  • This study aims to examine the influence of the philanthropic experience on the giving intention. There are many precedent studies arguing this influence but the empirical results are mixed or sometimes contradictory. We stipulate that this could be resolved by introducing the mediating variables such as trust and positive attitudes towards NGOs. Results of the empirical analysis based on the 189 person living in Seoul area show that philanthropic experience directly influence the giving intention, and it exert an influence on the giving intention directly through the trust and positive attitudes towards NGOs. And it is shown that the indirect effect produced by the mediating variables and process in less than the direct effect. Results support precedent studies emphasizing the important role of the philanthropic experience in the giving intention, and shed light on the process through which philanthropic experience determines the giving intention. A practical implication might be that we have to do a great effort to experience philanthropic activities in one's early age, and a theoretical implication be that researchers need to pay attention to find another mediating variables having explanatory power.

  • Introducing the Coarsened Exact Matching(CEM), this study evaluates the effect of career experiential learning on career maturity and academic achievement among Korean adolescents. To guarantee the randomness between the students who has had career experiential learning and the others who has not, we process the raw data through the CEM before the regression analysis. According to the result, the efficacy of the career experiential learning on students' career maturity and their academic achievement still remains statistically significant even after the CEM. This positive significance of career experiential learning is consistent for both high school students and middle school students. Furthermore, direct experiential learning is more efficient than indirect experiential learning to improve career maturity of the students. These results implied that academic ability, as well as, career maturity could be developed by career experiential learning. While emphasizing the importance of career experiential learning for Korean adolescent, we also discuss the social implications of this study to encourage career education and its limitations.

The subjects were collected from 263 40-59 year old middle-aged workers who work at three institutions in C and G cities. Results First, the variables affecting aging anxiety were aging preparation and health status, and these variables accounted for 52% of aging anxiety. Second, health status had a significant effect on retirement preparedness, and there was a significant indirect effect on aging anxiety through retirement preparedness. There was a partial control effect due to the difference in the path coefficient between health status and aging anxiety in the multi-group moderating effect of 40~49 and 50~59 years. Therefore, in order to reduce aging anxiety, it is important to find ways to prepare for various retirement, and a systematic management system is necessary.

  • We investigate the dynamic relationships among digital piracy activities, TV ratings, and online buzz for Korean TV dramas using a panel vector autoregression model. Our main findings include 1) TV ratings are negatively affected by digital piracy activities but positively affected by google buzz, 2) digital piracy activities are negatively affected by TV ratings and social buzz, and 3) social buzz and google buzz are positively influenced by each other. While many empirical studies were conducted to reveal the effects of music or movie piracy, our understanding of drama piracy is limited. We provide empirical evidence of the dynamic relationships between drama piracy, TV ratings, and online buzz. Our findings show the presence of indirect piracy effects on TV ratings through online buzz. Further, we reveal that social buzz and google trends play different roles in promoting TV ratings and piracy activities. We discuss the implications of our findings for theory and practitioners.

The study participants of 145 out-of-school youths derived from 5th Panel Survey of School Dropouts. To analyze the collected data, descriptive statistics, Pearson's correlation, and path analysis conducted by using SPSS 26.0 and AMOS 26.0. Parent attachment directly related to life satisfaction. Peer attachment directly related to life satisfaction and to depression. Life satisfaction had a significant negative relationship to depression. Parent attachment (𝛽=-.23, p=.006, 95% CI: -0.33~-0.12) and peer attachment (𝛽=-.18, p=.002, 95% CI: -0.31~-0.08) had indirect effects on depression through mediating life satisfaction. Results of this study indicate that we will discuss implications for possible policies and programs to help out-of-school youth successfully integrate a satisfying life and safely improve depression.

  • This study tested the possibility of applying the integrated social cognitive career theory for workers with disabilities to explore ways of predicting and enhancing their subjective well-being. It analyzed 952 adults who were employed for three years, among the workers who had participated in the Panel Survey of Employment for the Disabled from 2016 to 2018. The results showed that disability acceptance was positively related to occupational self-efficacy, job satisfaction, and life satisfaction with statistical significance, and that occupational self-efficacy had a partial mediating effect on the relationship between job satisfaction and disability acceptance. Moreover, both auto-regressive and cross-lagged effects between disability acceptance and job satisfaction were found to be statistically significant. These findings imply that disability acceptance and occupational self-efficacy can be regarded as important factors to increase the subjective well-being of workers with disabilities.
