Written Voice in the Text: Investigating Rhetorical Patterns and Practices for English Letter Writing (텍스트 속 자신의 표현: 영어 편지글에 나타난 수사 형태와 작문 활동에 관한 탐색)

  • This study aims at exploring features of Korean university students' written text, focusing on the written voice, rhetorical patterns, and writing practices through English letters. The data comprised examples of students' English job applications, and a 'purpose-will' model was adopted for the data analysis. The findings showed that the students used unique ways of strategies to convey their voice in a recontextualized setting. Their written voice in the job applications were various, and nobody applied the Korean convention of weather opening. Their rhetorical patterns were a transformation from convergence to divergence, showing integrated patterns of written voice. Students' writing practices revealed their internal values of writing for a task, and they do not directly learn from the teacher's syllabus. This supports the sociocultural framework that learning is a situated activity in a specific discourse community. The study concludes that writing teachers should understand that life-world and learning experience can impact on students' written voice and practices.

  • Flora of the Dokdo Islet, where located south-east from Ulnung Island, off the east coast of the Korean peninsula, recorded as 59 taxa; 29 families, 50 genus, 48 species, 1 sub-species, 9 varieties and 1 form. Dong-do (East islet) of Dokdo Islet, naturalized plants such as Brassica campestris subsp. napus var. nipp-oleitera and Rumex crispus are widely ranged over the islet. The naturalizedplants affects the native species and their habitats of Artemisia japonica var. macrocephala, Echinochloa crus-galli, Sedum oryzifolium, Arabis stelleri var. japonica and Sedum kamtschaticum var takesimense in the islet. The trail in Seo-do (West islet) is heavily threatened by over-all weathering processes on the rock. The native woody species in the islet are Euonymous japonicus and Lonicera insularis, and the species such as Pinus thunbergii and Hibiscus syriacus are planted in the recent past under the IRP (Islet Restoration Program) by NGO. The Specific Plants, which is designated and categorized by the Ministry of Environment, Korea, such as Lilium lancifolium, Lysimachia mauritiana and Reynoutria sachalinensis are ranged. The ecosystem of Dokdo islet is seriously threatened by invadedplant species and building works for garrison and relevant facilities. The over-all long- and short-term strategies, based on interdisciplinary and integrated approaches for habitat restoration is needed.

  • 물 소비는 수자원 고갈을 야기하며, 수자원 고갈은 보건, 농업 생산력, 작물 생산력, 생태계에 악영향을 미친다. 따라서 물발자국 개념을 적용하고 이를 활용함으로써 일반생활에서 패러다임의 전환을 유도하는 것은 환경 및 물 문제를 저감하는 좋은 수단이 될 수 있다. 우리나라도 물발자국 개념 도입의 적극적인 검토가 필요하다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 스페인의 사례를 통하여 물발자국 도입 방안을 도출하고자 한다. 스페인은 2008년 9월 유럽연합에서 최초로 물발자국 평가를 정책으로 채택하였다. 스페인은 물 부족 국가로서 물발자국 연구를 수행해왔으며 강 유역 및 국가적 차원의 방법론을 연구하고 검증해왔다. 특히 도시와 산업 분야에서 물의 재사용을 증대시키기 위해 통합농업 및 생태농업을 장려하고 있다. 이와 관련하여 태양에너지, 관광, 전통 작물 재배 지역의 물발자국 계정의 비교우위를 통해 환경, 농업, 에너지, 무역 정책과 관련되는 물 정책의 조정 중에 있다. 또한 지나친 용수개발로 인한 생태적 위험에 대처하기 위해 강을 상류, 중류, 하류로 나누어 작물별 가상수량과 물 효율성을 분석하였다. 이에 따른 결과로 지역마다 적합한 수출입전략으로 물 효율성이 높은 작물을 주로 재배하는 상류지역은 농산물을 다른 지역으로부터 수입하는 동시에 채소류와 같은 물 효율성이 높은 농산물을 특화하여 수출할 필요성을 농가로 제시하고 있다. 이를 통하여 스페인은 지역의 환경 조건에 가장 적합한 제품의 생산을 촉진하고 본질적인 물 사용 패턴의 변화를 통하여 효율적인 물 분배 및 사용이 가능하게 됨으로서 관개용수 사용의 감소를 실현하였다. 본 연구를 통하여 스페인은 유역관리계획의 개발을 위한 기술적 표준으로서 다양한 사회경제 분야의 물발자국 분석을 포함하고 있음을 확인하였다. 이를 통하여 물발자국 정책의 활용방안을 파악하였고, 물발자국의 도입 방향성을 도출하였다. 환경 및 물 문제를 저감할 수 있는 물발자국 개념은 향후 우리나라의 수자원 관리에 있어 중요한 지표의 역할을 할 것으로 기대한다.

  • 국내에서는 향후 기후변화 등으로 인해 수자원 분야에 있어 많은 변화가 일어날 것이라 예측하고 있으며 특히 미래 물 공급에 많은 어려움이 예상됨에 따라 안정적인 물 공급을 위해서는 기후변화 적응 전략 수립이 필요한 실정이다. 현재 많은 수자원시설물이 건설되어 운영 중에 있음에도 불구하고 가뭄 등으로 인해 물 공급의 어려움을 겪는 지역이 발생하기도 하였다. 따라서 현재 물 공급 시스템의 공급능력 및 취약성에 대해 기후변화를 고려하여 평가할 필요가 있으며 분석결과를 활용하여 향후 안정적인 물 공급을 위한 대안을 마련하여야 한다. 최근 들어 기후변화가 국내 수자원에 미치는 영향을 평가하기 위해 많은 노력을 기울이고는 있으나 물 공급 관련 연구는 초기 단계에 머물고 있다. 이는 미래에 대한 예측의 불확실성이 크기 때문에 정량적인 결과를 도출하기가 어렵다. 따라서 미래에 발생할 수 있는 문제를 사전에 감지하고 이를 해소하기 위한 대책을 마련하기 위해서는 미래에 발생가능한 다양한 상황에 대한 분석을 수행할 필요가 있다. 본 연구에서는 미래 기후변화, 사회 경제조건 변화 등에 대해 현재의 기술로 예측할 수 있는 다양한 상황을 미래 시나리오 경로로 구성하고 각 경로별 물 수급 전망을 수행함으로써 미래 물 공급에 대한 기후변화 취약성을 평가하고자 하였다. 구성된 미래 시나리오 경로별 물 수급 전망분석 결과를 통해 4대 권역(한강, 낙동강, 금강, 섬진강 및 영산강)에 대한 물 공급 취약지역을 선정하였으며 미래 발생할 수 있는 물 부족 발생가능량을 분석하여 제시하였다. 분석을 통해 선정된 물 공급 취약지역에 대해서는 안정적인 물 공급을 위한 대책 마련이 절실할 것으로 판단되며 연구결과는 지역 수자원계획 수립에 다양한 정보를 제공할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

Effect of Emergency Nursing Class using Evidence-Based Practice (근거기반실무를 활용한 응급간호 수업 운영의 효과)

  • The purpose of this study was conducted to provide emergency nursing class using evidence-based practice (EBP) and to examine its effects. This study was a one-group pretest-posttest experimental design. Data were collected from 54 students in the third year of nursing at a university, between September 2, 2019 and December 9, 2019. An emergency nursing class using EBP consisting of 5-step EBP components was provided through 13 sessions. Lectures, team-based learning, and case-based learning were provided. Data were analyzed using SPSS/WIN 21.0 program with descriptive statistics and paired t-test. After the class, there were significant increase in EBP beliefs (t=-2.76, p=.008) and EBP competency (t=-5.035, p<.001). However, critical thinking disposition was not significantly increased. The findings indicate that emergency nursing classes using evidence-based practice is an efficient teaching-learning method to improve EBP beliefs and competency.

Factors Affecting the Learning Flow of Health Science Students Taking Online Classes due to COVID-19 (코로나 19 (COVID-19)로 인해 온라인 전공 수업을 경험한 보건계열 대학생의 학습몰입에 영향을 미치는 요인)

  • This study investigates the relationships among academic stress, learning satisfaction, and learning flow of the health science college students who take online classes in college. The subjects were 129 students and the data were collected from November 15th, 2020 to December 22th, 2020 using a self-report structured questionnaire. The data analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation analysis, and multiple regression. As a result of this study, academic stress showed a negative correlation between learning satisfaction (r=.-78, p<.001) and learning flow (r=.-70, p<.001). And learning satisfaction showed a positive correlation between learning flow (r=.71, p<.001). In the results of multiple regression analysis, factors influencing the learning flow of students were amount of assignments in online classes, number of online practice courses completed in the last semester, academic stress, and learning satisfaction. All of these variables together explained 59.0%. Therefore, in order to increase learning flow in online classes, strategies to reduce academic stress and development of various educational programs are required.

Development of PBL Application Class Module and Convergence Application Experience in one university Scenario-based Adult Nursing Simulation Training (일개 대학 시나리오 기반 성인간호학 시뮬레이션 실습 교육에서 PBL 적용 수업 모듈 개발 및 융합적 적용 경험)

  • This study aimed to improve the quality of classes through the application experience analysis after applying the adult nursing simulation practice modules with PBL. Quantitative and qualitative data such as from satisfaction, validity, self-reflection, and lecture evaluation in 68 nursing students were analyzed after the semester. Satisfaction was 4.64 points out of 5 points, and 'I want to recommend this class to other friends' was the highest. It was appropriate for the validity as 64.7% to 100% positve answer. From the qualitative data analysis of lecture evaluation, it was categorized into 5 thematic groups : 'increased immersion related to a lively class environment', 'growth of knowledge and skills through learners' active participation', 'improvement of mutual collaboration skills through team-based problem-solving process', 'Improvement of problem-solving ability through situational crisis coping process' and 'Improvement of individual comprehension through close teaching'. The continuous development of PBL learning strategies and development of various scenarios are required in the future.

The infestation states and changing patterns of human infecting metacercariae in freshwater fish in Kyongang-do and Kyonggi-do, Korea (식이성 윤충류질환의 관리전략수립을 위한 감염원의 역학 및 병원체의 생물학적 특성에 관한 조사연구 - 경상도내 3개 강 및 경기도내 4개 하천에서 채집한 민물어류의 인체기생 흡충류 피낭유충 감염상 및 변동)

  • The infestation rates and abundances of human infecting metacercariae (Clonorchis sinensis, Metcgonimus spry. , Centrocestus crmatus, Echinostoma hortense, Echinochusnus japonicw, Clinostomum complanctum) in freshwater fish were investigated at the three river areas - Taewhagang (river), Hyongsangang (river), Nakdonggang (river) - in Kyongsang-do and at four streams - Yonpungchon, Munsanchon, Kyonganchon, and Konjiamchon- in Kyonggi-do, Korea in 1994-1995. The fish caught at Taewhagang were heavily infested with metacercariae of Clonorchis sinensis and Centrocestw armctus. At Hyongsangang, Zncco platypus and Z. temmincki were moderately infested with metacercariae of C. crmctus. Chomanpo, at the basin of Nakdonggang, was still endemic for C. sinensis. In the fish caught at four streams of Kyonggi-do, metacercariae of C. sinensis exhibited the highest infestation rate and intensity out of 6 species of metacercariae. The infestation intensity of C. sinensis metacercariae in fish flesh was markedly different according to each division of flesh. The cause of this difference was conjectured as a result of larval behavior. The metacercariae of C. omnt5 were found in almost all parts, except scales and fins, of fish. The infestation rates and intensities of C. sinensis and C. armntus metacercariae in Taewhagang greatly increased as compared with those of previous reports . RhinoBobius bmnneus and Aconthorhone5 macropterus are newly recorded intermediate hosts of Echinostonn hortense. The reason of large differences from previous data was discussed and the standard method of metacercaria examination was proposed.

A Study on the Determinant Factors for Dining at Family Restaurant in Sunchon City (순천시의 훼밀리레스토랑을 이용하는 고객들의 외식결정요인에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study was to identify important selection attributes of customers for dining at family restaurants, and the determinant and predicting factors in customers' intentions of revisiting. A closed-ended questionnaire was used, and a systematic sampling approach was employed to survey a sample of customers in family restaurants. A total of 124 questionnaires were used for analysis among 300 distributed. Multivariate analysis(factor and regression analysis) was performed for 19 selection attributes measured on a five-point scale. A four-dimensional structure(harmonized decoration consistent service, valuable food, and attractive facility) was established from 19 selection attributes. The results of the study showed that three dimensions were significantly related with the customer's intention of revisiting. The dimension of consistent service had the greatest impact on customers' choice. It was clear that a family restaurant manager's emphasis on only one dimension to attract customers might not be as effective as applying a multi-dimensional strategy.

A Case Study on the Use of Mentoring as a Method of Improving Novice Teachers' Teaching Professionalism in Secondary Science-Gifted Education (중등 과학영재교육에서 초임 교사의 수업 전문성 제고 전략으로써의 멘토링 적용 사례연구)

  • As a case study on the use of mentoring as a method of improving novice teachers' teaching professionalism in secondary science-gifted education, this study investigated the characteristics of mentoring science instructions for science-gifted students at the plan, performance, evaluation, and post-mentoring stages of the classes. One mentor and two mentees were selected, and mentoring in each mentee's instructions was conducted during nine classes over three times. We observed the total classes, and analyzed taped videos, the materials, the transcripts for mentoring and in-depth interviews, and field notes. The analyses of the results indicated that the characteristics of mentoring instructions, at the planning stage of the classes, exhibited the construction of more systematic classes, the escape from the schema that science instructions for science-gifted students were instructions using somewhat difficult experiments and the uses of diverse teaching strategies, the influence of the psychological burdens on developing science-gifted education programs, and the increase of the time preparing the classes. At the performance stage of the classes, the characteristics included the improvement in the quality of the classes, the influence of the psychological burdens on teaching the classes, and the inducements of some confusion on performing them. At the evaluation stage of the classes, the characteristics included the provision of the opportunities in deeply reflecting my own classes, and the provision of the practical power for improving the classes. Finally, the characteristics at the postmentoring stage could be attributed to the increase of mentees' self-confidence about their instructions and some development of mentors' teaching professionalism/mentoring skills.
