  • This study investigates author cocitation and author transition analysis which are two techniques to be used to construct author and concept networks by using a test collection of 4, 598 documents on the subject of chemistry. The author and concept networks can be used to understand the structual Knowledge of terms as well as intellectual structure of science. So, these networks could be basic data of knowledge base for subject literature.

  • National Knowledge and Information Resources of KADO(Korea Agency for Digital Opportunity and Promotion) were distributed to the several data centers. The metadata for the resources was the conceptual level recommended standard. It was not for the integration, but the retrieval. So it is not easy to integrate to the central metadata DB or connect metadata among the data centers. In this paper, we analysed the metadata of the several data centers and provided the integrated standard model for the central metadata DB.

  • Better utilization of the knowledge of employees in any organization has long been accepted as a vital component of a corporation's competitiveness. This has been considered even more important in the construction industry due to the dynamic and intermittent nature of construction projects. With the rapid advance of network technologies during the last decade, construction companies quickly shifted their focus of knowledge management to interactive online repositories. However, the efforts of leveraging organizational knowledge has remained fragmented in the construction industry until recent years. In addition, companies have begun to realize that actual returns on this investment in network technologies would be far less than initial expectations if online efforts do not incorporate companies' general offline knowledge management efforts, which are done without the use of computer network. Thus, this paper focused on assessment of implementing current Lessons-Learned Systems at the large construction companies in Korea to provide the foundation for developing a renovated conceptual Lessons-Learned System model.

Analysis of High School Students' Polar Literacy and Its Implications for Polar Education (고등학생들의 극지 소양 평가 결과 분석 및 극지 교육에의 시사점)

  • This study suggests the need for polar literacy education as an effective conceptual system to explain climate change in terms of science education in line with the common effort of humankind to respond to global environmental changes. To this end, we investigated the status of polar literacy in high school students through quantitative tests and qualitative interviews and discussed the resulting implications. A total of 329 high school sophomore students from two high schools participated in a test consisting of 25 true and false questions developed by referring to the Polar Literacy Principles, while 13 students agreed to be interviewed. The results showed that a somewhat insufficient understanding and conceptual gaps appeared regarding several areas of the Polar Literacy Principles. Knowledge of the geographic features of the polar regions was weak, and little was known about the components and key characteristics of the cryosphere. The lack of understanding of these concepts results in the inability of students to link the operational mechanisms of polar and global climate change sufficiently. While accepting unsatisfactory concepts in the school curriculum without criticism from outside media, students perceived the mechanism of climate change as somewhat monotonous or distorted. Moreover, linguistic information, analogies, and visual observation were used as cognitive strategies to compensate for the ambiguous understanding of polar and climate change. Based on the abovementioned results, we argue that polar literacy education should be introduced as a new knowledge system that can be used to aid a systematic and comprehensive understanding of climate change within the school science curriculum. Additionally, we suggest the following implications: review the consistency of knowledge related to polar literacy in other subjects, provide critical standards for out-of-school media information related to climate change, examine students' misconceptions, and identify improved thinking strategies.

지식학습 능력을 갖는 전문가 시스템

  • 전문가 시스템 개발과정에서 완전한 경험적 규칙들을 얻는 것은 극히 어려운 작업이다. 전문가들이 확고한 경험적 규칙들을 얻기위해서는 오랜 시간이 걸리며, 그 얻어진 지식조차 확신할 수 없다. 또한 같은 분야 지식도 전문가들 사이에서 큰 차이를 보일 수 있다. 이러한 상황에서 전문가 시스템이 보다 완전한 지식베이스를 얻어, 주어진 영역에서 기존의 고도 전문가 수준의 전문성을 갖는 완전한 전문가로 활약하기 위해서는 지식 배제, 둘째 기존의 경험적 탐색 공간은 물론 보다 다양한 문제 해결 전략이 가능한 심층적 탐색공간을 제공하여 그로부터 새로운 문제 해결 지식을 학습하는 자기 학습기능이 필요하다. 본지에서는 이러한 자기학습 기능을 갖는 전문가 시스템의 알고리즘을 검토하였다. 그리고 끝으로 전력계통에 대한 적용예로서 전압제어 전문가 시스템을 설명하였다. 아직 전문가 시스템의 자기학습 기능의 구현은 초보적 연구에 머물고 있으며, 그들의 학습 능력조차 낮은 수준에 불과하다. 그러나 전문가 시스템 연구자들은 기존 전문가 시스템의 문제점과 그 적응능력의 중요성을 인식하고 있기 때문에 보다 진보된 개념(데이타들로부터 이론과 원리를 학습하는)이 도입된 자기학습 전문가 시스템의 적용연구는 앞으로 여러분야에서 폭넓게 이루어 질 것으로 기대된다.

  • 21세기 경영전략 중 속도와 유연성을 가능하게 하는 것은 디지털을 기반으로 하는 정보기술이다. 1959년 Edith Penrose 가 "경영자원론적 기업론"에서 핵심역량 이론을 통해 연구한 후로, 지식증가의 중요성은 더 이상 무시될 수 없게 되었다(Penrose,1959). 지식 및 지식경영에 대한 개념이 구체적으로 형성되기 전에 1980년대 초부터 실무에서 먼저 지식의 중요성을 깨닫고 기업에서 이러한 지식을 어떻게 축적ㆍ관리 할 것인가에 초점을 둔 활동들이 수행되었다. 특히, 상당부분의 관심이 기술적 지식을 창출, 조직화, 이용하고 그래서 결과적으로 혁신을 가져올 원천들을 응용하는 방법에 집중되고 있다. 특히, 그 초점은 새로운 제품이나 프로세스를 창출하거나, 기존 제품 혹은 프로세스를 개선해서 보다 잘 시장의 요구에 부합하고 지속적으로 경쟁우위를 유지할 수 있도록 하는데 있다(Cole, 1998).(중략)1998).(중략)

Ontology-based Object-Image Recognition by Using Information on Inner-Objects (내부 객체 정보를 이용한 온톨로지 기반의 객체 영상 인식)

  • Since the features in object-images such as color and shape cannot clearly express the characteristic of objects, those features lead to vagueness of object-image recognition. Recently there have been studied on object-image recognition based on knowledge base in order to reduce the vagueness. However, because images are represented by numerical information but knowledge bases are represented by conceptual information, combining two kinds of information is difficult. In this paper, we compose knowledge base by using ontology to reduce the gap between the two kinds of information, and propose a method for object-image recognition to reduce the vagueness by using information on inner-object. Moreover, we confirm the usefulness of the proposed method through the experiments on object-image recognition in fruit domain.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the responses of pre-service elementary school teachers to the task that require to apply mathematics knowledge for teaching and from this investigation to draw some conclusions about teacher education. To do the study, task was to develop teaching materials and devise lesson plan for introducing the concept of plain figure 'kite'. For gathering data, 77 pre-service elementary school teachers were selected from the University of Education located in G city. Several conclusions were drawn as follow: first, task for applying MKT is needed to check whether pre-service teachers can apply. Second, assessment is needed to check what kind of MKT do pre-service elementary school teachers have.

초기설계 및 선박 유체 성능 해석 시스템

  • 본 연구는 CSDP-초기설계 시스템 개발'3' 세부과제로 수행되었으며 선박의 기본 성능 및 사양을 결정하는데 필요한 제반 기본 계산을 수행하고 설계자의 의사결정을 지원하는 대화식 초기 설계 전산 시스템의 개발에 그 목적이 있으며, 크게 개념설계 분야와 선형 설계분야로 나누어 개발 되어왔다.(Fig. 4.1 참조). 이번 4차년도에는, 프로그램을 보다 효율적으로 사용할 수 잇도록 하기 위하여 개년설계 시스템을 구성하는 단위 모듈들을 단독으로 사용 가능하도록 독립성을 유지 함과 동시에, 시스템 차원의 상위 레벨에서 각각의 모듈들을 통합 제어하는 수퍼어플리케이션 개념을 이용한 유연화된 대화형 개념설계 프로그램(BASCON-3)을 개발하였다. 그리고 선박의 주기관 선정과 관련한 경험적 지식을 도출하여 지식베이스를 구성하고, 주기관 데이터베이스 및 저항.추진성능 추정 모듈들과의 통합을 통한 시험형의 주기관 선정 지원 시스템(ME-ASSIST )을 개발하였다. 또한 그래픽 사용자 인터페이스(GUI)를 채택한 확장형 선형 정의 및 변환 프 로그램(MBASTRANS)을 개발하였다. 형상 모델러인 ACIS를 도입하여, 조선 분야에의 활용 가 능성을 연구하였고, 조선소에 GUI개발 기술과 시스템 통합 기술을 이전하였다.

Research on Knowledge Map using Electronic Cultural Atlas (전자문화지도를 활용한 지식지도에 관한 연구)

  • According to continuous development of information technology, it is needed to make convergence of other disciplines such as humanities and area studies. Among convergence fields related to information technology and humanities/area studies, electronic cultural atlas represents various digitalized cultural information on electronic map using spatial data such as points, lines, and polygons through time, spatial, and subject axises. Knowledge map is to represent special academic information based on electronic cultural atlas. In details, knowledge map can provide integrated information sharing and spread because academic information associated with electronic cultural atlas and data related to per subjects, regions, and period become organically connected. Therefore, knowledge map may be utilized to promote scholastic research and diffuse research result. In this paper, we describe basic concept and composition of knowledge map and propose design method to construct knowledge map.
