A Study for Alexithymia in the Patients with Panic Disorder (공황장애환자에서 감정표현불능증에 대한 연구)

  • Objectives: This study was designed to evaluate difference of the alexithymia between panic patients and normal controls by examination of the relationships between different components of the alexithymia construct and level of anxiety and depression in panic patients and normal controls. Methods The subjects were 167 patients who met DSM-IV criteria for panic disorder and 110 normal controls. They drew up symptom checklists and self-rating scales, and were measured by Anxiety Disorders Interview Schedule-Panic attack & Agoraphobia(ADIS-P & A), Korean version of Toronto Alexithymia Scale (TAS-20K), Spielberger State-Trait Anxiety Inventory-State & Trait (STAI-S & T), Beck Depression Inventory (BDI), and Revised Anxiety Sensitivity Index (ASI-R). For statistical analysis, we performed t-test to compare the sociodemographic characteristics and the scores of self reported scales between panic patients and normal controls. Pearson correlation was performed between TAS-20K and it's subfactors, STAI-S & T, ASI-R and BDI in panic patients and normal controls. And stepwise multiple regression analysis was preformed to explain results of correlation analysis for alexithymia. Results: The panic patients reported more significant alexithymic (p<0.001), more difficulty identifying feeling (p<0.001) and describing feeling (p=0.001) than normal controls. Futhermore, panic patients were more significant anxious, sensitive to anxious feeling and depressive than normal controls. Moreover, the alexithymia of panic patients was explained by trait-anxiety $({\Delta}R^2=0.255)$ and anxiety sensitivity $({\Delta}R^2=0.062)$, that of normal controls was predicted by depression $({\Delta}R^2=0.144)$ and anxiety sensitivity $({\Delta}R^2=0.033)$ Conclusion: The panic patients reported more anxious and sensitive to anxious feeling, and these symptoms predict alexithymia in panic patients. However, the alexithymia of normal controls was explained by depression more than anxiety sensitivity, and such a result isn't consistent with previous studies and this may be mainly due to difference of the homogeneity in object of the studies.

The moderating effect of 'Jung' in service recovery process (서비스 실패 후 회복과정에서 정(情)의 조절 역할)

  • This research tries to present the role of Jung, which is well known as Koreans' traditional emotional attachment in service recovery process. Prior research on the service recovery have focused on relationship among perceived justice, recovery satisfaction and forgiveness. Especially perceived justice including distributive, procedural, and interactional justice has addressed as most important antecedents of recovery satisfaction. Although the pivotal role of emotional factors for successful service recovery has agreed by many researchers, relatively little attention has been paid to this issue. During the service recovery process, even if customer perceived recovery effort from service provider as justice one, they might feel displeasure or dissatisfaction. It means prior researches have underestimated the importance of emotional aspect, especially for Korean perspectives. In this study, we examined customer reactions to service failure and recovery process in restaurant service settings. Specifically, we focused on the moderating effect of 'Jung' on the paths between perceived justice and outcome variables such as forgiveness and recovery satisfaction.

Smart Emotion Management System based on multi-biosignal Analysis using Artificial Intelligence (인공지능을 활용한 다중 생체신호 분석 기반 스마트 감정 관리 시스템)

  • In the modern society, psychological diseases and impulsive crimes due to stress are occurring. In order to reduce the stress, the existing treatment methods consisted of continuous visit counseling to determine the psychological state and prescribe medication or psychotherapy. Although this face-to-face counseling method is effective, it takes much time to determine the state of the patient, and there is a problem of treatment efficiency that is difficult to be continuously managed depending on the individual situation. In this paper, we propose an artificial intelligence emotion management system that emotions of user monitor in real time and induced to a table state. The system measures multiple bio-signals based on the PPG and the GSR sensors, preprocesses the data into appropriate data types, and classifies four typical emotional states such as pleasure, relax, sadness, and horror through the SVM algorithm. We verify that the emotion of the user is guided to a stable state by providing a real-time emotion management service when the classification result is judged to be a negative state such as sadness or fear through experiments.

Human-Friendly Intelligent Hue Control System for Display Unit (디스플레이 장치의 인간 친화적인 지능형 색체 조절 시스템)

  • Human's sight holds the most extents for recognizing information among other senses. If we make much better visualized environment for human, it will become more beneficial in person's emotion or body. Human is using a lot of display units in modern society. Basic hues ate Red, Green and Blue. Using these three colors, we can change hue sense and degree of brightness of display unit. If we control hue of unit to be suitable according to individual environment, we can feel comfortable or reduce stress. In this paper, we present Human-Friendly Intelligent Hue Control System(HFIHCS) that control hue of display unit using fuzzified factors related to human's emotion and environment. The effectiveness of the proposed system is demonstrated by questionnaire.

A Study on the Professional Image of Librarianship (사서직의 직업 이미지에 관한 연구)

  • This study is an attempt to explore the professional image of librarianship through librarians' subjectivity using Q-methodology based on intraindividual difference in significance. The study identified four types of the professional image of librarianship and discussed their relationship; the ambivalent, the prideful, the advanced, and the critical. Each types are unique, not inter-exclusive characteristics reflected the context of the present. Also, all types have a positive image toward the librarianship.

  • Organizational factors and personal traits are two elements of widely acknowledged relevance in employees' organizational outcomes in hotel industry. Personal traits especially need to be further examined as a consideration for employment. As one of the personal traits that provide capability to manage emotions, emotional intelligence is selected. The empirical objective of this study is to investigate the effects of emotional intelligence on job satisfaction and organizational commitment in a structural model. To conduct research questions, five star deluxe hotel employees in Korea are targeted to be surveyed. Descriptive statistics and multivariate analysis of variance, and structural equation modeling(SEM) are utilized employing SPSS and AMOS 4.0 to analyze the survey results. It was found that the components of perceiving emotions and understanding emotions predicted job satisfaction. Relatively perceiving emotions presented a higher impact on each dimension of job satisfaction. Satisfaction with co-workers and communication can also explain the level of hotel employees' organizational commitment. Broadly speaking, the results suggest that effective psychotherapeutic or reciprocative programs should be integrated into hotel training contents for emotional intelligence development.

A Study of Dewatering Model of Potato Slice when Soaked in Concentrated Solution (고농도 용액의 침지시 감자 절편의 탈수모델에 관한 연구)

  • 감자절편을 고농도용액에 침지하여 탈수시킨 결과 침지용액을 구성하는 용질의 분자량에 따라 탈수형태가 다르게 나타났다. 저분자 용액인 NaCl, PEG 400 용액에 침지한 경우 조직의 뒤틀림현상(cytorrhysis) 은 나타나지 않고 부피의 감소와 수분의 탈수현상이 나타난 반면 고분자 용액인 PEG 4000, PEG 6000용액에 침지한 경우 cytorrhysis 현상을 동반한 부피의 감소와 탈수현상이 나타났다. 초기 탈수속도는 저분자 용액에 침지시 더 빨랐으나 최종 탈수량은 고분자 용액에 침지시 더 컸다 고장성 용액에 감자절편을 침지시켜 탈수되는 기작이 두가지 압력(삼투압 분자압착력)에 의해 진행된다고 가정하고 모델을 제안하여 감정한 결과 제안된 모델은 고분자 용액에 침지시의 탈수현항을 설명하는데 적합하였다. 모델에서 구해진 압력인자(ΔP)와 농도인자(a)는 온도(T)와 농도(C) 의 함수로 표현되며 계수의 탄력성 검정결과 농도에 대한 의존성이 더 큰 것으로 나타났다.

A Study on the Spatiotemporal Interpretation of Derek Jarman's Garden (데릭 저먼의 정원에 대한 시공간적(時空間的) 해석)

  • This study looks at spatiotemporal theories regarding the pluralism of time inherent in garden space, and attempts to establish spatiotemporal theories suitable for garden spaces. Based on the established theories, this study analyzes the intimacy of garden spaces by focusing on the objective and subjective time of garden spaces in Derek Jarman's garden through a literature review. The sense of time inherent to a garden space was divided into objective and subjective time. The former refers to ecological time that is quantified and has durability, while the latter indicates time that changes according to the consciousness of the human subject. It also includes time that is emotionalized by the sense of the human subject. This study first interpreted Jarman's garden space from the perspective of objective time. The garden transforms itself into a sensitive space according to Jarman's personal emotions in the current space within objective time, showing the multilayered attributes of space. Therefore, a garden space that exists in objective time is ultimately not objective, and is transformed according to the active reception of the human subject. Next, this study examined Jarman's garden space from the perspective of subjective time. The garden space lost in Jarman's memories and the one in his future illusion turn into a space that connotes abundant meaning according to Jarman's imagination or perception. Therefore, in subjective time, garden space is transformed according to Jarman's consciousness. This study verified that garden space, regardless of whether time is objective or subjective, can create infinite space according to the consciousness or emotions of the human subject beyond the existence of physical space. Since garden space has a unique intimacy unlike urban space, this study presented the uniqueness of garden space with an approach that differs from previous studies on gardens.

The Effect of Person-Job Fit on Job Satisfaction for the Employees of the Service Sector: Focused on the Mediating Effects of Perceived Organizational Support (서비스직 근로자의 개인-직무 적합성과 직무만족 관계에서 조직후원인식의 매개효과 분석)

  • This study examined the mediating effects of perceived organizational support (POS) on the relationship between the person-job fit and job satisfaction of service workers. POS is divided into socioemotional POS and instrumental POS. To achieve the research purpose, a questionnaire survey was conducted on workers in charge of service jobs in domestic companies through an on-line survey system and finally, the results of 281 respondents were analyzed to verify the hypothesized research model with an 80.3% effective recovery rate. The findings are as follows. First, the person-job fit has positive effects on job satisfaction and POS. Second, among the sub-constructs of POS, socioemotional support has mediating effects, but instrumental support has no mediating effects on the relationship between person-job fit and job satisfaction. Based on the results of this study, this study suggests theoretical and practical implications for the human resource development and management of service workers. Overall, changes in the recruitment system, which can judge the person-job fit of employees who perform emotional labor facing customers, organizational culture and personnel system for establishing socioemotional support system, and compensation and workforce development system, are needed to enhance the job satisfaction of service workers.

The Influence of Social Media's Environmental Characteristics on Users' Active Participation and the Types of Message Diffusion: Government's Communication Messages and Public Responses during the MERS Outbreak (소셜 미디어의 매체 환경적 특성이 이용자의 능동적 참여 및 메시지 확산 유형에 미치는 영향 : 메르스 사태에 대한 정부 대응 및 국민들의 반응을 중심으로)

  • This paper analyzed the influence of government-owned social media's environmental characteristics on the level of users' active participation and types of message diffusion during government's crisis. The social media environment was categorized based on human interactivity and media interactivity. Users' active participation was measured based on amount of like/dislike and number of comments. User's comments were categorized through network analysis. This study found that the level of user's active participation was high on the information-provider participation type and the relationship-oriented participation type. The level of user's active participation was low on the information-provider type and the limited platform. The analysis of message diffusion type showed that a restrictive rational opinion type was found for the limited platform and diffusive or restrictive emotional opinion types were found for other types of social media environment. This study found that during MERS crisis, the government did not provide messages suitable for the social media environment, and the media environment influenced users' participation and comments. The government should provide user friendly social media environment by increasing interaction with users and should make efforts to communicate with users in crisis situation.
