Edge Enganced Error Diffusion using an Adaptive Threshold Modulation (적응형 임계값 변조를 이용한 경계강조 오차확산법)

  • 오차확산법은 중간조 처리에서 우수한 영상의 재현능력을 갖는 기법이다. 그러나 이의 기법은 경계재현 능력이 미약하며, 주기적인 패턴이 발생하여 영상의 화질을 저하시키는 단점이 있다. 본 논문에서는 경계재현의 능력을 개선하기 위한 경계강조법과 주기적인 패턴 발생을 감소시키기 위한 적응형 임계값 변조를 적용하는 방법을 제안하였다. 경계강조를 위한 임계값을 변조는 원영상의 공간적 기울기 정보를 활용하여 수행하였고, 동시에 기울기 정보를 이용하여 청색잡음 마스크를 적응적으로 적용하는 임계값 변조로 주기적인 패턴의 발생을 감소시키도록 하였다. 적응형 임계값 변조를 적용한 실험에서 영상의 주기적인 패턴이 감소된 보다 선명한 경계강조의 중간조 영상을 얻을 수 있었으며, 객관적인 특성분석을 위한 표시오차의 RAPSD, 거리에 따른 경계상관도 및 로컬 평균 일치도의 분석에서 제안한 기법이 효율적임을 확인하였다.

  • 자막은 자막을 볼 수 있는 모든 사람들의 정보전달, 의사소통을 할 수 있는 유용한 도구로 사용 되고 있지만 자막은 평범한 텍스트로 있어 자막에서 강조된 부분, 감정 등을 전달 할 수 없다는 단점을 가지고 있다. 그러므로 청각 장애인들은 해당 컨텐츠의 감정, 강조 되는 부분을 알 수 없어 대화의 숨은 의미가 다른 방향으로 이해 할 수 있다는 위험성을 가지고 있다. 본 논문에서는 음성을 텍스트로 변환하는 STT(Speech To Text)를 이용하여 동영상 스트리밍 서비스를 실시간으로 음성을 텍스트로 변환과 동시에 강조하는 부분까지 개발하여 청각장애인 입장에서 기존 자막보다 효율적인 시각적 효과를 주는 미디어 접근을 위한 동영상 스트리밍 자막 서비스를 개발하고자 한다.

Improved Edge Enhanced Error Diffusion Halftoning Using Local Mean and Spatial Variation (국부 평균과 공간 변화량을 이용한 개선된 에지 강조 오차확산법)

  • The paper proposes the improved error diffusion halftoning system to enhance the edges using the spatial perceptual characteristics of the human visual system. The proposed method computes a spatial variation(SV), which is the difference between a pixel luminance and the average of its $3{\times}3$ neighborhood pixels' luminances weighted according to the spatial positioning. Information of edge enhancement(IEE) Is computed using the SV and the local average luminance. The IEE is added to the quantizer's input pixel and feeds into the halftoning quantizer. The quantizer produces the halftone image having the enhanced edge. The performance of the proposed method is compared with conventional methods by measuring the edge correlation. The halftone images by using the proposed method show better quality due to the enhanced edge. And the detailed edge is preserved in the halftone images by using the proposed method.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze how the emphasis of the 2007 curriculum revision is reflected on the units of 'Adolescence Self-Management' and 'Adolescence Consumption life' in the Technology·Home Economics textbooks that are used in middle school from this year. The entry style of large, middle, and small units, the objectives statements, the main contents, the activities, illustrations/tables/pictures, the supplemental materials, and the ending style of middle and large units of 12 Technology·Home Economics textbooks were analyzed. Among the several specific emphasis in the 2007 curriculum revision, 3 major emphasis were selected. The 3 major emphasis that were selected were: practical reasoning process, sustainable consumption life, and career education. How these 3 emphasis were reflected in the various parts of the 12 textbooks were analyzed using the criteria found in the literature. Diffusion-weighted MR imaging findings of intracerebral hematoma (뇌실질내의 확산강조영상 소견)

  • Purpose : To evaluate diffusion-weighted imaging findings of intracerebral hematoma according to the time sequence. Materials and methods : Seventeen patients with intracerebral hematoma were studied. Diffusion weighted images using 1.5 tesla MRI machine were obtained with b-value of $1000{\;}sec/\textrm{mm}^2$. The patients were grouped as hyperacute stage(within 12 hours, 5 patients), acute stage(within 3 days, 4 patients), subacute stage(within 3 weeks, 4 patients), and chronic stage(after 3 weeks,4 patients). The signal intensities were analysed as bright, high, iso, low and dark at the central and peripheral portions of the hematoma in each stage, and compared with those of T2 and T1 weighted images. Results : The signal intensities of the central and peripheral portion of the intracerebral hematoma on diffusion-weighted images were high and dark in hyperacute stage, dark and high-bright in acute stage, and high-bright and dark in subacute and chronic stages. The patterns of signal change of hematoma on diffusion-weighted image according to the time sequence were similar to those on T2-weighted image, but changed early and prominently. Conclusion : The intracerebral hematoma on diffusion-weighted image showed unique central and peripheral signal intensity according to the time sequence. Central portions show high to bright signals in hyperacute, subacute and chronic stage, and dark signal in acute stage, and peripheral portions show dark signals in hyperacute, subacute and chronic stage, and high to bright signal in acute stage.

Diffus ion-Weighted MR Imaging of Spinal Cord Infarction (척수경색의 확산강조자기공명영상)

  • Purpose : To evaluate the usefulness of diffusion-weighted imaging(DWI) and quantitative apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) maps in the patients with spinal cord infarction. Materials and methods : We studied 6 patients presented symptoms with spinal cord infarction, retrospectively (3 men and 3 women). We obtained multi-shot echo planar-based, DWI using 1.5T MR scanner at 5.4 mean days after the onset of ischemic symptoms. In six patients, signal intensity was acquired at conventional b value $1000s/\textrm{mm}^2$). The ADC value for the normal spinal cord and for infarcted lesions was measured from the trace ADC maps by using regions of interest positioned over the spinal cord. We analyzed signal intensity of lesion on MRI and DWI, and compared with ADC values in infarcted lesions and normal site. Results : T1-weighted MR image showed isosignal intensity in four of six patients and low signal intensity in two of six. T2-weighted MR image demonstrated high signal intensity in all of six. All DWI were considered to be diagnostic. All of six depicted a bright signal intensity on DWI. ADC values of infarcted lesion were measured lower than that of normal spinal cord on ADC map. The differences in ADC values between infarcted and normal spinal cord were significantly different (p<0.05). Conclusion : It is possible to obtain DWI and ADC map of the spinal cord and DWI may be useful in the early diagnosis and localization of lesion site in patients with spinal cord infarction.

The Study on the Convergence Perception of College Students for the Physical Education. (체육교육에 대한 대학생들의 융합적 인식 연구)

  • The purpose of this study was to explore college students' subjective perception on physical education using Q-methodology. Thirty college students participated in this study. This study found four types of college students' perception for physical education. Type I is named 'the type of Emphasizing Expertise.' The subjects of type I emphasize the importance of practicing professional motor skills and basic physical education knowledge in physical education classes. Type II is named 'the type of Emphasizing Instructional Strategy.' The subjects of type II emphasize the importance of developing effective teaching methods for students to participate actively. Type III is named 'the type of Making Physical Education Mandatory.' The subjects of type III emphasize the needing to make physical education and to increase physical education classes in school. Type IV is named 'the type of Emphasizing Sports for All.' The subjects of type IV emphasize to improve students' fitness and social-skill and connect between physical education and sports for all. These findings will contribute to plan the effective school curriculum.

An Adaptive Dynamic Range Linear Stretching Method for Contrast Enhancement (영상 강조를 위한 Adaptive Dynamic Range Linear Stretching 기법)

  • Image enhancement algorithm aims to improve the visual quality of low contrast image through eliminating the noise and blurring, increasing contrast, and raising detail. This paper proposes adaptive dynamic range linear stretching(ADRLS) algorithm based on advantages of existing methods. ADRLS method is focused on generating sub-histograms of the majority through partitioning the histogram of input image and applying adaptive scale factor. Generated sub-histograms are finally applied by linear stretching(LS) algorithm. In order to validate proposed method, it is compared with LS and histogram equalization(HE) algorithm generally used. As the result, the proposed method show to improve contrast of input image and to preserve distinct characteristics of histogram by controlling excessive change of brightness.

  • Diffusion-weighted magnetic resonance imaging (DW MRI) is a fast unenhanced technique that shows promise as a stand-alone modality for cancer screening and characterization. Currently, DW MRI may have lower sensitivity than that of dynamic contrast-enhanced MRI as a standalone modality for breast cancer detection but superior to that of mammography, which may provide a useful alternative for supplemental screening. Standardized acquisition and interpretation of DW MRI can improve the image quality and reduce the variability of the results. Furthermore, high-resolution DW MRI, with advanced techniques and postprocessing, will facilitate better detection and characterization of subcentimeter cancers and reduce false-negatives and false-positives. Future results from ongoing prospective multicenter clinical trials using standardized and optimized protocols will facilitate the use of DW MRI as a stand-alone modality.

Anthracofibrosis Mimicking Lung Cancer on CT: MR Imaging Findings (CT상 폐암과 유사하게 보이는 기관지 탄분 섬유화증의 자기공명영상 소견)

  • Purpose : To describe the MRI findings in the bronchial anthracofibrosis mimicking lung cancer on CT examination. Materials and methods : Ten patients, who showed CT findings mimicking lung cancer, were selected among fifty patients of bronchial anthracofibrosis proven by bronchoscopic biopsy, consisting of two men and eight women, ranging in age from 58 to 79 years old faverage age, 68 years old). CT scan and MRI were performed in all patients (n=10). Percutaneous lung biopsy on mass was performed in one patient. MRI findings were analyzed with the emphasis on the signal intensity of the mass (n=4), collapsed lung (n=4) and Iymph node (n=10) on axial T1 and T2-weighted images by two radiologists in consensus. No contrast enhancement was used in all cases. Results : CT scan revealed mass (n=4), atelectasis with obstructive pneumonia(n=4) and bronchial wall thickening(n=2). All patients showed enlarged medistinal Iymph nodes(n=10). The mass showed low signal intensity on T1WI and T2WI (n =4). The collapsed lung in patients with atelectasis indicated intermediate signal intensity on T1WI and low signal intensity on T2WI (n= 4). Nine patients showed low sisnal intensity of Iymph node on T1WI and T2WI, except one patient who showed central high signal intensity with peripheral rim of low signal intensity in right lower paratracheal llmph node on T2WI. Conclusion : Low signal intensity of a mass, collapsed lung, and lymph nodes on T2WI in anthracofibrosis patients may be helpful in differentiation of the lesion from lung cancer.
