  • In this paper, we introduced a test environment to test a vision-aided navigation system, as an alternative navigation system when global positioning system (GPS) is unavailable, for vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) unmanned aerial system. It is efficient to use a virtual environment to test and evaluate the vision-aided navigation system under development, but currently no suitable equipment has been developed in Korea. Thus, the proposed test environment is developed to evaluate the performance of the navigation system by generating input signal modeling and simulating operation environment of the system, and by monitoring output signal. This paper comprehensively describes research procedure from derivation of requirements specifications to hardware/software design according to the requirements, and production of the test environment. This test environment was used for evaluating the vision-aided navigation algorithm which we are developing, and conducting simulation based pre-flight tests.

  • The study is to develop and present a leggings pattern that is suitable for the human body by using a standard body type avatar for a female in her 30s. As a research method, the average body type was selected from adult women in their 30s, and the appearance was evaluated using the CLO software program. The data analysis of this study compared the dimensions and shape of each part by legging. The leggings pattern suggested based on the above research results was determine to be a total length of 80.6cm and hip length of 24cm, and the knee length was set by dividing the legging in half from the waist to the hem and then adding 5cm. These figures were evaluated higher than Company D in terms of the adequacy of the upper part of the front and rear plates of Company A as well as the adequacy of the knee lines. Company A's figures were applied and corrected. For the front plate, the waist circumference was divided by 4, and 3.5cm was removed, and the hip circumference was set by dividing the hip circumference by 4, and 3.8cm was removed. In the appearance evaluation results Company D was highly evaluated in the suitability evaluation of the waist and hips, and the waist and hips were set using the pattern of Company D. The length of the front panel was modified by dividing the hip circumference by 4 and adding 1.8cm to the length, and the length of the back panel was modified by dividing the hip circumference by 3 and adding 8cm after dividing the hip circumference by 0.8cm.

  • This study used 3D anthropometric data from the 8th Size Korea to type and analyze whole body shapes of obese women in their 20s and 30s, and constructed dimensional data for human body items needed to create a 3D human body model for each type. The data analysis used data from 148 obese women in their 20s and 30s, and a total of 48 index values, drop values, and angle items were subjected to factor analysis and one-way variance analysis to categorize body types and verify significant differences by type. As a result of the factor analysis, 12 factors were extracted and divided into 4 body types. Type 1 is a 'standard type with a curved torso with balanced upper and lower body lengths', Type 2 is a 'bending forward type with a short, thick lower body, and an uncurved torso', Type 3 is a 'lean back type with a long and thin lower body and an H-shape torso', Type 4 is a 'sway back type with a long and thick lower body and abdominal obesity'. The representative body type of obese women in their 20s and 30s was identified as Type 1. The constructed body shape information will be used as basic data for future 3D human body modeling.

  • In this paper, we propose a solution to apply a proximity voice dialog system to voice dialog technology, one of the interaction systems in multimedia environments. A voice dialog between multiple users in a multimedia space is designed by adjusting the volume of the voice according to the distance between the user avatars and muting the user who is beyond the audible distance. The main feature of this research is a reliable UDP-based active server system that delivers low-quality voice data to users who are far away based on distance and does not transmit voice data to users who enter the inaudible area for economic development. The performance of the proposed system was measured in a previously completed project based on the Unity game engine, and it is expected that the system proposed in this research will be actively used in environments that provide interaction between multiple users such as met averse content and real-time battle action games.

  • In this paper, we present a particle-grid blending framework based on a geometric approach to efficiently represent opaque ice spheres with air bubbles. The water temperature is diffused through the grid and the air bubbles represented inside the ice through the particles. To solve the problem of previous methods that generate noisy dissolved air fields, we use levelsets to lighten the algorithm, i.e., the number of active particles and the initial amount of dissolved oxygen can be used to efficiently control the termination conditions of heat diffusion. We also extend the previous dissolved air field method, which only computes near air bubbles, to transparent regions to represent realistic ice spheres, and introduce a levelset-based approach to accurately compute the orientation of particles. As a result, the method presented in this paper is about three times faster than the existing methods and shows visually improved visualization of opaque ice spheres, which can be used in the field of representing physical virtual ice forms.

  • With the rapid advances in automated driving technology, opportunities to experience automated driving directly or indirectly are being provided to the public. On the other hand, research on the preferred automated driving patterns from the user's perspective has not been conducted in Korea. This study used a driving simulator and an experimental vehicle capable of automated driving to evaluate the user satisfaction regarding longitudinal and lateral accelerations. Automated driving patterns were implemented in a virtual environment simulation using five values of longitudinal and lateral accelerations derived from driving experiments. Among these values, three were implemented through experimental vehicle-based automated driving to evaluate satisfaction and anxiety. The participants evaluated lateral acceleration more sensitively than longitudinal acceleration and showed higher levels of anxiety. Based on these results, the necessity of user-oriented evaluation research for automated driving patterns and the suitability of simulator-based evaluation methods were presented.

  • Augmented Reality (AR) is a mix of the real world that is enhanced by virtual objects from computer-generated information. AR is currently used in a variety of information systems and library services. AR technologies are also being developed for today's children, who are digital natives and are exposed to various technologies even earlier. To assist librarians who need to accurately understand users' information needs and perceptions of the technology being used in their libraries, we conducted a study of AR perceptions among children. We conducted two online co-design sessions using "Would you rather?", a co-design technique that facilitates research into children's opinions. Through the co-design sessions, we found that children were psychologically wary about AR technology due to a lack of trust in the technology, and realism had a significant impact on these judgments. We also identified that children considered AR technology environments as an extension of the real world. Their real-world values directly influenced their perceptions of AR. This research provides insights into the wariness that libraries need to be aware of when developing AR content for children in the future, and how libraries can use AR as an educational tool.

  • This study conducted a quantitative research on the artistic perception and acceptance of value among buyers of commodified digital art known as NFT artworks. NFTs, digital assets, have shown rapid growth as investment products, but recently there has been a trend of declining value. However, NFT art, characterized by uniqueness and scarcity, continues to undergo continuous development to create new opportunities and values. Nonetheless, there are also negative opinions regarding NFT art itself as a form of technological art, as well as concerns about copyright disputes and fears of a bubble due to the conversion of physical artworks into NFTs. Predicting the value of artworks targeting specific demographics is difficult, and the value of innovative art such as NFT art, which changes along with the fluctuation of cryptocurrency values, is even more challenging to predict. Therefore, through research on the buyers who play a crucial role in the growth and development of this new form of art, the study aims to contribute to the expansion of NFT art.
