Eye Localization based on Multi-Scale Gabor Feature Vector Model (다중 스케일 가버 특징 벡터 모델 기반 눈좌표 검출)

  • Eye localization is necessary for face recognition and related application areas. Most of eye localization algorithms reported thus far still need to be improved about precision and computational time for successful applications. In this paper, we propose an improved eye localization method based on multi-scale Gator feature vector models. The proposed method first tries to locate eyes in the downscaled face image by utilizing Gabor Jet similarity between Gabor feature vector at an initial eye coordinates and the eye model bunch of the corresponding scale. The proposed method finally locates eyes in the original input face image after it processes in the same way recursively in each scaled face image by using the eye coordinates localized in the downscaled image as initial eye coordinates. Experiments verify that our proposed method improves the precision rate without causing much computational overhead compared with other eye localization methods reported in the previous researches.

  • Recently, many research initiatives have been underway to improve reception performance of ATSC based DTV signal in mobile channel by adopting multiple antennas. In this paper, we propose a new mobile channel model which can be applicable to any array geometry. And then we propose new channel estimation algorithm which uses PN5l1 sequence in field synch. The proposed algorithm is to estimate channel by correlating the input signal in If frequency band and finding maximum peak, which does not need complicated synchronization circuit. Finally, we propose new receiver structures which can be implemented at the front-end of the existing receiver with no modification. With computer simulation, we verify the performance of the proposed model and verify the performance of the receiver structure with computer simulation.

  • UPS system in the liquefied natural gas(LNG) receiving terminal is one of the fundamental equipment that need to sustain operation during earthquake. In this study, modal identification test of UPS system was performed based on IEEE Std. 693-2005 and natural frequencies and modal damping, mode shapes had been identified. In addition, tri-axial time history test was performed to check the behavior and stress of the equipment during earthquake. Eigenvalue analysis was performed and analysis model was modified by reflecting the results of the test. Static analysis by dead weight and response spectrum analysis were performed to compare the combined stresses with the stress results of test. Dynamic characteristics and combined stresses under seismic load condition of the improved analysis model were similar to the test results and in this regard the compatibility was proved.

  • Background subtraction is mainly used for the real-time extraction and tracking of moving objects from image sequences. In the outdoor environment, there are many changeable factor such as gradually changing illumination, swaying trees and suddenly moving objects, which are to be considered for the adaptive processing. Normally, GMM(Gaussian Mixture Model) is used to subtract the background adaptively considering the various changes in the scenes, and the adaptive GMMs improving the real-time performance were worked. This paper, for on-line background subtraction, applied the improved adaptive GMM, which uses the small constant for learning rate ${\alpha}$ and is not able to speedily adapt the suddenly movement of objects, So, this paper proposed and evaluated the dynamic control method of ${\alpha}$ using the adaptive selection of the number of component distributions and the global variances of pixel values.

  • This study analyze Online class's current condition in Smart era. And suggest better operation model based on Internet Architecture. This study focuses the condition of e-learning operation model in University online class. Especially, 'Time Check Idea' that using for attendance on e-learning class has some side effects. So this study would applied 'Qualitative Check Idea Concept' on e-learning class. Question Based System, QBS is example model. QBS is leading a Learner's participation in e-class by Making Quiz. These quizs are shared with other students and refer to studing contents. Practically operating Qualitative Concept model QBS on university e-class, we can seek for the effectiveness of Qualitative e-learning model QBS.

  • In this paper, we propose the enhanced Assessment Model of the Embedded Software Process(MND-ESPAM) which is suitable for the development work of weapons in Korea. In 2008. We developed the MND-ESPAM which is the assessment criteria of software process, but this model is inefficient to apply to Korean military area. Therefore, we elicit and analyze the problems of MND-ESPAM through tow methods. One is to research on the actual condition of the domestic defense industry about software process management. And the other is to apply MND-ESPAM to the defense companies acquiring CMMI level. In order to overcome these problems elicited above, we provide solutions to make MND-ESPAM linked with Software Development Process Guide of Defense Acquisition Program Administration(DAPA) and to systematically strengthen testing activities and to reduce the number of process areas. The proposed model was proved by two objective methods such as checking the coverage with CMMI and whether it is satisfied or not by modified requirements ISO/IEC 14598-3. At last, experts in the field of software process confirmed the effect of MND-ESPAM through applying MND-ESPAM to the defense industry company.

Baseline Model Updating and Damage Estimation Techniques for Tripod Substructure (트라이포드 하부구조물의 기저모델개선 및 결함추정 기법)

  • An experimental study was conducted on baseline model updating and damage estimation techniques for the health monitoring of offshore wind turbine tripod substructures. First, a procedure for substructure health monitoring was proposed. An initial baseline model for a scaled model of a tripod substructure was established. A baseline model was updated based on the natural frequencies and the mode shapes measured in the healthy state. A training pattern was then generated using the updated baseline model, and the damage was estimated by inputting the modal parameters measured in the damaged state into the trained neural network. The baseline model could be updated reasonably using the effective fixity model. The damage tests were performed, and the damage locations could be estimated reasonably. In addition, the estimated damage severity also increased as the actual damage severity increased. On the other hand, when the damage severity was relatively small, the corresponding damage location was detected, but it was more difficult to identify than the other cases. Further studies on small damage estimation and stiffness reduction quantification will be needed before the presented method can be used effectively for the health monitoring of tripod substructures.

A Statistical Correction of Point Time Series Data of the NCAM-LAMP Medium-range Prediction System Using Support Vector Machine (서포트 벡터 머신을 이용한 NCAM-LAMP 고해상도 중기예측시스템 지점 시계열 자료의 통계적 보정)

  • Recently, an R-based point time series data validation system has been established for the statistical post processing and improvement of the National Center for AgroMeteorology-Land Atmosphere Modeling Package (NCAM-LAMP) medium-range prediction data. The time series verification system was used to compare the NCAM-LAMP with the AWS observations and GDAPS medium-range prediction model data operated by Korea Meteorological Administration. For this comparison, the model latitude and longitude data closest to the observation station were extracted and a total of nine points were selected. For each point, the characteristics of the model prediction error were obtained by comparing the daily average of the previous prediction data of air temperature, wind speed, and hourly precipitation, and then we tried to improve the next prediction data using Support Vector Machine( SVM) method. For three months from August to October 2017, the SVM method was used to calibrate the predicted time series data for each run. It was found that The SVM-based correction was promising and encouraging for wind speed and precipitation variables than for temperature variable. The correction effect was small in August but considerably increased in September and October. These results indicate that the SVM method can contribute to mitigate the gradual degradation of medium-range predictability as the model boundary data flows into the model interior.

  • 본 연구에서는 가스 차단기의 소전류 차단성능을 개선하기 위한 최적화 과정에 대해서 나타낸다. 목적함수는 절연내력과 극간 인가전압의 차이의 최소값으로 선정하였으며, 목적함수가 최대가 되도록 최적화를 수행한다. 설계 변수로는 개극 전의 전극 이동길이, 노즐목 길이 및 노즐목 발산각과 노즐 하류장 형상을 채택하였다. 최적화 알고리즘으로는 (1+1) 진화알고리즘을, 유동해석을 위해서는 FVFLIC법을 사용하였다. 최적화 결과로 얻어진 모델은 초기 모델에 비해 소전류 차단성능이 상당히 개선되었음을 확인할 수 있었다.

  • 하천의 상류부터 하류까지 통합적이고 유기적인 수질관리를 통해 모든 생명에 젖줄이 될 수 있는 하천환경을 조성하는 방안을 모색하고 가용 수자원의 효율적 활용을 통해 건천화된 영산강의 유량을 풍부하게 하는 한편, 이상강우에 대비한 고품격 하천설계로 재해로부터 안전한 하천으로 역할을 수행할 수 있는 방안을 강구할 필요가 있다. 더욱 생물의 서식지를 복원하고 단절된 하천을 연계하여 BLUE-GREEN 네트워크를 형성하고 하천의 생물다양성을 증진하여 많은 동 식물들이 활동하고 서식하는 생태적으로 건전한 하천으로 조성하는 방안과 마한 및 백제문화의 산물인 영산강 유역의 역사유적과 황금박쥐 서식처 등과 같은 환경자원을 발굴 연계하여 미래지향적인 지역문화를 재창조하는 방안을 모색할 필요가 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 미래지향적 인 지역문화를 창조하고 하천의 생물다양성을 증진하기 위해 가장 우선시 되어야 할 수질개선을 위해 영산강 유역에서 가장 시급한 문제점을 발굴하고 맑고 문제점 해결을 위한 대안을 설정하여 수질모델을 이용하여 대안에 따른 수질모델을 이용하여 수질개선 효과를 분석하였다.
