  • The purpose of this study is to examine the moderating effect of conflict in the relationship between neuroticism and abusive supervision. In previous studies, neuroticism was considered to be an important predictor of abusive supervision. According to the research results, supervisors with high neuroticism are more likely to be abusive supervision. However, in some studies, there was no significant relationship between neuroticism and abusive supervision. Therefore, this study considered conflict as a environmental factor in the relationship between neuroticism and abusive supervision based on the Trait Activation Theory. The higher the level of conflict, the more likely it would be that there would be a positive relationship between neuroticism and abusive supervision, and a lower level of conflict would not have a significant relationship between neuroticism and abusive supervision. Therefore, this study hypothesized the moderating effects of conflict in the relationship between neuroticism and abusive supervision. In order to test this hypothesis, this study conducted a questionnaire survey on the employees who work in South Korea. The implications and limitations of the study and the direction of future research are presented in the conclusion.

It proved that the relation between burnout due to work-family conflict and the organizational citizenship behavior through proactive personality of members concerning the negative effect of burnout caused by the work-family conflict at the workplace can be reduced by the proactive personality. It is significant in that this study proved the necessity of proactive personality of members in the work-family conflict. Therefore, more diverse personal characteristics should be considered as control variables in the future.

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between peer rejection and victimization among schoolchildren and to test whether conflict norms in the classroom moderated this relationship. The analysis used the third year data derived from ClassNet research (Park, et al., 2017) supported by the National Research Foundation of Korea. The sample comprised fourth-grade through sixth-grade students in 52 classrooms of 7 elementary schools in South Korea (N = 1194). A series of multi-level analyses were performed to fulfill the study's purpose using variables obtained by peer nomination, such as social rejection, victimization, bullying perpetration, and teacher-student conflict. The results found that boys experienced more victimization than girls and peer rejection significantly increased victimization. Furthermore, conflict norms in the classroom moderated the relationship between peer rejection and victimization. Peer rejection significantly increased the extent of victimization in classrooms with relatively high levels of conflict norms. The study concludes with a discussion on the significance of conflict norms and the educational implications of the results with a focus on ways that teachers can facilitate healthier classroom environments.

  • This study explored the influence of conflict management styles (i.e., Integrating, Considering, Compromising, Dominating, Avoiding) adopted by early childhood teachers to deal with conflict that may arise with parents on parents' behavioral intentions (i.e., re-registration intentions, oral transmission intentions) with the mediating role of parents' trust in teacher on the relationship between conflict management styles and parents' behavioral intentions. The data were collected from 356 parents in southern Gyung-gi-do and data analysis was done through structural equation modeling using AMOS 26.0. The study results show that the Integrating style of teachers was positively related to the parents' intention of re-registration. Trust in teacher was found to have an mediation effect on the Integrating, the Avoiding and the Compromising styles and re-registration intentions and oral transmission intentions of parents respectively. The results imply the importance of conflict management styles and building trust for enhancing the parents' behavioral intentions.
