New Experimental Methods to Improve on the Understandings of Atmospheric Pressure for Middle School Students (중학생들의 대기압에 대한 개념을 향상시키기 위한 실험방법 개선안)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the types of concepts about atmospheric pressure of middle school students and to design a new method to improve students' understandings on atmospheric pressure. The second grade students of the middle school has been selected and examined their pre-concepts on atmospheric pressure through questionnaires and interviews. Two groups of students have been taught using the second grade science textbooks and experimental methods designed from this study, respectively. The results suggest that we need to develope various teaching methods that can improve alternative concept as well as experimental tools that can help students understand difficult scientific concepts. The reason is that once alternative concept is occupied, it is extremely difficult to fix it. In addition, the proposed experimental methods are effective in establishing the concept and understanding on atmospheric pressure.

  • This study is based on Freudenthal's mathmatising process and the didactical phenomenology of linear function concept, I have described and examined the process in which students represent the constant rate of change into tables, graphs and equations and, in this way, how they construct mental objects and essence of the linear function concept. The students used the proportionality as composite units, when they represented the phenomenon with constant rate of change into tables. When representing in graphs, all but one student represented it into a line. There were differences among the students in the level they were using the given conditions, co-variation perspective, and corresponding rules when formulating equations. The students compared the relationship between two variables in a multiplicative way, and under the guidance of teachers they reached to the understanding that its relationship becomes a constant. Moreover, they could construct mental objects of a constant rate of change, understanding the situation where the relationship between time difference and distance difference becomes one value, namely speed. The students had difficulties in connecting the rate of change with the inclination of a line. The students constructed the essence (concept) of linear functions, after building and organizing the image that the rate of change is constant, the graph is linear, and the equation is formulated as y=ax+b (a: inclination, b: intercept).

  • 현재 국내의 건설 산업은 BIM(Building Information Modeling)이라는 새로운 패러다임으로의 변화를 모색하고 있다. 이미 국내 건축업계에서는 적극적으로 BIM개념이 도입되고 있으며 주로 국가 기반시설의 건설업무를 분담하고 있는 토목업계에서는 현재 BIM개념을 도입하기 위한 준비과정에 있는 단계이다. 이 연구에서는 대표적인 토목구조물인 교량을 대상으로 BIM개념 도입의 필요성과 교량을 건설하기위한 여러단계 중에서도 그 출발점이라 할 수 있는 구조설계 단계에 있어서 BIM개념의 도입 방법과 기존의 구조설계 프로세스를 BIM기반의 구조설계 프로세스로 변화하기 위하여 필요한 작업들에 대한 분석을 수행하였으며 결과적으로 교량 프로젝트에 대하여 BIM기반의 구조설계를 위한 최적의 프로세스를 구축하기 위한 연구를 수행하였다.

  • 유역 수자원 관리의 관점에서, 경작지에서 필요한 수량은 경작지에서의 작물생산을 극대화하기 위해 공급해야 할 수량으로 볼 수 있으며, 이는 작물 경작상태의 최대증발산량에서 경작이전상태의 실제증발산량을 감한 수량으로 추정할 수 있다. 즉, 작물 경작으로 인하여 증가된 물소모량을 순물소모량이라 정의하며, 우리나라에서는 1977년 낙동강유역 하구조사 기술보고서에서 처음 도입된 이후, 제3차 수자원장기종합계획(1991-2011), 21세기를 바라보는 수자원전망(1993), 수자원개발 가능 지점 및 광역배분계획 기본조사(1996) 등에서 유역규모의 수자원 부존량 해석, 수자원관리계획 수립을 위해서 유역 물수지 방법에 의한 순물소모량 개념의 접근방법이 적용되어 왔다. 본 연구에서는 제주도 지역에 순물소모량 개념을 적용하여 4개 시험유역(한천, 천미천, 강정천, 외도천) 및 제주도 전역에 대한 지역별 수요량을 산정하였다. 또한, 향후 예상되는 작물재배면적 변화에 따른 순물소모량의 변화를 검토하고, 기존 제주특별자치도 수자원관리종합계획(2013-2022)에서 제시하고 있는 필요수량 개념의 수요량과 비교하였다.

  • 메타버스는 1992년 스노크래시(Snow Crash)라는 소설에 의해 그 개념이 소개되었다. 그 이후 여러 발전 과정을 거쳐 개념이 정리되었지만, 메타버스가 본격적으로 이슈화된 것은 코로나19 팬더믹으로 인해 사람들의 생활 패턴이 오프라인에서 온라인으로 급격하게 변화하면서 부터이다. 현재 세계적인 대기업들도 메타버스에 대한 많은 투자를 하고 있으며, 수많은 메타버스 플랫폼이 출시되고 있다. 하지만, 처음에는 분명 매력적으로만 보였던 메타버스에 대해 대중들에게 점차 의문을 표하고 있다.. 메타버스의 어떠한 부분이 이러한 인식 변화를 가져왔는지 연구/분석하며, 메타버스의 개념적 한계를 극복하기 위한 방향성을 제시하고자 한다.

A Comparative Study on the Effects of Learning Sequences of Chemical Change Concepts (교수 학습 순서에 따른 화학 변화에 관련 개념 획득 정도의 비교 연구)

  • This study was to investigate the effective order of instruction for students learning the concepts of chemical change. Chemical change was considered as the important area in 8th grade chemistry part. The study consisted of 168 8th grade students, two classes of boys and girls each, from a middle school in Seoul. They were divided into two groups, the experimental group and the control group. The control group was taught in the order, which was presented in the science textbook; chemical change, atom, and molecule (CAM). For the experimental group, the order was molecule, atom, and chemical change (MAC). From the results of the study, there was a statistically significant difference between the control group and the experimental group. But the interviews indicated that the students were confused with the MAC method in spite of the effective learning. Therefore, for more effective concepts learning without a confusion, we need to provide our students with various learning sequences of science textbooks rather than fixed learning sequences.

A Development and Application of Play Learning Program for the Complement Number Concept (보수 개념 신장을 위한 놀이 학습 프로그램의 개발 및 적용)

  • This study has two goals. The First is to develop and apply a step-by-step program and the degree to which students' mathematical skills. The second is to analyze mathematical attitude change around the first grade students was done. The program for learning complement number is composed of series of 5 steps and 11 classes. Play for learning complement number, taking into account the difficulty of the learning steps 1-5 are organized. First step is composed of the classes which fragmented pieces of shapes to complete the entire geometry with fun activities for the entire part of the concept of learning and it maintenance concepts and can naturally learn by associating step. In second step, tools to take advantage of the real world and collecting the conservative concept. 3rd steps is to repair the mathematical concept of the parish in the learning stage of expansion. 4th step is halrigalri, number cards, making ten games etc. 5th step is to verify the concept of complement number and number operation ability. The concept of complement number through fun activities can improve students' mathematical skills, and mathematical attitude change. Early in the program, students use the finger to throw acid in the process. Simple addition and subtraction calculations may take a long time and error, but more and more we progress through the program using the fingers is eliminated and a more complex form calculations was not difficult to act out.

Analysis of Changes in the Concept of Digital Curation through Definitions in Academic Literature (학술 문헌 내 정의문을 통해 살펴본 디지털 큐레이션 개념 변화 분석)

  • In the era of digital transformation, discussions about digital curation have become increasingly active not only in academia but also in various fields. The primary purpose of this study is to analyze the conceptual changes in digital curation over time, particularly by examining the definition statements related to digital curation as described in academic literature. To achieve this, academic research papers from 2009, when the term "digital curation" was first mentioned, to 2023 were collected, and definition statements that explained relevant concepts were extracted. Basic statistical analyses were conducted. Using DMR topic modeling and word networks, the relationships among keywords and the changes in their importance over time were examined, and a conceptual map of digital curation was made focusing on the main topics. The results revealed that the concept of digital curation is primarily centered around the themes of "data preservation," "traditional curator roles," and "product recommendation curation." Depending on the researchers' intentions for utilizing digital curation, the concept was expanded to include topics such as "content distribution and classification," "information usage," and "curation models." This study is significant in that it analyzed the concept of digital curation through definition statements reflecting the perspectives of researchers. Additionally, the study holds value in explicitly identifying changes in the concepts that researchers emphasize over time through the trends in topic prevalence.

The Influences of Cognitive Conflict, Situational Interest, and Learning Process Variables on Conceptual Change in Cognitive onflict Strategy with an Alternative Hypothesis (대안가설이 도입된 인지갈등 전략에서 인지갈등 및 상황흥미와 학습 과정 변인이 개념변화에 미치는 영향)

  • In this study, we investigated the influences of cognitive conflict and situational interest induced by a discrepant event and an alternative hypothesis, attention and state learning strategies on conceptual change. A preconception test was administered to 486 seventh graders. They also completed the questionnaires of cognitive response and situational interest to a discrepant event before/after presenting an alternative hypothesis. After learning the concept of density with a CAI program as conceptual change intervention, the tests of attention, state learning strategies, and conceptual understanding were administered as posttests. Analyses of the results for 197 students having misconceptions about density revealed that post-cognitive conflict was significantly higher than pre-cognitive conflict. However, there was no statistically significant difference between the test scores of pre-situational interest and post-situational interest. Pre-cognitive conflict only exerted a direct effect on post-cognitive conflict, while post-cognitive conflict exerted a direct effect and Journal of the Korean Chemical Society an indirect effect via attention on conceptual understanding. Both pre- and post-situational interests were found to influence on conceptual understanding via attention. Attention had influences positively on deep learning strategy and negatively on surface learning strategy. There was a relatively small effect of state learning strategies on conceptual understanding.
