  • Previous research on work and life balance mainly focused on workers' passive acceptance of interferences rather than active management of them. However, workers can also actively manage boundaries to enhance work and life balance. To find ways to enhance work and life balance, especially in the context of Smart Work, factors having effects on the work/nonwork interferences and their relationships should be firstly investigated. The results show that in a work domain, both boundary strength at work and job autonomy negatively influence on the nonwork to work interferences; in a nonwork domain, both boundary strength at nonwork and autonomy have negative effects on the work to nonwork interferences.

  • In this paper, we consider an interference scenario and interference simulation method of intra-wireless vessel communications using SEAMCAT (Spectrum Engineering Advanced Monte-Carlo Analysis) simulator. The interference between electromagnetic equipment and low power radio apparatus can deteriorate a stability of vessel system and it is necessary to analyze the interference probability between radio devices. The proposed simulation method in the 13.56MHz ISM frequency band shows that the interference effect can be minimized when the distance between the devices is greater than 4.7m and 2.7m in case that the victim receiver (VR) are RFID and remote control(RC) toy, respectively. The proposed interference scenario and simulation method are expected to be helpful in the interference probability analysis and regulation policy in the ISM frequency band.

  • In CDMA cellular system, because all users share the frequency resource the signals of other user becomes interference which influences the communication quality. The system capacity defined the number of connected users within a cell is determined by the amount of interference, therefore the exact estimation of interference is important to system performance evaluation. In this paper, we propose an approximated function which calculates other cell interference in terms of Riemann-Zeta function in CDMA cellular systems, and compare with simulation results in other to verify its usefulness. The upper and lower bounds of system capacity calculated with the proposed approximated function gives almost alike result with the simulation. The proposed interference bounds are useful to calculate system capacity and to evaluate some algorithm in a hierarchical cellular systems where various propagation environments are mixed.

  • ILP processors require an accurate branch prediction scheme to achieve higher performance. Two-Level branch predictor has been known to achieve high prediction accuracy. But, when a branch accesses a PHT entry that was, previously updated by other branch, Two-level predictor may cause interferences. Negative interferences among all interferences have a negative effect on performance, since they can cause branch mispredictions. Agree predictor achieve high prediction accuracy by converting negative interferences to positive interferences by adding bias bits to BTB, but negative interferences may occur when bias bit is set incorrectly. This paper presents a new dynamic branch predictor which reduces negative interferences. In the proposed predictor, we attach hit bits to entries in BTB to change bias bit dynamically during the execution time, h a result the proposed scheme improve the accuracy of prediction by reducing negative Interferences effectively, To illustrate the effect of the proposed scheme, we evaluate the performance of this scheme using SPEC92int benchmarks, The results show that the proposed scheme can outperform traditional branch predictors.

  • Wi-Fi enabled Internet of Things (IoTs) had a substantial impact on society, economy and industry. However wireless connectivity technologies in unlicensed band such as Wi-Fi are vulnerable to interferences. They also face difficulty providing wireless connectivity over long range in dense networks due to the dynamically changed interference effect and asymmetric interference conditions. In this paper, robust acknowledgement transmission scheme is proposed for long range IoTs. According to the proposed scheme, it is possible to control the transmission rate of the transmission success rate of the response frame by adjusting the transmission rate of the response frame when the interference is present asymmetrically. It is also possible to use higher data rate when high quality link is guaranteed. The evaluation results demonstrated the proposed scheme improves the aggregate throughput by at most 9 Mbps when 20 MHz bandwidth transmission mode was adopted.

  • In this paper, we propose the interference probability according to distance between mobile stations and the maximal power of interfering transmitter as parameters which are used for analysis to co-exist in co-channel of different systems. In order to analyze interfering between each systems, we consider two cases. First, WiBro is an interfering transmitter and WLAN is a victim receiver. Second, WLAN is an interfering transmitter and WiBro is a victim receiver. When the interfering transmitter is WiBro or WLAN, interference probability according to distance between systems is analyzed by setting transmit power of 25 and 23 dBm, respectively. Analyzed coexistence results under various co-use scenarios may be widely applied into the technique developed to get the coexisting condition for wireless devices using many communication protocols in same frequency.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the relationship between El Nino phenomena and the monthly rainfall variations of Seoul city which is composed of 30 year data during $1967{\sim}1996$. In this study, the monthly rainfall data at Seoul city is analyzed by applying an intervention model. As it is unavailable to get the data of El Nino phenomena, the point of intervention have been decided from the literature survey of the data observed to be the years of 1972, 1976, 1979, 1982, 1986 and 1991. As a results the El Nino was revealed more significant to the monthly rainfall at Seoul. In addition, monthly rainfall varied between the maximum 53.41mm and the minimum 2.50mm. To prevented future natural disaster, long term water planning and management is requied in consideration El $Nin\tilde{o}$.

  • In order to enhance the background noise filtering performance of the white light interferometry(WLI), we demonstrate the noise filtering performance of preprocessing of the measured fringe signals. The WLI was realized through a mirau interferometer which was equipped with a green LED. When measuring large-height and rough surface objects, the illumination optics are considered the numerical aperture(NA) and the depth of focus(DOF). In this case, the limited NA of the illumination optics has a considerable impact on the interference fringe. Therefore, we propose a preprocessing method that uses the intensity difference between the measured intensity and the moving average intensity. The performance is demonstrated by measuring an array of metal solder balls fabricated on printed circuit board(PCB). The proposed method reduces the noise pixels by 15 percent.

  • In piezoelectric ultrasonic linear array transducers widely used for diagnosis, the cross talk caused by the structural cross-coupling between adjacent elements inside the transducer affects the probe performance in a significant manner. In this study, we constructed a finite element model of a piezoelectric ultrasonic transducer, and analyzed its cross talk level with respect to the shape of and materials inside the kerf, The results of this work can be utilized in optimal design of the transducers for medical diagonosis and treatment as well as W applications.
