Vibration Reduction of a Large-sized Bus Roof through Change of the Factors Characteristics (인자 특성 변화를 통한 대형버스의 루프 진동 저감)

  • If the vibration is occurred in a large-sized bus roof, it makes people annoying and complaining the quality of a large-sized bus. So in design stage, it must be considered. To assess vibration at the roof which is equipped with air conditioner in design stage, finite element model is constructed. Computer simulation analysis and experimental method are performed. The dynamic characteristics of the large-sized bus are found by using eigenvalue method. It is related with dynamic behavior. The running conditions of a large-sized bus are velocity and road condition which followed experimental conditions. And the frequency response of a large-sized bus is well correlated with analysis result. Modal participation method is used for finding major modes at each peak. Using this method, we found that front and rear suspension system, engine mounting system and roof structure are the major reasons of the roof vibration. To reduce vibration level of roof in a large-sized bus, spring stiffness of front and rear suspension system, spring stiffness of engine mounting system and roof structure are properly combined. From this study, the vibration characteristics of the roof structure of a large-sized bus can be to a satisfactory level.

Forced Vibration Analysis of 4 DOF system for Design of Slip-Stick Actuator (슬립-스틱 구동기 설계를 위한 4자유도 시스템 강제진동 해석)

  • The friction is inevitable and unpredictable phenomena, so most mechanical systems are designed to low friction effect by using bearings and lubricants. However, the slip-stick actuator applies the friction force to its movement. The slip-stick mechanism is applied the piezoelectric actuator to overcome short displacement. Fast response of piezoelectric actuator is also good characteristic for the slip-stick mechanism. However, the piezoelectric actuator with slip-stick mechanism isn't common, because its cost and driving voltage are too high. In this paper, a voice-coil actuator with slip-stick mechanism is introduced. The cost and the driving voltage of a voice-coil actuator are much less than the piezoelectric actuator. And a dynamic vibration amplifier is proposed to adjust the dynamic performance of the actuator. By the results of numerical analysis, the feasibility of a dynamic vibration amplifier is verified.

The Effects of Engine's Misfiring Condition on the Dynamic Behaviour of Resilient Mounting Systems (엔진의 착화실패가 탄성지지계의 동적거동에 미치는 영향)

  • There is a tendency of using the resilient mounting system to control the structure born noise transimitted from a engine of which weight is comparatively light and of which speed is comparatively high. According to recent reports, the resilient mounting system is applied to control the vibration of a engine running up to 300 - 400 R.P.M.. Furthermore, the resilient system is also used to the ships such as marine exploring ships, fishing boats, and military vessels. It is not desirous to apply the results for the resilient mounting systems of automobile engines to the controls of the vibrations of marine engines. Marine engines are worked under the idle speed in port and are operated up to the maximum contineous revolution at sea(running up condition). And marine engines are usually worked in inevitable conditions such as a misfire and a cut-off cylinder operating condition. Concerning the above running conditions, a resilient mounting system should be designed in the case of marine engines. In this paper, we studied the effect of engine's misfire on the resilient mounting systems. And the influences of design parameters, such as dynamic characteristics and fitting angles of resilient rubber mountings, were also investigated respectively on the single and double resilient mounting systems.

  • In this paper, a tuned liquid1) mass damper(TLMD) was proposed and experimentally investigated on its control performance, which can control bi-axial responses of building structures by using only one device. The proposed TLMD controls the structural response in a specific one direction by using a liquid sloshing of TLCD. Also, the TLMD reduces the response of structures in the other orthogonal direction by behaving as a TMD that uses mass of the container itself and liquid within container of TLCD installed on linear motion guides. Force-vibration tests on a real-sized structure installed with the TLMD were performed to verify its independent behavior in two orthogonal directions. Test results showed that the responses of a structure were considerably reduced by using the proposed TLMD and its usefulness for structural control in two orthogonal directions.

  • In this paper, a mathematical model for a belt driven system is proposed to analyse the vibration characteristics of the driving units with belts and the free and forced vibraiton anlyses are carried out. The mathematical model for a belt-driven system includes belts, pulleys, spindle and bearings. By using Hamilton's principle, four nonlinear governing equations and twelve nonlinear boundary conditions are derived. To linearize and discretize the nonlinear governing equations and boundary conditions, the perturbation method and Galerkin method are used. Also, the free vibration analyses for various parameters of a belt driven system, which are the tension of a belt, the length of a belt, the material properties of belts, the velocity of a velt and the mass of pulley are made. The forced vibration analyses of the system are performed and the dynamic responses for main parameters are anlysed with a belt driven system.

  • Researches on the FRF-based substructuring method have been mainly focused on vibratory response analysis. Present study is concerned about the application of the method to the dynamic stress analysis of a compressor mounting bracket in a passenger car. This is performed by using reaction forces that can be obtained by the FRF-based substructuring method. The air-conditioner system, composed of a compressor, a bracket and a test jig, is analyzed by using the FRF-based substructuring method. The experimental and numerical FRFs are combined to calculate the system responses and reaction forces at the connection point. The dynamic reaction forces plugged into the bracket FE model to compute the compute the stresses of the bracket. Dynamic stresses by the present method are compared with those from FE model. The comparison shows possibility of practical usage of the method for the real problem.

  • Many researchers have studied several vibration control devices such as TMD, TLD, and VED to reduce the acceleration level for tall buildings. Advantages of TLD (tuned liquid damper) include easy installation, low cost, and less maintenance. However, the dynamic characteristics of TLD must be verified by experiment and analysis due to the difficulties in evaluating the characteristics of water sloshing. In this study, free vibration and dynamic excitation experiments of structure with TLD were conducted to verify vibration control force of the proposed TLD for high-rise building. The parameters were mass ratio of water to structure, number of damping nets, and aspect ratio. From the test results, the responses of structure with water tank were observed to be smaller than those of structure alone. Furthermore, better damping effect could be achieved with larger mass ratio, more damping nets, and larger aspect ratio. However, in the case of water tank with no damping net, little damping effect was obtained.

  • Most of the medium-size ships are powered by large-bore, long-stroke, slow-speed and two-stroke diesel engines in order to improve the fuel efficiency. Such a propulsion plant develops low-frequency excitation forces/moments of significant magnitude. A RO/RO car/truck carrier is also one of the cases. In this paper, the rational methods for analysis of vertical and coupled horizontal-torsional vibrations are presented. Taking account of unusual characteristics of the hull form and structural systems, the emphasis is put on modelling methods based on beam analogy, calculation of system parameters such as added mass and its center, polar added-mass moment of inertia, shear coefficient of hull sections and coupling degree in antisymmetric modes, and modal analysis of forced vibrations.

  • 양단이 고정된 보가 변형할 때에는 중간 평면의 신장을 수반하게 된다. 운동 의 진폭이 증가함에 따라 이 신장이 보의 동적 응답에 미치는 영향은 심각 하게 된다. 이러한 현상은 응력과 변형도와의 관계가 선형적이라 하더라도 변형도와 변위와의 관계식은 비선형이 되며 결국은 보의 비선형 운동방정식 을 낳게된다. 보는 연속계이긴하지만 근사를 위하여 다자유도계로 간주할 수 있다. 비선형 다자유도계에 있어서는 선형화된 계의 고유진동수끼리 적절한 관계를 가질 때 내부공진이 발생할 수 있다. 양단이 고정된 곧은 보의 비선 형 동적응답이 그동안 많이 연구되어 오고 있으며, 집중질량을 가지고 직각 으로 굽은 보의 해석을 위하여 내부공진을 고려한 해석적 혹은 실험적 연구 가 이루어져 왔다. 그중에서도 Nayfeh등은 조화가진 하의 핀과 꺾쇠로 고정 된(hinged-clamped) 보의 정상상태응답을 해석하기 위해 두 모우드 사이의 내부공진을 고려하였다. 이 연구에서는 세 모우드 사이의 내부공진을 고려하 여 강제진행 중인 보의 비선형 해석을 다루고자 한다. 이 문제에 관심을 갖 게 된 동기는 "연속계의 비선형 해석에서 더 많은 모우드를 포함시키면 어 떤 결과를 낳게 될 것인가\ulcorner"라는 질문에서 생겨난 것이다. 갤러킨 법을 이용 하여 비선형 편미분 방정식과 경계 조건으로 표현되는 이 문제를 연립 비선 형 상미분 방정식으로 변환한다. 다중시간법(the method of multiple scales) 을 이용하여 이 상미분 방정식을 정상상태에서의 세 모우드의 진폭과 위상 에 대한 연립비선형 대수방정식으로 변환한다. 이 대수방정식을 수치적으로 풀어서 정상상태 응답을 구하고 Nayfeh등의 결과와 비교한다. 결과와 비교한다. studies, the origin of ${\alpha}$$_1$peak was attributed to the detrapping process form trap with 2.88[eV] deep of injected space charge from the chathode in the crystaline regions.   • For stealth performance consideration, many UAV designs are adopting tailless lambda-shaped configurations which are likely to have unsteady dynamic characteristics. In order to control such UAVs through automatic flight control system, more accurate estimation of dynamic stability derivatives becomes essential. In this paper, dynamic stability derivatives of a tailless lambda-shaped UAV are estimated through numerically simulated forced oscillation method incorporating dynamic mesh technique. First, the methodology is validated by benchmarking the CFD results against previously published experimental results of the Standard Dynamics Model(SDM). The dependency of initial angle of attack, oscillation frequency and oscillation magnitude on the dynamic stability derivatives of a tailless UAV configuration is then studied. The results show reasonable agreements with experimental reference data and prove the validity and efficiency of the concept of using CFD to estimate the dynamic derivatives.
