Analysis of inducton heater with stacked cores (적층형 코어를 갖는 유도가열기의 해석)

  • 본 논문에서는 액체의 가열을 위한 유도가열기에서 와전류가 발생하는 중심코어의 형태에 따른 유도가열기의 성능을 비교하였다. 특히 코어가 여러 층의 도체로 이루어졌을 경우의 시스템 성능의 변화에 대한 해석과 실험을 수행하였다. 유도가열의 수치적인 해석은 상용 프로그램인 Maxwell을 사용하였으며, 실험을 통하여 유한요소해석 모델을 검증하였다. 본 연구를 통하여 가열되는 코어가 여러 층으로 이루어져 있을 경우 유도가열기의 성능이 향상됨을 알 수 있었다.

  • It is necessary to obtain a fire resistance certification in order to use Fire Protection Coating in Korea. According to the fire test standards, columns have four heating sides and beams have three. In comparison with columns which are heated four sides equally, beams have three exposed sides and one unexposed up side. So the question arises as to there were the differences between the temperature of up side and others of beams in fire test. The purpose of this study is to consider the positions of thermocouples for beams through a comparative analysis of the temperature data obtained from fire certification tests.

  • A currently used roof green system with multi layers has a low constructability. Therefore a new integrated waterproof & root barrier sheet and roof green box unit system was developed using steel plate fixture and cone type fixture by electromagnetic induction heating method. This study was proceeded to evaluate adhesion performance of two types of fixtures on Engineering PE, TPO, PVC sheet in a normal condition, repeated heating and cooling condition. As a result, adhesion load on Engineering PE sheet showed the highest value. The adhesion loads of steel plate fixture showed higher value as heating temperature was getting higher. However adhesion loads of cone type fixture showed opposite tendency. Regarding to the test conditions, test results of normal condition, repeated heating and cooling condition showed same value. The cone type fixture using butyl tape showed 7 times lower adhesion load than that of cone type fixture using electromagnetic heating and 28% lower adhesion load in a repeated heating and cooling condition than a usual condition.

  • This study is the performance test of the vitiated air heater with high temperature and high pressure. The vitiated air heater to provide hot air about 2000 K was designed, and the performance test is carrying out. The designed vitiated air heater uses methane, oxygen, and mixing air by working gases, and uses mixing air for cooling of the bottom of a mixing head. By this reason, the vitiated ar heater has to be designed with heat-resistance from hot frame, and to be tested for its proof. In this paper the performance of he vitiated air heater is analyzed to some test results.

  • This paper presents the design of a control system for improving performance of a washer fluid heating system (WFHS) which is capable of removing frost, ice, snow and/or other debris from windshield. First, for the WFHS, a modeling process is described, and the extraction of characteristic parameters of the model are made by experimental studies. Design variables that affect on performance of the WFHS are also presented. Secondly, a control system is proposed for improving heating performance of the WFHS, and its performance is verified through experiments. The key feature of the proposed control system is to regulate the current of a booster converter input to the WFHS up to the target value that is set to guarantee heating performance. Target current is calculated by using initial temperature value and employing the mathematical model derived in the paper. Computer simulation and experimental results show that the proposed control system can perform heating operations in a way to satisfy per-determined target performance of the WFHS.

  • The main motivation for this study was to establish a CFD-based procedure for the analysis of heating characteristics, particularly in industrial furnaces. As certain open-source software packages have gained popularity in dealing with complex industrial problems, the OpenFOAM framework was selected for further development of advanced physical models to meet industrial requirements. In this study, the newly developed comprehensive model was applied to simulate physical processes in the full-scale horizontal furnace of a continuous galvanizing line (CGL). The numerical results obtained indicate that the current approach predicts heating characteristics reasonably well. It was also found that radiative heat transfer plays a dominant role in heating the moving strip. To improve the predictability of our method, further work is required to model the turbulence-chemistry interaction realistically, as well as to impose a physically correct thermal wall boundary condition.

  • This paper is concerned with the effects of temperature of diesel fuel on combustion characteristics and engine performance in a home-made precombustion diesel engine for small-sized fishing boat. The results may be summarized as follows: 1. The fuel injection timing was delayed with increase in temperature for diesel fuel, and remarkably delayed at low load. 2. The point of maximum pressure was delayed with increase in temperature for diesel fuel, the maximum pressure decreased with increase in temperature for diesel fuel but increased with increase in load. 3. The brake specific fuel comsumption (BSFC) decreased with increase in load, the optimum temperature of the heated fuel was about 15$0^{\circ}C$. 4. The smoke emissions increased with increase in load and temperature for diesel fuel.

  • The performance deformation of concrete can be caused by many factors such as load, thermal strain and creep at high temperature. Japan, Europe and America have been doing various experimental studies to solve these problems about thermal properties of concrete at high temperature, each study has generated different results due to a heating methods, heating hours, size of specimens and performance of a the loading, heating method, size of specimen and heating machine. There has been no unified experimental method so far. Therefore, this study reviewed experimental studies on the strength performance of concrete subject to heating and loading method. As a result, compressive strength of specimen prestressed increase in the temperature range of between $100^{\circ}C$ and about $400^{\circ}C$. Also, results can be analyzed as compare equation of compressive strength at elevated temperature with CEN and CEB code.

  • A scramjet engine intake model was tested with a storage air heater type hypersonic wind tunnel. In test results, there is no large performance change with the variation of the sidewall configurations. In the isolator performance analysis, pressure distribution of oblique shock train and normal shock train was observed. Unstart limit of the model was also confirmed.
