Evaluation of Deterioration Propagation Life of Steel Bridge Paints According to Surface Treatment Methods and Heavy-Duty Painting Types (표면처리방법에 따른 강교용 일반중방식도장계의 열화진행수명 평가)

  • In this study, to evaluate deterioration propagation life and deterioration curve of the shop painted and field re-painted steel bridges, accelerated corrosion tests were carried out on 4 types of heavy-duty painting systems with different surface treatments. The surface treatments prior to painting were examined by hand tool(SSPC SP-2), power tool(SP-3,) or blast cleaning(SP-10) considering shop painting and field re-painting. The paint deterioration curves for each painting system and surface treatment were evaluated based on corrosion propagation from the initial paint defects. From the test results, the paint deterioration life of shop painted and field re-painted system was evaluated and compared by using corrosivity categories and durability performance evaluation of structural steel. The deterioration propagation life of shop and field paint was estimated in 18 to 21 years and 5.3 to 8.0 years with atmospheric corrosion category C4.

Magnesium Sulfate Resistance of Geopolymer Incorporating Evaporated Rice Husk Powder (증해추출 왕겨분말을 혼입한 지오폴리머의 황산마그네슘 저항성에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to evaluate the magnesium sulfate resistance of a geopolymer mixed with rice husk powder. General concrete, silica fume mixed concrete, and binary blended geopolymer were selected as comparison targets to confirm the magnesium sulfate resistance, and sulfate deterioration was calculated using the compressive strengths with ages. In addition, the weight change rate and the relative dynamic coefficient of the geopolymer were comparatively analyzed, and the degree of etteringite formation was confirmed using X-ray diffraction analysis. the experiment, the geopolymer mixed with 10% rice husk powder showed 10.8% higher compressive strength than concrete with silica fume when submerged for 56 days. Also, the geopolymer mixed with rice husk powder showed a small weight change rate of 0.9 to 1.45%. composition after immersion in magnesium sulfate through X-ray diffraction analysis, it was observed that a small amount of ettringite was dispersed in the geopolymer containing rice husk powder. Thus, there is a high correlation with the corrosion resistance of magnesium sulfate

Correlation Analysis of Cutter Acting Force and Temperature During the Linear Cutting Test Accompanied by Infrared Thermography (선형절삭시험과 적외선 열화상 측정을 통한 픽커터 작용력과 발생 온도의 상관관계 분석)

  • In this study, the linear cutting tests of pick cutters were carried out on a granitic rock with the average compressive strength over 100 MPa. From the tests, the correlation between the cutter acting force and the temperature measured by infrared thermal imaging camera during rock cutting was analyzed. In every experimental condition, the maximum temperature was measured at the rock surface where the chipping occurred, and the temperature generated in the rock was closely correlated with the cutter acting force. On the other hand, the temperature of a pick cutter increased up to only 36℃ above the ambient temperature, and the correlation with the cutter force was not obvious. This can be attributed to the short cutting distance under laboratory conditions and the high thermal conductivity of the tungsten carbide inserts. However, the relatively high temperature of the tungsten carbide inserts was found to be maintained. Therefore, it is recommended that a reinforcement between the insert and the head of a pick cutter or the quality improvement of silvering brazing in the production of a cutter is necessary to maintain the high cutting performance of a pick cutter.

The Study of Mechanical Properties of Degraded Compacted Graphite Iron(CGI) Under 873~1273 K (873~1273 K에서 열화된 강화흑연강의 기계적 특성 연구)

  • Compacted graphite iron(CGI), also known as vermicular graphite iron, is a metal which is gaining popularity in applications that require either greater strength, or lower weight than cast iron. Recently compacted graphite iron has been used for diesel engine blocks. Considering that using in exhaust manifold of the diesel engine, CGI340 was conducted the heat treatment during 1 hour to 96 hours from 873 to 1273 K. Mechanical characteristics were evaluated. The obtained results are as follows; The tensile strength of the heat treated specimens showed overall lower tensile strength than that of the base metal. Tensile strength decreases with increasing of heat treatment time, and the higher heat treatment temperature and the longer time, were more reduced. The fatigue limit by the ultrasonic fatigue test was approximately 130 MPa of base metal, 100 MPa of 1173 K (96 hrs) specimen, respectively. The hardness decreases with increasing heat treatment time, and the higher the heat treatment temperature was lowered hardness distribution. In CGI340, average hardness of nodular graphite was 120 Hv, average hardness of vermicular graphite was 114 Hv. This showed lower hardness than the base structure ferrite. The nodular graphite and vermicular graphite according to the heat treatment temperature and time didn't have a consistent change. However, the grain size of base structure grew with increasing of heat treatment time.

  • In this paper, we propose the synchronization recovery algorithm which is suitable to wireless Multimedia of wireless channel situation which is being used OFDM signaling method. The basic of the suggested clock synchronization. restoration Algorithm is to getting the shock response of channel or getting the multipath strength profile through IFTT after the getting the frequency, response of deducted channel from channel deducted of receiver and to trace the location in the channel energy concentrated area of timing area. And it also analysis the start point of 64-QAM and 16-QAM if the sampling clock offset has the sample of ${\pm}$ 1-3, and we identified the occurance of performance deterioration when occures more than 2 samples of offset to compare with star point and BER performance in optimum sampling point result of BER performance checking, and we know that the recovery algorithm proposed algorithm also provide excellent synchronization characteries under frequency, selecting fading channel as result of simulation.

그래핀 투명전극의 벤딩에 대한 복원력 연구

  • 플렉서블 디스플레이에 사용되는 투명전극은 벤딩에 의한 인장(tensile) 및 압축(compressive) 스트레스 하에서도 전극의 특성이 지속적으로 유지되어야 한다. 기존 OLED소자의 투명전극으로 사용되던 인듐산화물(ITO, Indium Tin Oxide)는 인듐(Indium)의 희소성 문제뿐만 아니라 벤딩에 대한 복원력이 나쁜 것으로 알려져 플렉서블 디스플레이에는 적합하지 않은 것으로 알려져 있다. 벤딩에 강하고 복원력이 우수한 투명전극 재료가 필요하게 되었다. 본 연구에서는 PEN (Polyethylene Naphthalate) 유연기판 상에 그래핀(Graphene)전극을 구현하여 벤딩에 대한 저항특성을 관찰하였고 일반적으로 많이 사용하는 Aluminum 전극과의 비교를 통해 광효율을 지속적으로 유지할 수 있는 플렉서블 OLED용 전극구현 가능성을 연구하였다. 일반적으로 Al금속은 인장 스트레스를 받음에 따라 저항이 증가하고 다시 복원되면 저항이 감소하는 특성을 갖고 있는데 인장 스트레스에 따라 저항과 늘어난 길이와의 관계는 다음과 같다. $R/R0=(L/L0)^2$ ----------------------------------------- (1) 그러나 반복된 스트레스가 가해질 경우 Al 금속 전극은 복원력을 잃고 저항이 원래대로 돌아가지 않는 문제가 발생하는데 반해 그래핀은 벌집모양의 구조를 갖고 있어 벤딩에 대한 강도가 셀 뿐만 아니라 고탄력으로 인해 복원력이 우수하여 여러 싸이클(cycle)의 벤딩 실험에 의해서도 복원력이 지속적으로 유지되었다. Al 금속 전극의 경우 벤딩 각도 또는 정도에 따라 복원력이 유지되는 구간이 있으나 반복적인 벤딩 싸이클에 의해 복원력이 감소하여 인장 스트레스에 의한 저항 증가 후 스트레스 제거 시 저항 감소가 되지 않는데 24시간 동안 전기 저항 변화를 관찰하면 수시간 후에나 저항이 어느 수준까지만 복원되는 것을 확인할 수 있었으나 복원에 오랜 시간이 소요된다는 점에서 그래핀과 비교가 된다. SEM(Scanning electron microscopy) 분석을 통해 인장 스트레스 인가/제거를 반복함에 따라 Al 금속표면이 표면에 열화되는 것을 확인하였으나 그래핀에서는 나타나지 않았다. 본 연구에서는 높은 투과도와 우수한 전기적 특성을 가지는 그래핀 투명 전도성 전극이 다양한벤딩 조건에서도 뛰어난 복원 특성을 보이는 것을 밝혀내어 차세대 투명 전극 물질로 개발하고자 하였다.

  • In seawater deposition condition, the corrosion and chemical attack of grouts are similar to those of concrete structure. Used in domestic MSG (Micro Silica Grouting) mixtured large amounts of silicate materials containing as cement powder is $8,000cm^2/g$ of the specific surface area or more due to the high hydration activity and high-strength, high durability, and features, $C_3A$ content of less than 5% to meet the standards chemical attack of seawater was evaluated as a cement material. Therefore, in this paper, with excellent seawater attack resistant MSG in combination with rapid hardening mineral was used, those of seawater characteristics were evaluated experimentally. Typically, sodium-silicate minerals or rapid hardening cements are used in domestic. About the homogel specimens with combination of MSG and rapid hardening agents for compressive strength, weight and length change characteristics were evaluated experimentally, and so we could present the excellent seawater resistant grouts combination.

Wavelet Analysis of Elastic Wave for Wall Thinned High-Pressure Service Pipes (감육을 가지는 고압배관에 대한 탄성파의 Wavelet해석)

  • We studied on the nondestructive evaluation of the elastic wave signals of locally wall thinned straight pipe. Wavelet transform was applied for the time-frequency analysis of waveforms obtained by fracture wave detector due to the dropping steel ball. The time-frequency analysis provides time variation of each frequency component involved in a waveform, which makes it possible to evaluate the shape of local wall thinning at each frequency. In this study, comparison by wavelet transform of the AE signals and monotonic bending tests without internal pressure are conducted on 1.91 inch diameter full-scale carbon steel pipe specimens. As the results of tests, fracture behaviors could be shown by the characteristic of mechanical strength of locally wall thinned pipes and the waveforms could be evaluated for the integrity insurance of the piping system according to the length and depth range of the deffeted shape pipes in the real field.

Damage Estimation of Steel Bridge Members by Fatigue Vulnerability Curves Considering Deterioration due to Corrosion with Time (시간에 따른 부식열화가 고려된 피로취약도 곡선을 이용한 강교의 손상 평가)

  • A method for assessing fatigue vulnerability of steel bridge members considering corrosion and truck traffic variation with time is proposed to evaluate the reduction of fatigue strength in steel bridge members. A fatigue limit state function including corrosion and traffic variation effect is established. The interaction between the average corrosion depth and the fatigue strength reduction factor is applied to the limit state function as the reduction term of strength. Three types of truck traffic change is modeled for representing real traffic change trend. Monte-Carlo simulation method is used for reliability analysis which provides the data to obtain fatigue vulnerability curves. The estimation method proposed was verified by comparing with the results of reference study and applying to the steel bridges in service.
