Implementation of Virtual Reader and Tag Emulator System Using DSP Board (DSP 보드를 이용한 가상의 리더와 태그 에뮬레이터 시스템 구현)

  • Modeling a virtual reader and tags, the emulator system is realized by using a commercial signal generation device to make signal, a data collection equipment, and DSP board. By using a Virtual UHF RFID (860 ~ 960 [MHz]) reader/tags module, a developed RFID reader, protocol of tag, and properties of RF support to provide the way how to verify the suitability to international standards (ISO 18000-6 Type C, EPCglobal C1G2). In this paper, to implement a proposed model reader and tag model, Visual DSP is applied by using DSP board, composing the system's signal generators, signal analyzers and performance verification, the target readers or tags, RFID emulator control computesr and control programs.

Performance Improvement by a Virtual Documents Technique in Text Categorization (문서분류에서 가상문서기법을 이용한 성능 향상)

  • This paper proposes a virtual relevant document technique in the teaming phase for text categorization. The method uses a simple transformation of relevant documents, i.e. making virtual documents by combining document pairs in the training set. The virtual document produced by this method has the enriched term vector space, with greater weights for the terms that co-occur in two relevant documents. The experimental results showed a significant improvement over the baseline, which proves the usefulness of the proposed method: 71% improvement on TREC-11 filtering test collection and 11% improvement on Routers-21578 test set for the topics with less than 100 relevant documents in the micro average F1. The result analysis indicates that the addition of virtual relevant documents contributes to the steady improvement of the performance.

A Dynamic Approach to Extract the Original Semantics and Structure of VM-based Obfuscated Binary Executables (가상 머신 기반으로 난독화된 실행파일의 구조 및 원본의미 추출 동적 방법)

  • In recent years, the obfuscation techniques are commonly exploited to protect malwares, so obfuscated malwares have become a big threat. Especially, it is extremely hard to analyze virtualization-obfuscated malwares based on unusual virtual machines, because the original program is hidden by the virtual machine as well as its semantics is mixed with the semantics of the virtual machine. To confront this threat, we suggest a framework to analyze virtualization-obfuscated programs based on the dynamic analysis. First, we extract the dynamic execution trace of the virtualization-obfuscated executables. Second, we analyze the traces by translating machine instruction sequences into the intermediate representation and extract the virtual machine architecture by constructing dynamic context flow graphs. Finally, we extract abstract semantics of the original program using the extracted virtual machine architecture. In this paper, we propose a method to extract the information of the original program from a virtualization-obfuscated program by some commercial obfuscation tools. We expect that our tool can be used to understand virtualization-obfuscated programs and integrate other program analysis techniques so that it can be applied to analysis of the semantics of original programs using the abstract semantics.

QEMU/KVM Based In-Memory Block Cache Module for Virtualization Environment (가상화 환경을 위한 QEMU/KVM 기반의 인메모리 블록 캐시 모듈 구현)

  • Recently, virtualization has become an essential component of cloud computing due to its various strengths, including maximizing server resource utilization, easy-to-maintain software, and enhanced data protection. However, since virtualization allows sharing physical resources among the VMs, the system performance can be deteriorated due to device contentions. In this paper, we first investigate the I/O overhead based on the number of VMs on the same server platform and analyze the block I/O process of the KVM hypervisor. We also propose an in-memory block cache mechanism, called QBic, to overcome I/O virtualization latency. QBic is capable of monitoring the block I/O process of the hypervisor and stores the data with a high access frequency in the cache. As a result, QBic provides a fast response for VMs and reduces the I/O contention to physical devices. Finally, we present a performance measurement of QBic to verify its effectiveness.

  • The availability of computers and the wide network of the internet of the 'Information Society' has created a new space: Cyberspace. In this situations, the matters of individual identities and morality are more important problems. Korean classical novel, Gu Wun Mong, embodied the exploration process of identities in virtual spaces, has gravity of a situation. Seong Jin, the hero experienced the life of Yang so you went throughing virtual life, be born again. And he met eight taoist fairy in that virtual world. In this process, Seong Jin overcame a dualistic world of view and established identity of genuine truth-seeker. Finally, Seong Jin realized the fact that real world and virtual one is the same, for development self-perception. Seong Jin's enlightment provided solutions for modern netizens, who is ambivalent about contradiction the real and virtual, infinity and clash of desire.

A Web-based Virtual Experiment Kit for Digital Logic Circuits Using Java Applet (자바 애플릿을 이용한 웹 기반 디지털 논리회로 가상실험키트)

  • In this paper, we developed an efficient virtual experiment kit with creative and interactive multimedia contents, which can be used to enhance the quality of education in the area of digital logic circuits. Since our virtual experiment kit is implemented to describe the on-campus laboratory, the learners can obtain similar experimental data through it. Also, our web-based virtual experiment kit is designed to enhance the efficiency of both the learners and the educators. The learners will be able to achieve high learning standard and the educators save time and labor. The virtual experiment is performed according to the following procedure: (1) Circuit Composition on the Bread Board (2) Applying Input Voltage (3) Output Measurements (4) Checkout of Experiment Results. Furthermore, the circuit composition on the bread board and its corresponding online schematic diagram are displayed together on the virtual experiment kit for the learner's convenience. Finally, we have obtained several affirmative effects such as reducing the total experimental hours and the damage rate for experimental equipments and increasing learning efficiencies as well as faculty productivity.

  • The purpose of this study is to classify Reality-Virtual Media Connection System in dance field and to analysis cases of dance pieces using Reality-Virtual Media Connection System based on a literature study. It is limited to interactive media dance performances, such as "Glow"(2006) of Chunky Move, "S.U.N"(2011) and "Dalhangari"(2013) of Young ho Nam, "PIXEL"(2014) of ADRIEN M & CLAIRE B, "Midas Space"(2011) of Midas Project. As a result, first, Reality-Virtual Media Connection System is composed with motion tracking system and projection mapping system. Second, each dance piece has various and unique Reality-Virtual Media Connection System. It has influenced on movement and its subjects. Therefore it is suggested to use Reality-Virtual Media Connection System actively by developing of artificial intellectual, awaring potential of internet of things for motion tracking, and increasing communication between dancers and engineers. It is necessary to proceed supplement research on more cases.

  • With the development of information and communication technology, the possibility of utilizing 3D virtual reality in education has been sought. Especially, the screen composition in the virtual reality has the possibility of inducing the emotion of the user which may affect the learning. However, there is little research on what aspects of the screen can cause emotions. The purpose of this study is to analyze the user's perception of screen components inducing emotion in virtual reality learning environment. Using Multi Dimensional Scaling (MDS), the user's perception of the main screen in a representative virtual reality learning environment platform was investigated. As a result, the dimension of depth on the screen and the dynamics of the avatar related to the movement were confirmed. This study is meaningful to explore technical variables that can induce emotions among screen elements in virtual reality contents.

VTF: A Timer Hypercall to Support Real-time of Guest Operating Systems (VIT: 게스트 운영체제의 실시간성 지원을 위한 타이머 하이퍼콜)

  • Guest operating systems running over the virtual machines share a variety of resources. Since CPU is allocated in a time division manner it consequently leads them to having the unknown physical time. It is not regarded as a serious problem in the server virtualization fields. However, it becomes critical in embedded systems because it prevents guest OS from executing real time tasks when it does not occupy CPU. In this paper we propose a hypercall to register a timer service to notify the timer request related real time. It enables hypervisor to schedule a virtual machine which has real time tasks to execute, and allows guest OS to take CPU on time to support real time. The following experiment shows its implementation on Xen-Arm and para-virtualized Linux. We also analyze the real time performance with response time of test application and frames per second of Mplayer.

Extensible Evaluation and Analysis System for Virtual Training using Experiential Knowledge of Expert (전문가 경험지식을 활용하는 확장성 있는 가상훈련 평가 분석 시스템)

  • In recent years, virtual training has attracted a lot of attention because it is as effective as traditional in-person training and provides more cost-effective and safer learning environment. However, the existing virtual training systems rely on the evaluator's qualitative judgement when evaluating and analyzing trainees' performance. Additionally, evaluation and analysis functions are only available on certain systems so those functions need to be developed for each system. In this paper, we propose an extensible evaluation and analysis system for virtual training using experiential knowledge collected from experts for providing effective evaluation and analysis. Specifically, we provide a method of applying Open API so that the proposed system works with different types of virtual training system. In addition, the experiential knowledge is constructed in advance for the evaluation and analysis so that the efficiency of the evaluation with the comparison target is increased. This experiential knowledge can be quantitatively compared to trainees' performance according to the proposed evaluation and analysis procedures.
