necessity of developing education programs and manuals for people who are trying to manage one's own archives.

In many cases, the records of the deceased not just belong to the deceased, and many deceased did not explicitly disclose their online accounts and method of dispose of digital records during their lifetime, so this problem may lead to problems of inheritance to the bereaved family. In addition, digital records may be neglected or deleted after a person's death due to software problems, specific platform's terms of use, account deletion by bereaved family, etc. This leads to the problem that daily records, which are important clues to the social aspects at the time, are easily lost. Several studies have revealed that individuals are interested in preserving their digital records, but do not know how to do it, so they are benign neglect. For this reason, it is necessary to pay attention to personal digital records and personal digital legacy, and to prepare related policies and plans. • The personal history of individuals directly and vividly reflects the courses of their life and the society of which they are a part. It has become a meaningful part of the social landscape today to pursue efforts to understand humans and humanity correctly and properly through the windows of private records. Notably, the significance of keeping private records on the relationship between individuals and the society of which they are a part lies in the fact that they cooperate to build a foundation on which they can prosper together. One of necessary things to be done to fully appreciate the values of such private records is to perform serious analyses on particular individuals who are behind those records. Developing and refining methods of life history research such as time-line interviews exert positive influence in setting up a direction for private documentation systems where private records are collected and maintained.
