Large Deformation Analysis of Nonlinear Beam Element Based on Pseudo Lagrangian Formulation (Pseudo Lagrangian방법(方法)에 의한 비선형(非線型) 보요소(要素)의 대변형(大變形) 해석(解析))

  • A totally, new approach of Lagrangian formulation named 'Pseudo Lagrangian Formulation(PLF)' for large deformation analysis of continue and structures by the finite of element method has been presented, and the efficiency and accuracy of nonlinear analysis beam element formulated by PLF has been discussed by solving several numerical examples. In PLF, the deformation of a body is maeasured by assigning a nonphysical 'Pseudo' configuration as reference. The Lagrangian deformation and the finite element mapping of the traditonal Lagrangian approaches are then carried out directly at the same time, The result of numerical tests shows superior performance of PLF to the traditional Lagrangian methods, Applications of PLF to small and finite deformation problems indicate that PLF not only serves as an alternative but has certain implementational advantages over total or updated Lagrangian formulations.

Design Method for Cast-in-place Energy Pile Considering Equivalent Heat Exchange Rate (등가열교환율을 적용한 현장타설 에너지파일 설계법)

  • In this paper, a relative heat exchange rate is numerically compared for cast-in-place concrete energy piles with different heat exchange pipe configurations, and a new design method for energy piles is proposed. An equivalent heat exchange rate was estimated for the W-type (one series loop), multiple U-type (four parallel loops), and coil-type heat exchanger installed in the same large-diameter drilled shaft. In order to simulate a cooling operation in summer by a CFD analysis, the LWT (leaving water temperature) into a energy pile was fixed at $35^{\circ}C$ and then the EWT (entering water temperature) into a heat pump was monitored. In case of continuously applying the artificial maximum cooling load for 100 hours, all of the three types of heat exchangers show the marginally similar heat exchange rate. However, in case of intermittently applying the cooling load with a cycle of 8 hours operation-16 hours off for 7 consecutive days, the coil type heat exchanger exhibits a heat exchange rate only 86 % of the multiple U-type due to measurable thermal interference between pipe loops in the energy pile. On the other hand, the W-type possesses the similar heat exchange rate to the multiple U-type. The equivalent heat exchange rates for each configuration of heat exchangers obtained from the CFD analysis were adopted for implementing the commercial design program (PILESIM2). Finally, a design method for cast-in-place concrete energy piles is proposed along with a design chart in consideration of typical design factors.

  • The recent development of 3D and its application contents have made it possible for people to experience more various 3D contents such as 3D/4D, VR, 3D ride film, I-max, sensory 3D games at theme parks, large-scale exhibitions, 4D cinemas and Video ride. Among them, Video ride, a motion-based genre, especially is getting more popularity, where viewers are immersed in and get indirect experiences in virtual reality. In this study, the production process of the genre of sensory 3D image getting attention recently and ride film are introduced. In the material selection of 3D images, the space and the setting up which is suitable to the fierce movement of rides are studied and some examples of the realization of creative direction ideas and effective technologies using the functions of Stereo Camera which has been first applied to MAYA 2009 are also illustrated. When experts in this 3D image production create more interesting stories with the cultural diversity and introduce enhanced 3D production techniques for excellent contents, domestic relevant companies will be sufficiently able to compete with their foreign counterparts and further establish their successfully unique and strong domains in the image contents sector.

Production and Usage of Korean Human Information in KISTI (KISTI에 있어서 한국인 인체정보의 생산과 활용)

  • The KISTI (Korea Institute of Science and Technology Information) began to produce the Korean human information called Visible Korean and Digital Korean since 2000 because there was no human information in Korea which could represent the physical characteristics of Korean human body. The Visible Korean consists of CT, MR, sectioned and segmented images of Korean human body. We obtained the serially sectioned images by grinding the Korean cadaver in horizontal direction and segmented these images by outlining the inner organs of human. We have produced the sectioned images of Korean male whole body, male head, and female pelvis in2008. The segmentation and 3D reconstruction of these images are now in proceeding. The Digital Korean consists of CT images of about 100 Korean cadavers. These CT images were segmented by individual bone, reconstructed to produce the 3D bone models and the skin surface model was also added. The mechanical properties of individual bones were obtained by measuring the property of individual bone sample. We have distributed these Korean human informations to users in domestic and abroad. About 70 institutes in domestic, and 20 institutes in abroad have used our data in research use and nearly 160 proceedings and articles were published since 2001. We think these human informations have a role of medical information infrastructure that could be used in the field of medical education, biomechanics, virtual reality etc.

  • The reason to research the musical is it has a lot of useful things for the various studies department not only Korea Musical Theatre own although it has been a successful musical theater on the Off-Broadway by Reboot culture era. Even though does not release on Korea, the popular of the show and powerful results of environments have delivered through the international magazines and Youtube channels to Korea. To study of Musical will be lead us to the world which adopted to the social problems as the youth school violence, family communication hurdle, and religion missing by script not only the musical drama but the interpretation for Teen-agers social problem. There are many kinds of Neo educations are proved by smart learning as STEAM. The students who have been studied with the smartphone, I-pad, personal computer, or laptop as smart tools for class are familliar as feedback processing speedly. It would make them learn the skill for their knowledge of a digital age, but it should not let them how to understand other people's emotion as real although STEAM has emtion part. Besides they have communicated on the social network not the ordinary man but the special ego by themselves, as mention or retweet as like their amusements and make the gossip group. This study would show the perspective for understanding Teen-agers Social Problem and who is the victims today's juvenile problems though the musical based on Jim Taulli's directing.

Development of Water Hammer Simulation Model for Safety Assessment of Hydroelectric Power Plant (수력발전설비의 안전도 평가를 위한 수충격 해석 모형 개발)

  • Sustainable growth of hydroelectric power plants is expected in consideration of climate change and energy security. However, hydroelectric power plants always have a risk of water hammer damage, and safety assurance is very important. The water hammer phenomenon commonly occurs during operations such as rapid opening and closing of the valves and pump/turbine shutdown in pipe systems, which is more common in cases of emergency shutdown. In this study, a computational numerical model was developed using the MOC-FDM scheme to reflect the mechanism of water hammer occurrence. The proposed model was implemented in boundary conditions such as reservoir, pipeline, valve, and pump/turbine conditions and then applied to simulate hypothetical case studies. The analysis results of the model were verified using the analysis results at the main points of the pipe systems. The model produced reasonably good performance and was validated by comparison with the results of the SIMSEN package model. The model could be used as an efficient tool for the safety assessment of hydroelectric power plants based on accurate prediction of transient behavior in the operation of hydropower facilities.

Numerical Analysis of Differential Absorption Lidar for Measuring Atmospheric Pollutants (대기오염 측정용 DIAL시스템의 오차해석)

  • In this study, we composed algorithm of DIAL(Differential Absorption Lidar). we investigated the absorption spectrum of $O_3$, S $O_2$ and N $O_2$ dependent on wavelengths using data base UV-Bank and determine the optimized wavelength model. Here, the selected optimal wavelengths are 292.00(λ$_{on}$ ), 295.20(λ$_{off}$) for $O_3$, 299.38(λ$_{on}$ ), 300.05(λ$_{off}$) for S $O_2$ and 448.00(λ$_{on}$ ), 449.85(λ$_{off}$) for N $O_2$. In particular, we established the supposed model of DIAL and simulated the error of measuring distance using the selected optimal wavelength. In the model-I with telescope of 300 mm diameter, laser energy of 3 mJ and transmission of 10000 shots, maximum distances are 4 km for $O_3$ measurement and 5 km for S $O_2$ and N $O_2$ measurements. Also, in the model-II with telescope of 600 mm diameter, laser energy of 30 mJ and transmission of 10000 shots, maximum distances are 13 km for S $O_2$ and N $O_2$ measurements.ments.

  • This study develops a control algorithm on berthing/unberthing system using a joystick for ships with thrusters and a rudder. A nonlinear mathematical model for low speed maneuvering of typical container ships is used to develop a MIMO(multi-input multi-output) nonlinear control algorithm for velocity feedback joystick control. Also a virtual HILS(hardware in the loop simulation) software program for berthing/unberthing is developed to test the performance of the nonlinear and a PID control algorithm. The program is developed using LabWindow/CVI, and a user can see current position and desired trajectory of ship in a monitor, then he can control forward and yaw velocities of a ship using a joystick. The simulation results show that the nonlinear mfd the PID controller have superior performance over a simple open loop joystick control algorithm.

  • The system that covers gathering, integrating, exchanging, presenting and analyzing of information within ships and shores for the safety and security in Marine Environment is known as e-Navigation Policy. Northern Europe has been conducting research and development. It came up into a concept that deals with ship's route information between vessels as well as vessels to shores which is better known as route exchange system. The research showed substantial advantages on navigational safety by exchanging the route information between vessels in vicinity and vessels to shores. Therefore, upon the adaptation of route exchange System as a major function in integrated navigational system, the existing procedures in VTS could be changed for betterment. In this study, it was verified the effectiveness of route exchange system by the adaptation of a recent collision accident occurred in Korean coast and suggested that route exchange system which would be carried out by the discretion of VTS center in VTS area. Finally, it proposed the new functions for outstanding services and procedures of integrating traffic organization services on coastal VTS for an effective route exchange system in Korean coastal area.

A Prototype Architecture of an Interactive Service System for Digital Hologram Videos (디지털 홀로그램 비디오를 위한 인터랙티브 서비스 시스템의 프로토타입 설계)

  • The purpose of this paper is to propose a service system for a digital hologram video, which has not been published yet. This system assumes the existing service frame for 2-dimensional or 3-dimensional image/video, which includes data acquisition, processing, transmission, reception, and reconstruction. This system also includes the function to service the digital hologram at the viewer's view point by tracking the viewer's face. For this function, the image information at the virtual view point corresponding to the viewer's view point is generated to get the corresponding hologram. Here in this paper, only a prototype that includes major functions of it is implemented, which includes camera system for data acquisition, camera calibration and image rectification, depth/intensity image enhancement, intermediate view generation, digital hologram generation, and holographic image reconstruction by both simulation and optical apparatus. The proposed prototype system was implemented and the result showed that it takes about 352ms to generate one frame of digital hologram and reconstruct the image by simulation, or 183ms to reconstruct image by optical apparatus instead of simulation.
