2009 Revised Home Economics Curriculum in Relation to the Character Education (2009 개정 교육과정에 따른 가정과 교육과정과 인성교육과의 관련성)

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the previous literature in home economics and contents and achievement standards of 2009 revised curruculum in relation to character education. To achieve this purpose 1) the literature review in human development and family, self-management and consumption life, food, clothing, and housing life area is critically discussed in relation to character education, and 2) curriculum contents and achievement standards are analysed in relation to the six pillars(trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring, and citizenship) of character education proposed by Josephson Institute. The results of analysis are verified by five experts in home economics content areas. Specific results of relation between home economics contents/achievement standards and six elements of character education are as follows. Human development and family area is most closely related with all elements of character education among other content areas. In Self-management and consumption life areas, self-management sub-area is very closely related with responsibility element; and consumption life sub-area is very closely related with citizenship element. In food area, health diet and eating sub-area is very closely related with trustworthiness, respect, and responsibility elements; and eco-frendly diet and food sub-area is very closely related with all six elements. In clothing area, clothing and self-expression sub-area is very closely related with trustworthiness, caring, and citizenship elements; and eco-friendly clothing and clothing reform sub-area is very closely related with responsibility, caring, and citizenship elements. In hosing area, housing and living environment sub-area is very closely related with responsibility and caring elements; and sustainable living and decorating living space sub-area is very closed related with trustworthiness, fairness, and citizenship elements.

Research Trends in Teaching-Learning Methods for Home Economics Education (가정과 교육의 교수.학습 방법에 관한 국내 연구 동향)

  • This study aimed to examine the research trends and to suggest future research directions in teaching-learning methods for Home Economics education, by analyzing articles published in three major academic journals in the field. From each of the research studies, the teaching-learning method, the related content area, and the learning effect measures were quantitatively codified. The data were analyzed using frequency analysis and cross-tabulations. According to the results, the number of teaching-learning method studies steadily increased since 1998 and peaked in 2010 and 2011. The most frequently studied content areas were combinations of more than two content areas, and the most frequently studied teaching-learning method was the Content-Based methods, followed by Practical Thinking/Problem Solving, and IT-Based methods. The most frequently used measures of learning effect were Knowledge/Understanding, Attitudes toward Home Economics subject, General Attitudes/Competencies, and the Attitudes toward the Instructional Method, in the order of frequencies. The results of this study are expected to contribute to the teaching-learning method research and also provide implications to the documentation of Home Economics curriculum for secondary education.

Development and Application of Home Economics Teacher Training Program for Elevating The Recognition of Han Culture - Based on Clothing Life Culture in Three Kingdoms Period - (한(韓)문화 인식 증진을 위한 가정과교사 연수 프로그램의 개발 및 적용 - 의생활 문화 영역 삼국 시대 복식을 중심으로 -)

  • This study was conducted as a preparation for the operation of 2007 revised curriculum and an effort towards professional development for Home Economics teachers in clothing life culture area. The aim of this study was to develop an teacher training program based on the clothing life culture in three kingdoms period, apply it to teacher training, and evaluate the program by analyzing the purpose of participation, trainee expectation and gratification, change of recognition level about Han culture, trainee satisfaction, and willingness to apply to teaching and attend further training program. The characteristic of the training program was that it consisted of both highly qualified lectures on professional contents and practices with school classroom level, and it dealt with the ancient korean clothing as its central subject. The purpose of the training program was to elevate the recognition of Han culture and increase the possibility of application in the classroom situation. It showed that the trainees participated with high intrinsic motivations, aiming to improve their professionalism in subject content and expecting various subject content. It also showed that the trainee gratification was very high in professional knowledge of clothing culture area, and the trainees were gratified in most evaluation items. As to the recognition level of korean culture, even before the training program, it was generally higher than average. After the program, it increased meaningfully. Through the training program, the trainees became feel prouder of Han culture and people and themselves as Home economics teachers. The contents of the program were considered very helpful for the improvement of professionalism and the design of instruction and learning activity. It was revealed that Home Economics teachers had very high expectations of the development of instruction-learning models which could enable them to experience new and interesting ideas, help enhance their professionalism, and be applied to their teaching. Therefore, continuous development and operation of the teacher training program relating to the life culture such as clothing, food, and housing life are needed.

A case study of flipped learning applied to a college-level course on the culture of family living and its effect (플립러닝을 적용한 대학의 가정생활문화 수업 사례와 효과)

  • This study was to execute the flipped learning as a learner-centered teaching and learning method in the course on family living culture for home economics education students in a college of education, and to investigate its effect. Flipped learning was designed in three stages(Pre class/In class/After class), and a questionnaire survey was distributed to 40 students to measure the class satisfaction. In addition, class worksheets and reflection journals that students wrote after every class were analyzed. Students positively evaluated flipped learning because they could take non-competition class with questions and discussion, etc. escaping from a one-way lecture. This study found that the level of class satisfaction was high due to high learning effect as the dual learning was available in case of prerequisite learning or individual learning. In particular, the class using Visual Thinking was considered interesting and useful in understanding and summarizing the learning contents. This study has shown that the willingness to take other flipped learning class in their major was high. To conclude, this study has found positive learning effects in the learner-centered teaching and learning method or flipped learning for the course concerning family living culture. This researcher expects that flipped learning may be utilized in the secondary education in the future as an effective learner-centered teaching and learning method for the purpose of fostering talents for the future in the era of the fourth industrial revolution.

A Study on the Socio-Cultural Patterns of Korean-Chinese New Words (한·중 인물지칭 신어의 사회·문화적 양상에 대한 고찰 -2017년~2018년 인기 신어를 중심으로-)

  • The new word for person designation is frequently used and spread in daily life. It reflects the new lifestyle or cultural phenomenon of the society. This study compared and analyzed the social and cultural phenomena based on the new words for person designation that emerged in Korea and China in 2017 and 2018. This study divided the words into three areas: personal life, family life, and work life and adopted qualitative analysis and control analysis. In Korea, various lifestyles pursuing happiness have emerged, and lots of consumers have sought reasonable and economical consumption. On the other hand, intemperate shopping has become an issue in China. Many korean single-person households were unmarried. Many chinese single-person households have been divorced. In China, Divorce due to urbanizationn increased rapidly. In Korea, many couples divorced after their children's independence. Young Koreans often relied on their parents even after marriage. Korean elders tended to be poor and marginalized. There was an early study abroad craze in China. Young people in Korea and China suffered from unemployment. After employment, they prepared to change jobs or retire. In future studies, studying Korean class plans on the new words for person designation, after reinforcing the latest word data, will help Chinese learners to understand Korean society and culture.

A Study on Serious Game Production Based on Jewish Play (유대인의 놀이를 주제로 한 기능성 게임 제작 방안에 관한 연구)

  • The Jews has been cited as the most influential nations in the world of politics, economy, and culture in many areas. For these reasons, the study of Jewish economic life such as child-rearing, family life, and religious life is getting expanded to various areas. In this paper, we deal with the Jews's play for the various areas. Play is the best way to see the consciousness of a certain age on learning the structure and lifestyle. Therefore, the research is described to produce serious games based on by study of Jewish play using information in the internet, researched paper. Then, the investigated play's role of technology for production of functional game plans are discussed. As a result, the Jews play: 1) the history, traditions of wisdom, tools, 2) a medium for delivering educational messages, 3) the formation of community tools emotions 4) promise to play a role as a tool for learning. The development and Release of serious games based on Jews play can lead to a positive social learning effect.

Educational Needs Related to Clothing and Textiles Perceived by Secondary Students, Home Economics Teachers and Professors (중.고등학교 가정과목 의생활 분야 교육내용 연구 -학생, 교사, 전공 교수의 요구도 분석-)

  • The purpose of this research are (1) determining the basic concepts of clothing field which are included in the middle and high school home economics education curriculum ; (2) comparing the extent of need to those three groups; (3) classifying the basic concepts into units; (4) ana-lyzing the extent of need by units and providing basic data for curriculum revision. The data collecting methods of this research is questionair and the contents of this are the same. The subjects are 1085 students, 402 teachers and 80 professors. The data was analyzed by one-way ANOVA, scheffe test and factor analysis. The results were as follows: (1) 43 basic concepts were determined. (2) While the extent of need in the teachers and professors was high, that of students was me-dium or lower than the other two groups. (3)The extent of need to 40 concepts among three groups were significantly different. (4)According to the results from the factor analysis 7 units were formed. (5)‘Accurate dressing’was the most needed thing among three groups.

  • The aims of this article are analyzing the job of healthy family supporter for culture work and understanding their core and development competency. As a result, the primary job of healthy family supporter for culture work is planning culture and volunteer work with family program, their core competencies are understanding of daily life and culture, interpersonal skills, creative thinking, problem-solving and social skills and development competencies are planning and evaluation program, word processing skill, creative thinking and problem-solving.

  • 최근의 컴퓨터 및 기타 통신망의 급속한 팽창 과 고속화 및 발전으로 인터넷이 없는 일상 생활은 상상할 수 도 없을 만큼 우리와 밀접하게 연결되어 있다. 특히 타 국가에 비하여 초고속 통신망이 일반가정에까지 광범위하게 연결되어 있는 우리나라에서는 인터넷의 사용자가 전문가로부터 주부에 이르기까지 그 사용자 층과 사용범위가 매우 광범위하며 그 적용분야가 나날이 증가하고 있다. 이는 1969년 미국방성의 ARPANET 프로젝트를 시발점으로 하여 USENET, BITNET 등으로 이어지는 과거 인터넷의 전통적인 학술 및 군사적 사용목적에서 그 사용범위가 크게 확대되어 요즈음은 오히려 상업적 목적의 사용이 훨씬 더 활발하고 다양한 양상을 띠고 있는 것과 무관하지 않다.(중략)

  • 홈 IoT 기술은 최근 주목 받고 있는 IoT 융합서비스 중에서 가장 으뜸인 분야이다. 기존의 홈네트워크 기술의 한계를 넘어서 사물인터넷 (IoT) 기능이 포함된 가전제품 및 가정설비가 스스로 정보를 생산해서 다른 사물 또는 사람과 연계되어 일정 수준의 자동화 결정을 하여 사용자의 주거 생활 서비스의 질을 높여주는 기술 및 서비스를 의미한다. 본 고에서는 이러한 홈 IoT기술 동향과 시장 동향을 살핀 후에 기술적인 발전 방향에 대해서 소개한다.
