Impact of Income on Subjective Quality of Life (소득이 주관적 삶의 질에 미치는 영향)

  • 본 논문에서는 한국노동연구원에서 1998년에 수집한 "한국노동패널조사" 자료를 이용하여 소득과 만족도로 측정된 주관적 삶의 질간의 관계를 집중적으로 검토해 보았다. 가구 소득, 가족 관계, 여가활동, 주거활동, 근로활동의 5개 삶의 개별영역들에 대한 만족도가 전반적인 삶의 만족도의 50% 이상을 설명되며, 수입에 대한 만족과 전반적 만족간에는 체감의 관계가 있는 것을 발견하였다. 우리 나라 사람들은 자신의 생활에 보통 이하의 만족을 느끼고 있다고 보고하고 있다. 실제 소득과 소득만족도 와 의 연관 은 그렇게 크지 않으며, 이는 가구 소득의 경우에나 개인 소득의 경우에나 유사하게 실제 소득이 소득만족도의 10%정도의 변이만을 설명하고 있다. 서구의 연구 결과와 유사하게 모두 외적인 조건들을 생활만족도의 설명변수로 한 희귀 분석 결과는 변량의 10%정도만을 설명할 뿐인 것으로 나타난다. 것으로 나타난다.

The Effects of Self-differentiation on the Family Life Satisfaction and Job Satisfaction of Married Employee: Mediating Effects of Conflict Managing Behavior (기혼직장인의 자아분화가 가정생활만족과 직무만족에 미치는 영향 - 갈등대처행동을 매개변인으로 -)

  • This study examined the effects of self-differentiation on family-life satisfaction and job satisfaction, and investigated the mediating effects of conflict-managing behavior. The participants in the present study were 196 married employees. LISREL was employed to test this hypothetical structural model. The results of this empirical study demonstrated that self-differentiation had positive effects on both family-life satisfaction and job satisfaction, which was mediated by the conflict-managing behavior but did not have a direct effect on either family-life satisfaction or job satisfaction. This study verified that conflict-managing behavior had mediating effects on the relationships among self-differentiation, family-life satisfaction, and job satisfaction. The results indicated that the higher the level of self-differentiation was, the more effective conflict-managing behavior was. And the more effective conflict-managing behavior was, the higher the levels of family-life satisfaction and job satisfaction were.

What Makes Husband and Wife Satisfied with their Marriages : A Comparative Analysis of Korea and Japan (한일 부부의 결혼만족도 비교)

  • This study aims to analyze marital satisfaction over the family life course and to find its determinants in Korea and Japan. The data for this study came from nationwide representative sample surveys on family in these two countries including 5,308 Korean and 4,920 Japanese men and women living with their spouses. In order to see the cultural difference and similarity in marital relations, the effects of education, income, employment, marriage gradients (normative patterns between the spouses), family stress, and quality of conjugal interactions on Korean and Japanese couples' marital satisfaction were examined. It was found that the marital satisfaction showed a U-shape pattern for both Korean and Japanese couples. In both countries husbands tend to have higher marital satisfaction than wives over the entire life course. The most important determinants of Korean and Japanese couples' marital satisfaction are good qualities of conjugal interactions including deep trust and concerns for spouse and sex life satisfaction. For Korean couples good conjugal interactions is better predictor of marital satisfaction than sex life, while for Japanese couples sex life is more important determinant of marital satisfaction.

The Family Network Types and Life Satisfaction of the Rural Elderly (농촌노인의 가족관계망 유형과 생활만족도)

  • This study investigated the family network of elderly and its effects on the subjective life satisfaction in Rural Area. In order to classify the family network, the authors used the analysis technique of social network including to a spouse, children and grandchildren. In addition, the authors described basic characteristics of family network on the family type, interaction frequency, and interaction content. And then family network typified four types by K-means cluster analysis method according to characteristics of family network and examined difference on life satisfaction of the elderly persons according to the type of family network. The major results were as following. First, the elderly did contact his/her children often, emotional support revealed that highest support expectation of elderly. Second, The family network of elderly could be typified four types ; 'relation estranged type', 'children-grandchildren centered type', 'family dependent type', 'couples centered type' and statistically significant difference showed in life satisfaction according to each type. The result, in the 'couples centered type', the life satisfaction was highest; on the contrary, 'relation estranged type', it was lowest. Third, Influencing factors on life satisfaction of the old person were economic conditions, physical conditions, education level, sex, more frequent contacts with grandchild, emotional support expectation of spouses. The results of this study suggest that social welfare political and institutional efforts are needed to improve the relationship between older persons and their children, grandchildren and spouses and life satisfaction of the elderly.

The Effect which the Motivating Factors of Teenagers have ontheir own Self-efficacy and School-life Satisfaction (청소년의 동기요인이 자기효능감과 학교생활만족에 미치는 영향)

  • This research is to investigate the effect of teenagers' motivating factors on their own self-efficacy and school-life satisfaction. Positive analysis of data was made based upon the theoretical background. Also, the casual relation between the motivating factors of teenagers and their self-efficacy and school-life satisfaction was verified. The result of the study was as follows: stress, family effect, and mass communications had an effect on intrinsic motivation and extrinsic motivation. The intrinsic motivation had an effect on the school-life satisfaction, and the extrinsic motivation was revealed to have an effect on the self-efficacy and school-life satisfaction. Students' self-efficacy also influenced their school-life satisfaction. This study suggested a few methods to improve teenagers' self-efficacy and their school-life satisfaction through the motivating factors.

Suggestions to Cultivate Community Spirits for Residence College Freshmen with the Concepts of Spontaneity and Creativity in Psychodrama (사이코드라마의 자발성과 창조성 개념으로 바라본 기숙형 단과대학 신입생들의 공동체의식 함양을 위한 제언)

  • This study aimed to investigate the level of community spirits of residence college freshmen, and the differences in community spirits by life satisfactions of residence college, majors, and family, which were the most intimate interaction objects, under the current circumstance where the importance of the community spirits were emphasized. As the results, the total level of freshmen's community spirits were a bit high with 3.66 of average score. As the results of difference analyses on the level of community spirits by the life satisfaction of family, major and residence college, the students who answered that their life satisfaction by family became lower, and who answered their major and residence college life satisfaction became higher were showed the higher community spirits level. On the bases of those research results, the researcher suggested several alternatives to cultivate community spirits of freshmen in residence college with the concepts of spontaneity and creativity in psychodrama.

Family, Work Experiences and Phychological Well-being among Employed Wives (기혼 취업여성의 가족생활 및 직업생활 경험과 심리적 복지 이형실; 15-23 검수 목록보기)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationships between family, work experiences and psychological well-being among employed wives. Data were collected from 258 full-time employed wives in dual-earner families. 63.6% of respondents were in their 30s and 36.4% in their 40s. Educational and income level was above average. Employed wives experienced higher levels of stress and satisfaction in parenting than in marital relationships and work. The findings of this study indicated that higher levels of marital stress and parenting stress were negatively related to work satisfaction for employed wives in dual-earner couples. Work stress had negative effects on parenting satisfaction. However, marital satisfaction was not influenced by parenting stress and work stress. The results of the regression analysis revealed that marital, work and parenting satisfaction were significant predictors of psychological well-being of employed wives. The size of effects were found to be greater for marital and work satisfaction than for parenting satisfaction.

Effect of the Facility Satisfaction, Anxiety, Self-esteem, Stress, and Depression of the Elderly in Care Facilities on Their Life Satisfaction (요양시설 입소노인의 시설 만족도, 불안, 자아존중감, 스트레스, 우울이 생활만족도에 미치는 영향)

  • This study examined how the facility satisfaction, anxiety, self-esteem, stress, and depression of the elderly in care facilities affect their life satisfaction. The objects of the study were 271 elderly in 8 care facilities located in Seoul and associated areas. The results of a questionnaire, which was carried out from the 10th March to 25th August 2013, were analyzed. For data analysis, a t-test, one-way variance analysis, correlation analysis, and proof analysis on the SPSSWIN 18.0 program was conducted at the significance level of 5%. The analysis revealed the following. First, there were differences in the life satisfaction depending on age, sex, education level, and marital status. Second, life satisfaction was related to service satisfaction, medical service satisfaction, facility environment satisfaction, and self-esteem. Third, life satisfaction was higher if self-esteem, service satisfaction and facility environment satisfaction were higher, and if the family relationship stress was lower. Overall, self-esteem, service satisfaction, and facility environment satisfaction of the admitted elderly were positive influential factors of life satisfaction.

The Relationship between Gerotranscendence, Family Support, Social Support, Self-esteem, and Fear of Death in Elders for Promotion of Life Care (라이프케어 증진을 위한 노년기의 노년초월, 가족지지, 사회적지지, 자아존중감, 죽음불안과의 관계)

  • This study is a descriptive study to dentify gerotranscendence, family support, social support, self-esteem, and degree of fear of death and the relationship between old age. Through this study, it provide basic data that can help target elderly people do better in their later years. From June 2018 to October 2018, residents' self-governing centers, senior citizens' centers, and life-long education centers were visited to explain the purpose of the research, and those who voluntarily agreed to the research were selected. The following results were obtained by surveying 50 adults aged 60 or older in Seoul using structured questionnaire. The difference in the level of gerotranscendence, family support, social support, self-esteem, and fear of death according to the general characteristics of the target was analyzed as t-test and ANOVA. The correlation of gerotranscendence, family support, social support, self-esteem, and fear of death in early years of life was analyzed as Pearson correlation coefficient. Among the common traits, age was related to social support and death anxiety, marital status was related to family support, and life satisfaction was related to family support. There was a correlation between old age and fear of death, a correlation between family support and self-esteem, and social support related to self-esteem and fear of death. In conclusion, this study found that early retirement in the old age was associated with fear of death, and it was found that family support in the old age affected self-esteem and satisfaction in life. Future studies need to be conducted on groups of adults in the later years, including the degree of elderly age, satisfaction with living, and relationship between the elderly and the elderly.

Types of Work-Life Satisfaction among Married Wage Workers: Focusing on Family-Friendly Leave Policies in the Workplace (기혼남녀근로자의 일-생활 만족유형화 연구: 직장내 휴가관련 가족친화제도를 중심으로)

  • The purpose of this research was, first, to classify work-life satisfaction among married wage workers aged 20-59 years into several distinct types based on two dimensions of work and life, using data from the 20th(2017) wave of the Korean Labor & Income Panel Study. Second, the study aimed to assess the differences in socio-demographic characteristics (sex, age, educational level, average monthly income), and workplace-related variables (weekly working hours, full-time employment, job stability, business type, family-friendly leave policies) by work-life satisfaction type. Accordingly, four types of work-life satisfaction were identified: work-life satisfaction, work-life dissatisfaction, work satisfaction, and life satisfaction. There was a significant difference in the type of work-life satisfaction among married waged workers based on sex, age, educational level, and average monthly income. Additionally, there was a significant difference in the type of work-life satisfaction for all workplace-related variables, namely, weekly working hours, full-time employment, job stability, business type, and family-friendly leave policies. In particular, proportionally higher values of work-life satisfaction were evident among the workers in companies with family-friendly leave policies such as paid leave, menstrual leave, maternity leave, childcare leave, and family events leave, whereas there was a high rate of work-life dissatisfaction among the workers in companies without family-friendly leave policies.
