수치모델 자료를 이용한 영동지방의 대설사례 특성 분석

  • 영동지방은 서쪽으로는 태백산맥이 남북으로 위치해 있고 동쪽으로 동해와 인접해 있는 지리적인 위치로 전 계절에 걸쳐 지역 특성에 따른 국지적인 기상 현상이 많이 발생하고 있다. 특히, 대설은 영동지방의 기후 특징 중 대표적이라 할 수 있다. 대설 일수가 많고 강설량이 많은 영동지방의 강릉과 속초, 그리고 울릉도는 연 강수량에서 겨울철(12월~2월) 강수량이 각각 약 10%와 20% 이상을 차지하고 있는데 이는 우리나라 다른 지역의 5% 내외에 비하면 매우 높은 것이다. 이 지역의 강설 특징은 좁은 지리적 범위에 국한되어 나타나는 좁고 강한 강수역과 지역적으로 커다란 변화를 보이는 적설량과 강설 일수이다. 해안선으로부터 산맥의 분수계까지의 거리가 중요한 역할을 하고 있으며, 이러한 복잡한 지역에서의 강설의 발생과 강설량의 분포를 이해하기 위해서는 강설의 패턴을 분류하여 연구하는 것이 매우 중요하다. 본 연구에서는 cP 확장 시 영동지방의 강설 패턴을 하층 대류권의 바람장에 따라 산악 강설 패턴, 한기-해안 강설 패턴, 난기-해안 강설 패턴으로 분류하였다. 또한, 각 강설 패턴에 대한 종관적인 대기구조의 특성을 파악한 후 3차원 분석시스템을 이용하여, 2008년 12월 21일부터 22일까지 영동지방에 내린 대설을 한기-해안 강설 패턴으로 분류하고 분석하였다.

Fixed-wing Aircraft Course Control in Significant Wind (강한 바람조건에서의 고정익 항공기 코스제어 기법)

  • Basically the dynamics of the fixed-wing aircraft is based on the airspeed which is relative to the wind, but when it comes to the track guidance and control, ground speed is the factor to be considered. Especially in the case of low-speed fixed-wing unmanned aerial vehicles the difference between the airspeed and the ground speed is significant depending on wind conditions, so that the heading control and the course control have to be designed separately. This paper represents the course control method using the pre-designed heading control gains which meet the desired characteristics. Also, waypoint guidance and control algorithms are suggested applying this control method. Finally the robustness of the proposed method is confirmed by 6-DoF nonlinear simulation.

  • 에어보트(Air boat)는, 선체 상부에 대형 프로펠러를 장착하고 이의 추진력으로 고속 주행하는 특수형태의 선박이다. 선체 밑바닥은 판옥선처럼 평평하고 매끈하기 때문에 장애물에 걸리지 않아 얕은 수면, 개펄, 빙상, 늪지수풀 등 일반선박이 가기 어려운 지역에도 갈 수 있어, 특히 인명구조용으로 많이 이용되고 있다. 그러나 평평한 선저 때문에 파랑이 있거나 측면 바람이 강한 지역에서는, 에어보트는 직진성을 잃어버리고 풍하로 밀리게 되며, 개펄이나 얼음위에서는 정지거리가 길어지는 단점을 가지고 있다. 이 연구에서는 에어보트 선저에 스키드를 장착하여 횡류방지는 물론 직진성을 개선하였으며, 해상 시운전을 통해 성능을 검증하였다.

Wind and Bathymetry Effects on the Fresh Water Plume Structures (담수 확산에 미치는 바람과 해저 지형의 영향)

  • The structures of fresh water plume depending on estuarine geometries and wind directions (upwelling, onshore, downwelling, and offshore winds) were studied using the Regional Ocean Modeling System (ROMS). Four idealized estuaries, which are different in bathymetry, were considered. The results showed that the fresh water plume was restricted close to the shore line where a river was connected to the sloping shelf rather than the flat shelf due to the fast momentum exchanges from x, y to z momentums on the sloping shelf. Mild upwelling and offshore winds (${\mid}{\tau}_{\omega}{\mid}=0.01Pa$) enhanced stratification on the contrast to previous studies which showed that winds destroyed stratification by enhanced vertical mixing. However, downwelling and onshore winds had similar effects on the vertical structure of the fresh water plume as in previous studies enhancing vertical mixing. The plume was confined above the underneath submarine channel, thus the plume path was directly affected by the direction of the submarine channel on the shelf.

Atmospheric Pollutant Concentrations under the Influences of Internal Gravity Wave and Sea-Land Breeze Circulations in the Mountainous Coastal Regions (산악연안지역에서 내부중력파와 해륙풍순환 영향하의 대기오염농도)

  • Under the synoptic scale strong westerly winds flowing over the large steep mountains in the eastern coastal region, the strong downslope wind storms such as internal gravity waves should be generated in the lee-side of mountain. Int he daytime as sea breeze circulation induced by meso-scale thermal forcing from sea toward inland confines to the offshore side of coastal sites due to the eastward internal gravity waves. Thus, surface winds near the coastal seas were relatively weaker than those in the open sea or the inland sites. Evidently, two different kinds of atmospheric circulations such as an internal gravity wave circulation with westerly wind and a sea breeze circulation with both easterly wind near the sea surface and westerly in the upper level were apparently produced. Under this situation the atmospheric pollutants at Kangnung city should be trapped by two different circulations in the opposite directions and resulted in the high concentrations of Total Suspended Particles (TSP) and ozone (O3). At night a meso-scale land breeze from land toward the more intensification of westerly winds in the coastal regions. The concentrations of TSP controled by the strong surface winds blowing from the mountain side toward the coastal sea were relatively higher at night than those in the daytime case and the concentrations of O3 due to the downward transport of ozone from the upper atmosphere toward the surface were also much higher at night than during the day. Consequently, the atmospheric pollutant concentrations in the mountainous coastal region under the downslope wind storms were higher than those after and before the occurrences of wind storms.

  • 노지 고추 수확작업은 7~9월에 걸쳐 5~6회 수행되며 가장 더운 한 여름의 태양볕에 노출되어 장시간 수확작업을 하며 노지채소 및 고추 수확작업시 자외선 과다 노출되어 악성흑생종, 광선각화증, 편평세포 암 및 각종 피부암발생의 원인되기 때문에 적절한 해가림 장치의 설계가 필요하다. 해를 가려주는 장치에 사용되는 재질로는 우산 및 양산에 널리 사용되어지는 섬유로 폴리에스테르를 선정하였으며 두께로 우산의 재질로 많이 사용되는 75 denier을 채택하였다. 코팅의 종류로는 Foam, Milky, Silver, 폴리우레탄을 채택하여 섬유의 코팅 종류에 따른 차단 효과를 실험하였다. 실험 방법으로서는 KS K 0850 텍스타일의 자외선 차단율 및 차단지수 시험방법에 의거 하여 실험하였다. 자외선 UV-A(365n/m), UV-B(315n/m) 측정장치는 자외선 센서, UV램프, 인디케이터로 구성된 측정기를 이용하였으며 각 재료별 5회 반복 실시하여 평균치를 산출 하였다. UV-A(365n/m) 측정값으로는 FOAM, MILKY코팅이 된 섬유재질이 KS의 우산 및 양산품질표시기준에 부합하여 해가림 장치에 사용이 적절하였으며 UV-B(315n/m) 파장 차단율 측정값으로는 KS의 우산 및 양산품질표시기준에 모두 부합되었다. 또한 해가림 장치는 태양고도에 따라 각도를 조절 가능한 형태로 설계하였으며 직사광선이 가장 강한 시간대인 10시부터 12시를 기준하여 틸팅의 최대 각도는 20도로 개발하였다. 또한 바람에 의한 날림현상을 방지하고 통풍효과를 높이기 위해서 해가림 장치의 섬유를 2중 구조로 설계하여 바람의 순환이 되게하였다.

Performance Evaluation of a Natural Smoke Ventilator in Jeju (배연창의 개방층 설정방식에 따른 배연성능 평가 연구(제주지역 중심으로))

  • This study analyzed the performance of smoke exhaustion installed to secure the life safety from the smoke each opening modes, as performing the simulation on the Jeju regions generating to strong windy using CONTAM. We assessed the effectiveness of the system under conditions of high external winds as well as an ambient wind conditions. It also assessed the relative effectiveness of opening all vents versus opening only those vents which served rooms in which the fire was located. This study revealed external winds exerted a substantial impact on the performance of the smoke ventilation system. It was found that opening the ventilation system in the room containing the fire resulted in a greater performance than opening vents in both fire in all rooms. The reduced performance of the smoke ventilation system upon the opening of all vents is thought to be due to the intrusion of outside air, and the establishment of unfavorable air circulation, caused by the negative pressure generated in the building.

Geomorphological Properties and Changes on River-Mouth Bar at Song-cheon River (송천 하구 사주의 지형 특성과 변화 과정)

  • The Geomorphological properties and ages of river-mouth bar at Song-cheon River in the East Coast of Korea, Yeongdeok-gun, Gyeongbuk Province are estimated, and the long-term and short-term changing processes and causes are analyzed. Sand grains of the bar near the coastline show the finer trends from south to north and these can be attributed to the northward movement of waves and long-shore currents. The absolute ages of bar and nearby coastal sand dune are less than approximately 100 years ago, indicating that the bar has experienced the active geomorphological changes. While the inlet located at south part of the bar between 1971 and 1995, the inlet has located at north or middle part since 1995. These may caused by the changes of movement directions of waves and long-shore currents due to the apparent northward movements of winds and currents. In short-term, the higher elevation, larger area, simpler landform relief and more variable location of inlet and morphology of bar can be observed between September and March due to the dominance of sedimentary processes by wave and wind processes.

Modeling of Tidal and Wind-Driven Currents in Eastern Coastal Waters of the Yellow Sea (황해동측 연안성의 조류 및 풍성류 모형)

  • This study uses a numerical model to investigate the circulation patterns of the tidal and wind driven current components. The model is vertically averaged 2-D transient using explicit nume-rical scheme, based on equation of motion and continuity. forced by water elevation at open boundaries and wind stress. The model domain extends from 35$^{\circ}$N to 36$^{\circ}$40'N lat., and 125$^{\circ}$E to 126$^{\circ}$40'E long. with x, y grid spacing of 5 km. The model reproduces the tide and tidal currents by 4 major constituents successfully with more than 90% accuracy when compared to two offshore tidal records and currents at one offshore measurements for 22 days. Responses of coastal waters to six schematic wind events are analyzed in terms of current distribution patterns and local features. Regardless of wind directions. strong coastal currents were produced. Bottom topography plays a critical role in producing a local eddy Held whose center is located offshore Pu An with its major radius of 40 km.

A Study on Nonlinear Interaction of Tidal Current and Wind-Induced Current using a Point Model (점모형을 이용한 조류와 취송류의 비선형 상호작용)

  • The influence of vertical eddy viscosity to the nonlinear interaction of tidal current and wind-induced current is examined using a point model. A zero-equation turbulence model is derived by simplifying the q$^2$-q$^2$1 turbulence model under the assumption that the generation of turbulence kinetic energy is balanced with its dissipation and is further modified to include the depth of frictional influence properly The zero-equation turbulence model is derived and the possibility of resonance in the presence of Coriolis effect is suggested. The amplitudes of tidal currents remain the same regardless of the applied wind stress, but the over-tide component is generated due to the nonlinear interaction of tidal current and wind-induced current. Significant changes in the vertical profile of wind-induced currents can occur according to tide-induced background turbulence. The turbulence model can give rise to misleading results when applied to the wind-driven circulation in the tide-dominated sea such as Yellow Sea unless the tide-induced background turbulence is adequately included in the parameterization of vertical eddy viscosity.
