  • TOLED(Transparent, Organic Light Emitting Diodes) based edutainment system has been studied to solve the actual feeling training and educational experience problem of e-learning. However, edutainment system using TOLED has a problem for the non-detection of multi marker array and rotate marker array, and it has problem for the dissonance phenomena caused by Illumination Environment between real world and virtual object. It also has a do not provide services through a variety of devices problem. Therefore, in this paper, we designed a system that provides a realistic actual feeling edutainment contents by recognizes the marker array rotation and a plurality of marker arrangement via an improved marker detection technique. And to unify the real space and virtual space of the lighting environment through a nested block layer.

  • This paper is related to a new technology allowing a user to have a 360 degree viewpoint of the virtual wearing object, and to an object VR(Virtual Reality)-based 2D virtual textile wearing system using viewpoint vector estimation and textile texture mapping. The proposed system is characterized as capable of virtually wearing a new textile pattern selected by the user to the clothing shape section segmented from multiview 2D images of clothes model for object VR, and three-dimensionally viewing its virtual wearing appearance at a 360 degree viewpoint of the object. Regardless of color or intensity of model clothes, the proposed system is possible to virtually change the textile pattern with holding the illumination and shading properties of the selected clothing shape section, and also to quickly and easily simulate, compare, and select multiple textile pattern combinations for individual styles or entire outfits. The proposed system can provide higher practicality and easy-to-use interface, as it makes real-time processing possible in various digital environment, and creates comparatively natural and realistic virtual wearing styles, and also makes semi -automatic processing possible to reduce the manual works to a minimum. According to the proposed system, it can motivate the creative activity of the designers with simulation results on the effect of textile pattern design on the appearance of clothes without manufacturing physical clothes and, as it can help the purchasers for decision-making with them, promote B2B or B2C e-commerce.

Visibility-based Automatic Path Generation Method for Virtual Colonoscopy (가상 대장내시경을 위한 가시성을 이용한 자동 경로 생성법)

  • Virtual colonoscopy is an easy and fast method to reconstruct the shape of colon and diagnose tumors inside the colon based on computed tomography images. This is a non-invasive method, which resolves weak points of previous invasive methods. The path for virtual colonoscopy should be generated rapidly and accurately for clinical examination. However, previous methods are computationally expensive because the data structure such as distance map should be constructed in the preprocessing and positions of all the points of the path needs to be calculated. In this paper, we propose the automatic path generation method based on visibility to decrease path generation time. The proposed method does not require preprocessing and generates small number of control points representing the Path instead of all points to generate the path rapidly. Also, our method generates the path based on visibility so that a virtual camera moves smoothly and a comfortable and accurate path is calculated for virtual navigation. Also, our method can be used for general virtual navigation of various kinds of pipes.

  • IT convergence technology is gradually becoming anthropocentric and evolving based on the low-carbon green growth. Augmented reality technique is a contents convergence technology that can mix virtual objects while maintaining a sense of the real world. For that reason, interaction between user and system is possible, can make various applications, and has a high possibility for expandability. To expand the scope of existing interaction, this paper suggests contextual UX-based augmented reality system. It is a system which creates virtual objects that respond to the changes in the real world environment, and users can directly apply their personal preferences to virtual objects. Also, several virtual objects can be registered all at once, and even shows animations corresponding to either day and night according to the brightness of illumination. As said, it improves user's satisfaction through a system of mixed usability, and leads to a continuous use of augmented reality contents.

Component Based Face Detection for PC Camera (PC카메라 환경을 위한 컴포넌트 기반 얼굴 검출)

  • 본 논문은 PC카메라 환경에서 명암왜곡에 강인한 얼굴검출을 위한 컴포넌트 기반 얼굴검출 기법을 제시한다. 영상 내의 얼굴검출을 위해 에지(edge) 분석, 색상 분석, 형판정합(template matching), 신경망(Neural Network), PCA(Principal Component Analysis), LDA(Linear Discriminant Analysis) 등의 기법들이 사용되고 있고, 영상의 왜곡을 보정하기 위해 히스토그램 분석(평활화, 명세화), gamma correction, log transform 등의 영상 보정 방법이 사용되고 있다. 그러나 기존의 얼굴검출 방법과 영상보정 방법은 검출대상 객체의 부분적인 잡음 및 조명의 왜곡에 대처하기가 어려운 단점이 있다. 특히 PC카메라 환경에서 획득된 이미지와 같이 전면과 후면, 상하좌우에서 비추어지는 조명에 의해 검출 대상 객체의 일부분이 왜곡되는 상황이 발생될 경우 기존의 방법으로는 높은 얼굴 검출 성능을 기대할 수 없는 상황이 발생된다. 본 논문에서는 기울어진 얼굴 및 부분적으로 명암 왜곡된 얼굴을 효율적으로 검출할 수 있도록 얼굴의 좌우 대칭성을 고려한 가로방향의 대칭평균화로 얼굴검출을 위한 모델을 생성하여 얼굴검출에 사용한다. 이 방법은 부분적으로 명암왜곡된 얼굴이미지를 기존의 영상 보정기법을 적용한 것 보다 잘 표현하며, 얼굴이 아닌 후보는 비얼굴 이미지의 형상을 가지게 하는 특성이 있다.

  • This paper presents the wind-power model for generation adequacy assessment. Both wind-power and system load depend on time of a year and show their periodic nature with similar periods. Therefore, the two quantities have some probabilistic relations, and if one of them is given, the other can be decided with some probability. In this paper, the two quantities are quantized by k-means clustering algorithm and related probabilities among the cluster centers are calculated using sequential wind-power and system load data. The proposed model is highly expected to be applied for generation adequacy assessment by Monte-Carlo simulation with state sampling method.

Efficient Filtering for Depth Sensors under Infrared Light Emitting Sources (적외선 방출 조명 조건 하에서 깊이 센서의 효율적인 필터링)

  • Recently, infrared (IR)-based depth sensors have proliferated as consumer electronics thanks to decreased price, which led to various applications including gesture recognition in television virtual studios. However, the depth sensors fail to capture depth information correctly under strong light conditions emitting infrared light which are very common in television studios. This paper analyzes the mechanism of such interference between the depth sensors relying on certain IR frequencies and infrared light emitting sources, and provides methods to get correct depth information by applying filters. Also, it describes experiment methods and presents the results of applying multiple combinations of filters with different cut-off frequencies. Finally, it proves that the interference due to IR can be filtered out using proposed filtering method practically by experiment.

  • This paper proposed the alarm processing system to improve the efficiency of monitoring method by applying the neural network and troubleshooting knowledge base for IADAPS(Intelligent Alarm Diagnosis And Processing System) method in an receiving and distributing board of Building complex. This IADAPS is abased on the cumulative generalized delta rule of backpropagation in neural network. It was used to infer the minimum alarms among multi-fired alarms, and the inferred alarm can be displayed maintenance information of facility by using a pre-defined troubleshoot knowledge base. For validating the proposed monitoring method, he method of simulation used to the five case of virtual scenario. As comparison results, a proposed method in this paper could be proved the applied possibility of an neural network and utilized in fields of facilities maintenance, if needed, be operated by non-expertise.

  • In this paper, we present a simulation model for artificially generated winds which affect relatively restricted regions in comparison with natural winds. We first propose an artificial wind propagation model, and then propose an efficient way of calculating the effect of this wind model in the simulation environment. Through showing that our wind force calculation equation is similar to the typical intensity equation for illumination models, we can calculate the wind force indirectly by using the intensity equations for spotlights, and hence we can reduce the simulation time. Our method shows real-time capabilities, and thus can be used various real-time applications including computer games, virtual environments, etc.
