  • In connection with the OECD's core competency proposal, we would like to consider an attempt to realize this in liberal arts education at Korean universities and examine what kind of education plan it is desirable to present to learners. Universities are expanding competency-based education into human and social fields by reconsidering new talent awards and the direction of education. In this way, each university selects and organizes core competencies and incorporates the core competencies that the university pursues into educational goals. Under the supervision of the Ministry of Education, education centered on core competencies is exploring its potential in liberal arts courses at universities above all else. We want to explore a methodology that can achieve learner-centered teaching and learning effects in the process of incorporating and accepting this. Language acquisition along with cross-cultural understanding is above all else a part that can promote learners' competencies in terms of diversity and mutual understanding. Therefore, we reflect this in French liberal arts education and explore teaching and learning processes by incorporating respect for diversity and mutual cultural understanding competency education related to learners' motivation into lectures. We aim to supplement this through collaboration and mutual cultural understanding processes as presentation tasks in order to overcome the existing competency-based evaluation while deriving acceptance results from learners. Therefore, they recognize that the direction of core competency education naturally shifts to value-centered education.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the usages and problems of distance science learning and learner behavior analysis. This study established an Sixteen-weeks period of experimental treatment from March to June 2020, and the students who participated in the study formed a research group of 128 students in 2nd grade of their advanced classes who are attending the second semester of B university of education and taking courses in 'teaching research 1'. B university of education is singleness class that doesn't have compare group, so this study is constituted only study group. The results of the study were as follows. First, The students who took science learning remotely liked using the university's LMS system. Second, it was not efficient for the faculty member's scientific data presentation to operate smoothly in the online system. Third, it is necessary to set various educational platforms as a standardized platform. Looking at the pros and cons of various platforms may vary depending on the suitability of education, but if the LMS system, which is a professional teaching support method, is upgraded to meet the needs of learners, the satisfaction of higher instructors and learners will be higher.

  • We had a full scale of literature survey and case survey of mathematics Flipped Learning class models. The purpose of this study is to design and adopt a Flipped Learning 'Linear Algebra' class model that fis our need. We applied our new model to 30 students at S University. Then we analyzed the activities and performance of students in this course. Our Flipped Learning 'Linear Algebra' teaching model is followed in 3 stages : The first stage involved the students viewing an online lecture as homework and participating free question-answer by themselves on Q&A before class, the second stage involved in-class learning which researcher solved the students' Q&A and highlighted the main ideas through the Point-Lecture, the third stage involved the students participating more advanced topic by themselves on Q&A and researcher (or peers) finalizing students' Q&A. According to the survey, the teaching model made a certain contribution not only to increase students' participation and interest, but also to improve their communication skill and self-directed learning skill in all classes and online. We used the Purposive Sampling from the obtained data. For the research's validity and reliability, we used the Content Validity and the Alternate-Form Method. We found several meaningful output from this analysis.

  • In this study, pre-service elementary teachers (n=68) participated in an inquiry of exploring children's science ideas as group work. After conducting interviews with children, the pre-service teachers analyzed their science ideas on specific concept and propose a teaching plan based on their findings. This paper aimed to find the positive learning experiences of the pre-service teachers by looking into their inquiry process. Questionnaire, researcher's journal, classroom videos and final reports were collected and analyzed for this multiple case study. Four representative groups were chosen and interviewed after submitting their final reports for in-depth understanding of their inquiry process. The positive learning experiences found in the process of their inquiry into children's science ideas were as follows: (1) exploring children's ideas have brought the opportunity for enhancing pre-service teachers' science content knowledge. (2) the pre-service teachers developed their ability in creating questions that probe into children's understanding. (3) the pre-service teachers recognized that children have various incomplete and unstable science ideas. (4) the pre-service teachers could suggest teaching strategy based on their findings.

  • Because the role of the teacher is important for the education to actualize the goals of the curriculum, the interest about the teacher's knowledges has been addressed as an important research topic. Among them, the pedagogical content knowledge is the knowledge that can emphasize the professionalism of the teacher. In this study, I analyzed the elementary pre-service teachers' the problem solving strategies that they imagined the methods that elementary school students can think about fraction division. Pre-service teachers who participated in this study were completed all of the mathematics education courses in the pre-service teachers' education courses. The research was conducted using the four type-problems of fraction division. The results showed that elementary pre-service teachers responded in the order of equal sharing problem-measurement division-partitive division-context of determination of a unit rate problem. They presented significant responses not only with typical algorithms but also with pictures or expressions. On the basis of this research, we have to take an interest in the necessity of sharing and recognizing various methods of fraction division in pre-service teachers education.

  • We investigated the e-learning platforms for higher education in developing countries. First, we introduced e-learning environmental factors such as ICT technology as well as ASEAN Cyber University (ACU) project for developing countries. And then, we presented Cambodian case as an example of e-learning platform for developing countries. We analyzed the national education policy and ICT environment as well as the demands and obstacles of e-learning in Cambodia. We derived e-learning strategies and plans based on the analysis results, and finally proposed e-learning platform C-MOOC Net. In order to verify the proposed scheme, we developed prototype of C-MOOC Net system which is implemented based on open software. As a result, we have met the requirement of networking the C-MOOC hub, supporting localization of local language and personalization of favorite courses respectively.

  • Most of the courses that teach the Python programming language are liberal arts courses that all students in general universities must complete. Through this, non-major students who have learned the basic programming process based on computational thinking are strengthening their convergence capabilities to apply SW in various major fields. In the previous research results, various evaluation methods for understanding the concept of computational thinking and writing code were suggested. However, there are no examples of evaluation problems, so it is difficult to apply them in actual course operation. Accordingly, in this paper, a Python basic programming curriculum that can be applied as a liberal arts subject for non-majors is proposed according to the ADDIE model. In addition, the case of evaluation problems for each Python element according to the proposed detailed curriculum was divided into 1st and 2nd phases and suggested. Finally, the validity of the proposed evaluation problem was analyzed based on the evaluation scores of non-major students calculated in the course to which this evaluation problem case was applied. It was confirmed that the proposed evaluation problem case was applied as a real-time online non-face-to-face evaluation method to effectively evaluate the programming competency of non-major students.

  • The objective of this study is to describe the status of operation of after-school science activities in elementary school and offer suggestions for the activation of such programs by targeting parents who participated in an open class, and examining their recognition of the program. To achieve this, announcement sheets for after-school science activities in 809 elementary schools in Gyeonggi-do were collected to examine the class names, class fees, material costs, and management status of class hours. In addition, 36 parents who participated in an open class were targeted, and their recognition of the program was analyzed using the results of a questionnaire. A draft of the questionnaire was developed by revising and complementing the 2013 customer satisfaction survey of the living science class of the Korea Foundation for the Advancement of Science & Creativity. The final questionnaire was completed by consulting 1 science education professor and 12 Master's candidates in science education for advice on the validity of the questionnaire content and terminology. The collected data were analyzed using a statistical program. Based on the results of the study, the following suggestions are proposed for the activation of after-school science activities in elementary school. First, the needs of education consumers (parents) should be identified and reflected persistently to activate after-school science activities in elementary school. Second, a science program that reflects the demand and choice of education consumers (parents) needs to be developed for the continuous activation of after-school science activities in elementary school.
