A Study on the Emissions Characteristics of a LPG Vehicle According to Various Test Modes and Ambient Conditions (다양한 시험모드와 환경조건에 따른 LPG 차량의 배출특성 연구)

  • As the interest on the air pollution is gradually rising up at home and abroad, automotive and fuel researchers have been working on the exhaust emission reduction from vehicles through a lot of approaches, which consist of new engine design, innovative after-treatment systems, using clean (eco-friendly alternative) fuels and fuel quality improvement. This research has brought forward various main issues : whether PM emissions should be regulated for diesel and gasoline vehicles and whether gasoline and LPG powered vehicles can be further neglected from PM emission inventories. Finally, the greenhouse gas regulation has been discussed including automotive emission regulation. The greenhouse gas and emissions of automotive had many problem that cause of ambient pollution, health effects. Based on various test modes and ambient conditions, this paper discusses the characteristics of LPG on exhaust emissions and greenhouse gases. Also, this paper assessed emission characteristics due to the test temperature. These test temperature were performed by dividing the temperature of the test mode and the lowest local temperature in winter. Through this study, the correlation of vehicle test mode and ambient condition, exhaust emission, greenhouse gas emission was analyzed.

A Study on the Flow Characteristics of the Flue Gas Recirculation with the Change of Venturi Tube Shape (벤튜리관 형상에 따른 배기가스 재순환 유동 특성에 관한 연구)

  • Exhaust gas recirculation method is widely used among various methods for reducing nitrogen oxides in automobile engines and incinerators. In the present study, the computational fluid dynamic analysis was accomplished to derive the optimal location of air nozzle exit position by changing its position in a venturi tube for the maximum flue gas recirculation effect. In addition, the flue gas recirculation characteristics with a cone at the exit of air nozzle was elucidated with flue gas recirculation flow rate ratio and mixed gas exit temperature. When the air nozzle exit position was changed from the start position (z = 0) to the end position (z = 0.6m) of the exhaust gas recirculation exit pipe, the change of streamline and temperature distribution in the venturi tube was observed. The exhaust gas recirculation flow rate and the average temperature at the mixed gas exit position was quantitatively compared. From the present study, the optimal location of air nozzle exit position for the maximum flue gas recirculation flow rate ratio and maximum mixed gas exit temperature is z = 0.15m (1/4L). In addition, when the cone is installed at the outlet of the air nozzle, the velocity of the air nozzle outlet is increased, the flue gas recirculation flow rate was increased by about 2 times of the flow rate without cone, and the mixed gas exit temperature is increased by $116^{\circ}C$.

A Study on the Surface Hardening in Low Alloy Steels using Plasma Nitriding (플라즈마 질화를 이용한 저합금강의 표면강화 연구)

  • 저합금강인 SCM415강에 대한 플라즈마 질화의 변수에 따른 질화특성을 관찰하여 최적공정을 확립한 후 기존의 질화법인 염욕질화와 가스질화 되어진 시편과 피로특성을 비교하였다. 가스조정비는 질소대 수소의 비가 3:1일 때 가장 높은 표면강도를 가지며, 온도는 높아질수록 표면강도는 낮아지고 유효경화깊이는 깊어지는 것을 알 수 있었다. 또한 질화시간이 증가될수록 표면경도는 낮아지고 유효경화깊이는 깊어졌다. 본 플라즈마 질화장비에서의 최적공정조건은 공정온도 500℃, 공정시간 4시간, 질소와 수소의 비가 3:1으로 관찰되었고, 이 때 표면경도는 1181 Hv, 화합물층의 깊이 17 ㎛, 유효경화깊이 450 ㎛로 측정되었다. 가스질화 되어진 시편의 표면경도는 945 Hv, 유효경화깊이 250 ㎛였고, 염욕질화 되어진 시편의 경우는 각 846 Hv, 300㎛으로 관찰되었다. 또한 플라즈마 질화공정을 거친 질화강과 가스질화, 염욕질화 되어진 질화강의 피로특성을 평가한 결과 플라즈마 질화강이 가스질화, 염욕질화 되어진 질화강에 비하여 1.5∼2배의 우수한 피로특성을 나타내었다.

  • This paper intends to present theoretical study and its application result of the way of the temperature distribution embodiment through the production of subdivided nod's temperature from the average, maximum and minimum temperature following acoustic speed measurement with a set of acoustic speed meters at the arbitrary section in the furnace. By measuring the acoustic speed between the speed meters, flue gas temperature field can be determined. Then Subdivided arbitrary grid's temperatures can be infered out of surrounding nod's temperature distribution, and finally the entire grid's temperature distribution will be found. In this article, theoretical background, related system setup. and real application result are examined and discussed.

  • 1. LPG 온풍기는 용량 16$\times$$10^4$ ㎉ 건타입가스버너, 연소부 및 열교환부, 6개의 50kgLPG탱크와 자동절체기, 가스메타, 배관으로 구성하였다. LPG 온풍기의 이론연소효율은 91%, $CO_2$ 배출량은 11.74%, CO배출량은 0ppm, 과잉공기비는 1.16, 배기가스온도는 253$^{\circ}C$, 온풍온도는 8$0^{\circ}C$로서 우수한 성능으로 나타났다. 2. LPG온풍기에서 배출되는 배기가스중의 $CO_2$ 를 온실로 공급하기 위하여 $CO_2$ 공급기를 제작하여 배출가스연도에 부착하였다. $CO_2$ 공급기는 흡입형 시로코팬(1200㎥/h)과 차단문으로 이루어졌다. 1-2W형 300평 온실내의 $CO_2$ 농도를 1000ppm으로 올리기 위해서는 $CO_2$ 공급기를 약 1시간 정도 운전시켜야 할 것으로 판단되었다. 3. LPG온풍기와 경유온풍기의 경제성 비교분석에 의하면 현 시점의 경유 가격 242원, LP가스 가격 435원을 기준으로 연간소요비용은 각각 5,392,430원, 5,299,917원으로 경유온풍기가 10만원 정도 경제적이지만 탄산가스 시용비용, 탄산가스 공급으로 인한 작물의 수량증대 및 고품질 생산물을 고려한다면 LPG온풍기 사용이 더 경제적이라 사료된다.

Numerical Analysis for Temperature Distribution and Thermal Stresses in a Turbocharged Large CNG Engine Piston (터보과급 대형 CNG기관 피스톤의 온도분포와 열응력 해석)

  • The purpose of this paper is to establish a standard finite element analysis model of a piston by carrying out three dimensional modeling of a series six-cylindered CNG engine's piston to forecast temperature distribution at stationary state and the following thermal stress and variation, and cross checking it with existing analysis. Also, in order to evaluate the affects of the cooling system to the piston's heat load, the paper analyzed piston's temperature and thermal stress distribution according to the cooling water temperature changes and the following variations. As a result, the maximum temperature was found at the center of the crown in the piston and the maximum thermal stress occurred from the lower part of the piston.

  • This paper is aimed to study the effect of Pd activator, the annealing temperature, and operating temperatures on the response characteristics of the $SnO_2/Al_2O_3$ sensor. The resistance of device has shown minimum value when annealing temperature and operating temperature of device are $550^{\circ}C$ and $350^{\circ}C$ respectively in ethanol gas. And the response characteristics of the device showed the best results when lwt% Pd was added to SnOz especially in low concentration of ethanol gas.
