Mediating Role of Consumer's Affective Respones and Store Image in Relationships between Perceived Store' Characteristics and Loyalty (지각된 점포특성과 충성도관계에서 소비자의 감정적 반응 및 점포이미지의 매개적 역할)

  • This study confirmed structural causal relations among concepts such as characteristics of store, store image, affective satisfaction, affective commitment, and loyalty and surveyed mediating roles of affective commitment in grocery retailing. Analysis of structural equation modeling with SPSS18.0 and AMOS18.0 were performed to test the research hypothesis. The results are as follows. First, Perceived quality, product assortment and product price influenced satisfaction. Second, Store image influenced affective satisfaction, affective commitment and loyalty. Affective satisfaction influenced affective commitment but not loyalty directly. Third, affective commitment influenced loyalty through the powerful mediating role. The store characteristics was seen to have a positive impact on affective satisfaction through store image, and in turn related to affective commitment, ultimately leading to loyalty. Especially, It is meaningful result in this study which is confirmed affective commitment have a strong mediating role in between store image, affective satisfaction and loyalty. Finally, we discussed the role of affective commitment and the strategies of affective commitment development, and suggested future studies.

The Mediating Role of Affective Commitment in Explaining Relationship between Characteristics of Service-offer and Loyalty: Focused on Department Stores (서비스전달 특성과 충성도 관계에서 감정적 몰입의 매개역할: 백화점 중심으로)

  • This study confirmed structural causal relations among concepts such as characteristics of service-offer, satisfaction, trust, affective commitment, and loyalty and surveyed mediating roles of affective commitment. The results are as follows. First, Customized service and service reliability influenced satisfaction while service competency did not. Service reliability affected trust while customized service and service competency did not. Second, satisfaction influenced trust and affective commitment but not loyalty while trust affected affective commitment and loyalty. Third, affective commitment influenced loyalty through the mediating role. The results mean that the seller-buyer relationship is a dynamic relationship. Finally, we discussed the role of affective commitment and the strategies of affective commitment development, and suggested future studies.

The Role of Cognitive, Affective, Conative, and Behavioral Loyalty in a Convergence Mobile Messenger Service (융복합 모바일 메신저 서비스에서 인지적, 감정적, 능동적, 행동적 충성도의 역할)

  • The fierce competition of mobile messenger services (MMS) allows MMS providers to perform a variety of marketing campaigns and business activities to enhance user loyalty. The applied model in this study is based on Oliver's four-stage loyalty model for the formation processes of user loyalty about MMS. While social network formation and service quality are the key elements of cognitive loyalty, positive mood and negative mood are the key components of affective loyalty in the study. Conative loyalty is captured by commitment. The data of 249 KakaoTalk users at least five times for three months is empirically tested based on the research model using partial least squares. The analysis of test identifies that positive feeling and commitment significantly influences behavioral loyalty, whereas negative feeling plays a significant role in inhibiting behavioral loyalty. The findings of this study show that social network formation and service quality significantly affect only positive feeling. The analysis results reveal several insights that can help MMS managers understand the roles of cognitive, affective, conative, and behavioral loyalty in the MMS environment.

Causal Role of Affective Commitment and Calculative Commitment in Explaining Relationships Between Service Characteristics and Trust and Services Loyalty in Dental Service Setting (치과 서비스특성과 신뢰 및 고객충성도 관계에서 감정적 몰입과 계산적 몰입의 인과적 역할)

  • The purpose of this study is to identifies services characteristics such as service customization, service ability, service empathy impacts on trust, affective commitment and calculative commitment, and explains causal role of affective commitment and calculative commitment by verifies relationships between trust and affective commitment and calculative commitment and customer loyalty in dental service setting. Analysis of structural equation modeling with SPSS 20.0 and AMOS 16.0 were performed to test the research hypothesis. The result of the study as follows: First, it was found that service customization had effect on affective commitment, and service ability had influence on trust, and service empathy impacts on both trust and affective commitment, but calculative commitment was not found to significant path coefficients in relationships with service characteristics. Second, trust had effects on calculative commitment, but not affective commitment. Third, affective commitment and calculative commitment positively had influence on customer loyalty. Therefore, Dental service providers should be increase user confidence by showing empathy and the ability to service. Customer who had formed trust is to build customer loyalty by inducing loyalty directly or by presents a variety of benefits indirectly. The high emotional attachment customer will have to present a suitable marketing strategies to build strong customer loyalty.

  • This study tests a model that physical environment for shopping experience consist of the emotional responses of consumers and the effect of it's behavioral reactions. Specifically, this study have discussed how to perceive the attractive environment for customers, how to induce positive feelings or negative, how to form a switching barriers, how to lead loyalty. This findings can be summarized as follows. The results show that the models fit the data well and that nearly all of the hypothesized relationship construct are supported. First, attractive physical environment of the store had an significant effect on positive emotions to customers. Second, positive emotions that customers response about physical environment of store have an significant effect on switching barriers and loyalty. Third, the switching barriers formed in the consumer's mind to store have a significant effect a positive loyalty. The results present that attractive physical environment of stores have been thought to be key to switching barriers and customer loyalty.

Effects of Emotion on User Loyalty in a Mobile Messenger Service (모바일 메신저 서비스 충성도 형성에 있어 감정이 미치는 영향)

  • Given rapid growth of mobile messenger services (MMSs) such as KakaoTalk, Line, and Wechat, it has become critical to understand the mechanisms that lead to user loyalty in the MMS context. In this regard, this study examined key factors of user loyalty in the MMS environment. We posit attitudinal loyalty and IT expertise as key drivers of behavioral loyalty. In addition, the impacts of perceived usefulness and emotion on attitudinal loyalty were examined. Data collected from 235 KakaoTalk users who have used more than 1 year were empirically tested against a research model using partial least squares. The analysis results found that both attitudinal loyalty and IT expertise play an important role in enhancing behavioral loyalty in the MMS context. The findings of this study indicate that perceived usefulness and positive emotion significantly influence attitudinal loyalty, whereas negative emotion negatively affects it. The analysis results provide several insights that can help MMS providers understand the role of emotion in enhancing user loyalty.

  • This paper is to identify how merchandise quality, store environment, personnel service, sales promotion, store amenities and supporting service which is considered to store image components influence on satisfaction and loyalty and examine the role of satisfaction in explaining relationships between store image and loyalty. The results of the study are as follows: (1) each components of store image influence on cognitive satisfaction or emotionally based satisfaction or loyalty. (2) merchandise quality and store amenities have influence on cognitive satisfaction and emotionally based satisfaction is affected by personnel service and supporting service, but store environment has directly influence on loyalty. (3) store image components that is concerned with service in the store e.g. personnel service, supporting service build customer loyalty by mediating emotionally based satisfaction. In order to build strong customer loyalty, marketer have to formed through store image components that is much stronger on loyalty.

  • This study analyzed differences in the effects of communication with salesperson's on customer's emotional responses and store loyalty at customer contact focusing on the moderating effects of salesperson's attribute. This study recognized the need for expanding the results of the prior researches to widen the understanding of communication, emotional responses, and store loyalty. This study tried to, first, examine the effects of communication between customers and salespersons on emotional responses and store loyalty at customer contact; second, determine the effects of reliability and attractiveness, which are attributes of salespersons, as moderating variables; third, examine relative influences of verbal and nonverbal communication on emotional responses and store loyalty. The results mainly showed, first, that communication significantly affected emotional responses and also had significant effects on arousal as well as positive and negative emotion, contrary to prior researches; second, that emotional responses significantly affected store loyalty; third, there was no difference in influences on emotional responses between verbal and nonverbal communication; fourth, the effects of communication on emotional responses depended on attributes of salespersons, demonstrating interactive effects between communication and attributes of salespersons. This study intended to provide theoretical expansion over relations between variables including the dimension of communication beyond empirical reconfirmation of prior researches. In addition, a strategic scheme was presented to manage positive relations with customers at customer contact.

  • 브랜드 이미지가 마케팅에 미치는 영향이 커지면서 기업은 브랜드 가치 형성을 위해 온/오프라인 PR활동과 함께 브랜드 웹사이트를 적극적으로 활용하고 있다. 또한 학계와 관련 업계에서는 소비자들의 웹사이트의 이용 경험이 브랜드이미지 형성에 미치는 영향에 대하여 많은 연구를 진행해 왔다. 그러나 이와 반대로 웹사이트의 평가에 있어서 선 경험된 브랜드 이미지가 사이트의 평가에 영향을 미칠 수 있음에 대해서는 거의 연구되지 않았다. 본 연구에서는 브랜드 인지도와 브랜드 이미지를 통해 형성되는 브랜드 충성도-특히, 감정적 브랜드 충성도(Affective brand loyalty)-가 웹사이트의 사용자 경험에 있어서 디자인과 인터랙션디자인에 대한 감정적 평가에 미치는 영향에 대해 조사하였다. 이를 위하여 중국의 대학생, 대학원생 70인을 대상으로 중국에서 판매되고 있는 자동차 브랜드 8개를 선정하여 브랜드 충성도와 웹사이트의 사용자경험 평가에 대한 상관관계를 조사하였다.

The Effects of Nonverbal Communication of Fast Food Restaurant Servers on Customer Loyalty - Focusing on Customer Emotion and Self-Identification - (패스트푸드업체 서비스종사원의 비언어적 커뮤니케이션이 고객충성도에 미치는 영향 - 고객감정과 자아동일시를 중심으로 -)

  • This study intended to verify the impact of non-verbal communication of servers in the service industry on the affective path among customer's positive emotion, self-identification, and loyalty(behavioral and attitudinal loyalty). The data of 397 customers of typical fast food restaurants in Busan and Gyeongsangbuk-do area were analyzed with SPSS and AMOS, and the hypotheses were verified through structural equation model after frequency analysis, as well as exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis. According to the empirical analysis, all three components of server non-verbal communication in the service industry, body language, pseudo language, and body appearance, in respective order, had positive (+) influences on the positive emotion of customers. In addition, customer emotion had a positive (+) influence on brand self-identification. Finally, self-identification had a positive (+) influence on behavior loyalty and attitudinal loyalty. This study suggested practical implications and logical implications in the course of developing emotional loyalty for restaurant companies.
